Seaside’s former Funtown Pier. Absolutely devastating. I wasn’t able to get very close to see much further, but all I can say is it’s really bad here. Everything is burnt ashes and rubble. First Sandy and now this. Seaside can’t catch a break.
My thoughts are with everyone effected by the seaside park/heights fire. I only live an hour away, and I was there earlier this summer. It’s certainly heartbreaking that this town was partially destroyed by sandy, and now the boardwalk has been taken out by the fire.
Two Jersey shore communities that share an iconic boardwalk find themselves having to rebuild it and help scores of businesses pick up the pieces for the second time in less than a year after a massive fire roared along the wooden walkway that had only been rebuilt five months ago following the devastation of Superstorm Sandy.
