Ayat-al-Kursi

Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
—  Holy Qur'an, al-Baqarah 255
Ayat al-Kursi

Ayat Al Kursi

Wa Huwa Al-`Alīyu Al-`Ažīm

Allah! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth? He knoweth what (appeareth to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He willeth. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

If you enter a place which you fear, then recite this verse, “My Lord! Admit me with a worthy entrance, and bring me out with a worthy departure, and render me a favourable authority from yourself” [Qur’an 17:80], and if you see someone whom you fear, then recite Ayat al-Kursi [The verse of the Throne in the Holy Qur’an, 2:255-257].

Ayat al-Kursi is the “greatest verse of the Quran,” as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) told us. This is because of the tremendous, encompassing affirmation of Divinity in it. The key to it: Allah is the Living and All-Sustaining. Reflect on this verse regularly; recite it at morning and night; strive to recite it after every prayer–and strive to do so with awareness of its meanings, and reflecting on its realities.
