U.S. Army soldiers with Company C, 2nd Battalion, 30th Infantry Regiment, from Forward Operating Base Torkham, conduct a dismounted patrol from one of their observation points to an Afghan Border Police checkpoint, Nov. 18, 2013. The checkpoint is located a couple kilometers from the Afghanistan/Pakistan border. The purpose of the patrol was to speak with the Afghan Border Police officers at the checkpoint and gain a better understanding of Afghan security operations close to FOB Torkham. 2nd Battalion is a part of 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Task Force Patriot.
