Sou fraco, pensei. Sofro demasiadamente por coisas pequenas, me entrego desesperadamente a pessoas rasas, quero exasperadamente curar-me de tudo que me deixa triste. Mas, me sinto fraco. Todos os dias enfrento lutas exaustivas comigo mesmo e a troco do quê? Estou cansado; Cansado de acreditar, cansado de querer e não conseguir ter.

I cannot begin to describe how beyond in love I am with this author or how much her writing means to me. Getting to meet her today was an experience I will treasure forever, and while I didn’t get to say one one hundredth of the things I wish I could say to her if I had the time, I did manage to pull myself together and stop crying long enough to say what I had planned and hopefully express an inkling of my gratitude. I will now spend the rest of my evening taking aesthetic pictures of this book because it’s in my possession now so I can. @maggie-stiefvater
A wise woman once tweeted, “never meet your heroes, they say, but I don’t have to worry about that because the Disney Robin Hood is an animated fox”, but apparently this was something I needed to worry about because earlier today I met the author of said tweet (and some of the best books I’ve ever read, but you know, no big deal) @maggie-stiefvater.
But despite what “they say”, I’m incredibly glad that I got to meet my writing hero today. This was my first book signing event ever, and I was able to see the one author who I knew I HAD to meet one day. Needless to say, I was very excited and nervous. She signed my incredibly beat up copy of The Raven Boys (”It’s well loved,” I told her.) and I was able to tell her how much reading TRC had meant to me as both a reader and a Hopeful Someday Maybe Writer without making a COMPLETE fool of myself. Hopefully, some day I’ll be able to meet her at a future book signing event and be much cooler and less shaky, but I was just glad I got to tell her that.
Then I asked her for a selfie because I saw a girl a few people ahead of me in line had gotten one with her, but I found out later that I wasn’t supposed to ask her that. So um, sorry about that. But thank you for taking one with me anyway.
Regardless, I’m SUPER excited to binge read All the Crooked Saints tonight and it was incredible to be able to meet Maggie, who was super cool and funny, so if anyone has the chance to go to one of her signing events, you absolutely should.
Also, she played the bagpipes for us, so that was definitely awesome.
