“Hey, Kelly?”

Kelly looked up from her biology textbook, blinking at her best friend Olivia, who was definitely not doing the chapter review questions they’d been assigned. “What?”

“Do you think there’s something weird about Percy Jackson?” Olivia asked.

Kelly followed her to gaze to where Percy was sitting at the back of the room, leaning back in his chair. from the moment they met, sherlock has given so much of himself to john. he gave space in his home so that john could fill it. he gave john his credit card when money was tight. he gave his work and his life for two years to keep john safe. he gave his time and his energy to make john’s wedding perfect. he gave his health and his safety and his future to protect john from magnussen’s blackmail.

he has been so selfless for so long when it comes to john, and john doesn’t even realize it, doesn’t let himself see what sherlock has really sacrificed, because if he did, he would know, he would know how sherlock feels about him, how much sherlock loves him, and it’s breaking my heart that john doesn’t know that sherlock would always do anything for him, that he already has, that he loves john deeply and tenderly and violently and desperately and as wholly as any one person could possibly love another. because john deserves to know that he’s loved that way. because sherlock deserves to know john loves him back just the same. because they both deserve to know that they aren’t alone in feeling this big, terrifying, earth-shattering love that they feel for each other. because they both deserve to accept it instead of hiding from it, to cherish it instead of fearing it. because they both deserve the happiness that could have been theirs from the start, that can still be theirs now if they just reach for it.
