How do you start sentences with a preposition?

For what reason are you asking?

On what grammar topic is your question based?

By which teacher were you told to ask this question?

We often start sentences with prepositions to avoid ending sentences with them. But the idea that it is wrong to end a sentence with a preposition is an outdated myth. In fact, many grammarians and style guides make fun of it:
