the cassiopeia/bigeast challenge!

(inspired by the IU challenge)

Hello! As a community that aims to inspire the rest of Cassiopeia and BigEast on Tumblr to create more content, here is a challenge to encourage more content creation!

The number before each task/prompt is the number of posts you should create for that specific prompt (of course, this challenge is for you - if you feel like you only want to create 3 posts instead of 4, you completely and absolutely can).

Please ensure that you do not use uneditable fantakens/fancams. While this list is still under progress, there are a number of editable sources that are listed. Please also ensure to credit editable fan sites if their photos or videos are being used.

Please link this post or a reblogged version of this post in your caption so that others can take up this challenge too! Be sure to tag your works with #cassieastchallenge as well!

K-POP Legends (1/???) DONG BANG SHIN KI (동방신기, Rising Gods Of The East)

Formed by S.M. Entertainment in 2003, TVXQ began as a five-member boy band that  rose to international prominence in the late 2000s, after the group achieved critical acclaim in the Korean music industry for their best-selling albums “O”-Jung.Ban.Hap. (2006) and Mirotic (2008).  Selling over 10 million records in the first 10 years of their career, TVXQ have become one of Asia’s most successful music acts of their generation. They are often referred to as “Asia’s Stars” and the “Kings of K-pop" for their immense success and contributions to the Hallyu. According to the Oricon, TVXQ have the most number-one singles for a foreign artist, and is Japan’s best-selling foreign music act in CD singles of all time. Their Time Tour, one of the highest-grossing concert tours of 2013, is the highest-attended concert tour held by a foreign music act in Japan. With the tour, the duo became the first non-Japanese Asian artists to headline a nationwide five-Dome tour, and were the first foreign artists to perform in the Nissan Stadium. Billboard has described the group as "K-pop royalty”.

“TVXQ are old and irrelevant!!!”

I’m seeing a lot of this line of thinking lately (primarily on Twitter) and wanted to clear things up a bit for people who may believe in this (false) notion

A bit of a background~ TVXQ is a duo that originally was a group of 5 that debuted in 2003. In 2009, that group of 5 parted ways to form TVXQ and JYJ separately.

Now, back to my point~

Despite having debuted 14 years ago, having gone through a group split that devastated/divided the fandom, and being on a 2 year hiatus, THIS is the reaction “irrelevant ol’ TVXQ” garners~

TVXQ may be “old” by your relative standards (since I’m assuming many of you got into kpop 2015 and after- based on my experience at least), but they are by no means “irrelevant”

I’m not asking you to study all these “old” groups but I ask that you respect them, because without their effort and the effort of their fans, you probably wouldn’t have known of kpop or known it as you do now

Our ocean looked like this

So yours could look like this

So please keep this in mind.

Also, if you see someone disrespecting a group like that, please do not hesitate to call them out~ ❤️
