I wanted to speak up about something really quick. I would first like to apologise for the recent anger on my blog about the vote against Net Neutrality, it’s not in my nature to get angry but I could not help myself in this instance. But I still feel my anger is absolutely justified for this situation. Ajit Pai. Brendan Carr. Michael O’Rielly. Remember these names. These are the three people who don’t give a damn about anyone but themselves. These are the three of five that voted to kill Net Neutrality despite our calls, despite our online votes, despite our feelings. These people aren’t people. I will be honest and say I don’t know much about politics, but I know about human decency, and I know to treat people with respect. The delayed response of the final vote gave all of us false hope, and for what? We lost, with nothing we could do we had to wait to be told that we were the ones who failed. Whatever gains these voters had in destroying Net Neutrality, it better have been damned worth it, because the hardships are being lain upon small business owners, internet activists, artists just starting to make names for themselves, everyone suffers except them and the internet providers. I know that Net Neutrality had only existed since 2015, so what reason do I have to be upset to see it go? Well maybe the internet will be fine, but the sheer fact that they voted for something we all didn’t want is disgusting. Cruel people like this do not deserve to be in power, they don’t even deserve to walk among us.
Phew! That’s a weight off my chest! Now the light at the end of the tunnel!
The fight ain’t over yet folks, we won’t go down that easy! I don’t know much about this one but supposedly the vote was illegal or something? But even if it were legal, it still must go through the legislative process! We are safe for right now, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t still work! Cast your vote on change.org, donate, host a protest at your school, contact your local government officials! They made a big mistake trying to take on THE INTERNET, because we are a force to be reckoned with!!
