The Lakers secured one of the most famous playoffs victories in the history of the franchise during Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals, when they rallied in the fourth quarter to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 89-84 on June 4, 2000.

The Lakers were dominant all season under Phil Jackson, but found their match in Portland, who had one of the deepest rosters in the NBA with the likes of Scottie Pippen, Rasheed Wallace and Steve Smith.

The Lakers struggled during the game, trailing by as many as 16 points in the third quarter. That lead ended up being merely the set-up for one of the greatest comebacks in NBA history. The Lakers went on a 25-4 run that included the memorable Kobe-to-Shaq alley-oop that sealed the win.

Kobe Bryant finished with 25 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists, while Shaquille O’Neal added 18 points and nine rebounds.
