Chicago Fire season 5 spoilers, air date: Casey and Dawson to take unexpected decision?

In the upcoming season of Chicago Fire, it seems that both Casey and Dawson will take a decision that came unexpected to other Firehouse 51 members.

After having several arguments in the previous season, Casey (portrayed by Jesse Spencer) and Dawson (portrayed by Monica Raymund) have decided to keep their differences aside and move in together with their foster child.

Casey was in a dilemma in season 4 as just when he was about to move together with his girlfriend Susan (portrayed by Lauren Stamile), he got the news that Dawson was pregnant, and decided to return to her to be her child’s father.

Unfortunately, Dawson had a miscarriage, but instead of separating them, the incident brought them closer than before. Though Susan was initially upset with Casey breaking up with her, she eventually accepted her fate and moved on.

Derek Haas, executive producer of Chicago Fire, has said that the fifth season will focus on the life of Casey and Dawson as a couple.

“Not as a married couple necessarily, but as a couple with a child in their lives, and also explore the challenges of being on a fire truck together with a child at home,” Haas said.

Haas also talked about Dawson’s struggle to continue her job as a firefighter or concentrate on the parenting of her child.

“She goes through some close calls. She has to make some decisions about what it is she wants in life and where her new-found priorities are in terms of being a firefighter or being a foster parent to Louie.”

The synopsis of Chicago Fire season 5 episode 1 titled The Hose or The Animal reads:

“Dawson questions her dangerous career path as a firefighter, while Casey continues his work as Alderman but his relationship with his political consultant, Susan, cools. Meanwhile, Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) are on the lookout for a very unstable Grant (Guy Burnet) as Borrelli (Steven R. McQueen) still blames Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) for the death of his brother.”

Chicago Fire season 5 episode 1 is all set to premiere on 11 October on NBC.
