Okay so having had time to process 7X1 and talk with some
awesome people about it I finally feel like I have something to say that adds
constructively the conversation. So for me when I look at the show and the
decisions that are made in terms of what certain characters do or don’t do I
always try to focus on the writing and remind myself that this is a story that
someone is trying to tell us. This isn’t real life where things can happen randomly
or by chance. This is a well-crafted and laid out story that someone is telling
which means that when things happen it is for a reason that impacts the story
itself. So I am going to detail a few things that jumped out at me from the
writing and the overall story and what I think this means moving forward into
S7. I am going to put this under a read more because it gets rather lengthy.
Storyline: Gold Rush follows three teams of miners
who risk everything in the face of an economic meltdown - their
families, their dignity, and in some cases, their lives - to strike it
rich mining for gold in the wilds of Alaska and the Yukon Territory.
