Baekhyun tip-toed through the halls of EXO’s dorm, further nearing Yixing’s room with each small step he took.

Though he was usually unforgivably loud, he was especially careful not to wake anyone at such a late hour.

His night thus far had already been too wakeful for his taste, as the last thing he wished for himself was to wake up any of his band members (Kyungsoo specifically, who was particularly grouchy when Baekhyun interrupted his rest).

“Yixing-hyung?” He asked after pushing the door open just enough for him to poke his head inside the room, “Are you still awake? I can’t sleep.”

As the younger man’s level-volumed voice sliced through the silence enveloping him, Yixing gave a tired moan of response. Still half asleep, he scooted over in his small bed and patted the empty space he’d created beside his own frame.

He had only travelled three fourths of the way to slumber in the first place, but even had he been sound asleep, he never minded his friend’s presence.

“C'mon,” he further persuaded through a yawn, making an effort to sound as inviting as he was intending to.

“Are you sure I didn’t wake you up?” Baekhyun queried, entering the room and pushing the door closed behind himself, “If you’re tired, I can go.”

Despite his habit of being both incredibly loud and rowdy, he really was trying to make certain efforts to keep in mind the time, and that his presence may not have been welcomed at that moment.

Typically, he’d ignore those thoughts and continue as he always would, but Yixing had only just gotten back from China; he knew his hyung had to be exhausted and just as sleep deprived as he.

“I wasn’t asleep yet,” Yixing admitted as the younger boy slowly crawled into bed next to him, pulling the covers over the both of them in order to keep protected from the frigid temperature Junmyeon insisted on keeping the air conditioner set to.

Due to how small the bed was, his torso was pressed against Baekhyun’s back, but he didn’t mind. He enjoyed the extra warmth.

An arm was secured around the brunette, possibly the only thing keeping him from slipping off the bed’s edge, which was frightfully near.

To an extent that he would readily admit, Baekhyun liked this position. He liked being held by Yixing; he’d been waiting to do so during the many months they were kept separated.

“Are you comfortable?” He heard groggily whispered from behind him, just south of his ear.

Without realizing he’d done so, droopy eyed, raven haired man had made himself comfortable by burying his face into the crook of the other man’s neck.

Baekhyun still smelled faintly of peaches, he noticed.

The brunette hummed in response, “I’m fine; just worry about getting some sleep.”

“Promise you’ll wake me if you still have trouble?” Yixing asked insistantly, drawing a quiet chuckle from Baekhyun.

“Yeah, yeah. Promise.”

  • What I say: I love the 'enemies to lovers' trope
  • What people think I mean: I get off on violence. I think hate sex is the best, don't think healthy and stable relationships are 'interesting' enough, and I purposefully sabotage all my relationships. I frequently ship characters with their abusers and consider dragging someone along and domestic violence 'grey areas' because if you look at context it really just means they love each other.
  • What I actually mean: I love it when two people who hate each other, whether it be seemingly clashing personalities, or actual literal enemies (always enemies who balance each other out. Not 'anti-hero/villain guy constantly harasses heroine girl', but two people who are evenly matched and can hold their own against each other and even in hatred have somewhat respect for the other) who are fighting on opposite sides of a struggle, come together on equal ground and realize that they have more in common than they previously thought. When the two finally join the same side, whether it's due to the redemption of one character or what have you, they may not get along at first, but with time and effort the two eventually find themselves friends with the other. Only *after* they have an established trust and friendship do they then start to have romantic feelings for the other. The 'enemies to lovers' trope does not work if you cannot put 'friend' between the two.
