"Except that implies—in this big grand scheme of Tumblr and videos—that we're just a victim. But I've seen a lot of this Internet. I've seen ship wars and companion wars and Doctor wars and writer wars. And out of all that, out of that whole pantheon, if I believe in one thing—just one thing—I believe in us."
Sometimes, we forget what Doctor Who is. It’s a wonderful show that brought us all together. It taught us love, friendship, bravery, and so much more. A lot of us wouldn’t be on this site without Doctor Who. We get bogged down in ship wars and companion hate and arguing over which Doctor was better, but that isn’t what the show is about.
This, the 500-Mile Riot, this is what the show is about. It’s about us having fun and laughing and enjoying each other’s company. It’s about being ourselves and being awesome. I love it when this kind of stuff happens, because it reminds us why we watch the show. Strip away everything we fight about, and it’s about a lonely man trying to save the universe. We watch because we love that man. And he wouldn’t want us to break into factions of Doctor/Rose vs. Doctor/River, of Nine vs. Ten vs. Eleven. He’d want us to bind together and be magnificent, fantastic, brilliant, and cool. Why can’t we?
