a while back i thought about writing a gta verse sort of “files from the lspd” thing because for real can you imagine some of the notes the los santos police department has from bringing in members of the fake ah crew

like ryan:

  • haywood spent the first ten minutes of his interrogation heavily criticizing the “poor upkeep” of an orchid on one of the detective’s desks
  • spoke french, insisted on not knowing english; switched to russian after a french translator was brought in and insisted (in russian) on not knowing french or english
  • made detective demarais cry twice three separate times
  • bailed out by jack pattillo

and ray:

  • upon being brought in with haywood: both men spoke at length to one another in three four five? different languages; narvaez complied with translating for haywood, who insisted he didn’t know english again
  • [addendum: upon review of interrogation tapes, it has been discovered that narvaez was translating heavily and intentionally incorrectly]
  • fell asleep during interrogation on 2/17/12 8/03/13 10/23/13 4/29/14 6/12/14 somebody get this kid a fucking red bull
  • bailed out by jack pattillo

and michael:

  • upon being brought in with gavin free: both men bickered with one another at length despite multiple attempts at questioning
  • jones insisted on continuing to shout through the walls at free upon separation
  • blew up his holding cell on 3/19/13 9/26/13 5/02/14 who the hell is searching this guy?
  • bailed out by jack pattillo

 and geoff just. like:

  • asked for a beer
  • somehow convinced detective demarais to bring him a beer
  • [addendum: he’s really persuasive you guys okay i’m sorry]
  • not bailed out by jack pattillo; inspection of phone transcripts indicate pattillo berated ramsey for “getting brought in on a fucking public indecency charge of all things,” and said he could “stay in there for a few days. yes, i can do that. i can. i just did. i just grounded you.”

and just the last page of that file has been revised so many times:

  • conclusion: proceed with caution.
  • conclusion: separate and subdue.
  • conclusion: shoot on sight.

1. Do you ever doubt the existence of others than you?

I used to think of this a lot when I was younger, and it still happens now from time to time, like how do I know other people exist? What if this is all just a product of my imagination? Or maybe I’m living a Matrix- or Truman Show-style reality? Maybe you stop moving and talking and doing anything as soon as I leave, or maybe this is all a dream I’m having while I’m in a coma. Yeah, that kind of stuff.

3. The person you would never want to meet?

Oh there are so many! Uhm, Donald Trump?

5. If you were a type of tree, what would you be?

A bonsai tree

8. What do you label yourself as?

DAY 108
Saturday, April 18, 2015

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
- Galatians 5:22-23

This month we are talking about the fruit of the spirit and over the next few days we will be talking about goodness. We just want to encourage you tonight to embrace goodness…the kind of goodness that comes from the Lord. I know it’s late and if you’ve been following this devotional for a while you know that we like to post late at night sometimes, just for YOU–you that just might be sitting there thinking about your past, your present, your future. You that might be:

1. Looking at your phone waiting for a text
2. Scrolling through Instagram or Facebook wish you were somewhere else or had something more
3. Wondering if you’re going to make it through finals
4. Worried about your job or career situation
5. Dealing with family issues beyond your control
6. Wondering who and where your true friends are
7. Wondering if you should go to church tomorrow
8. Wondering if something is wrong with you and why that certain guy won’t pursue you
9. Thinking about a situation that happened in your past
10. Having a hard time forgetting about the bad news in your life

Whatever the bad news or not-so-good news looks like in your life, know that goodness comes from the Lord and no matter how bad things get, the Lord is still in control and the goodness that comes from the Spirit of the Lord is real, it is authentic, and because of Christ, you have access to that kind of goodness.

Also, goodness is not just a positivity kick or a motivational speech. Know that the kind of goodness that comes from the Lord is the HIGHEST form of moral excellence that you could ever experience. So hold onto that! God is GOOD! His goodness is real! Be encouraged #quitewomencosisters!

Day 6 of 7: How to be more like Christ

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. - Gal. 5:22-23

My dear sister,

In Christ Jesus, there is no need to simply go through the day, the week, or your life just trying to get by. As we see in today’s passage, there are tangible ways that we can truly make a difference by the way we choose to live. The way you choose to respond to someone who offended you, the way you choose to react when something goes wrong, and the way you make decisions based on your convictions can all be rooted in the fruit of the spirit. If you don’t know where to start on your journey to be more like Christ, in your daily life, start there!
Here are some examples to get you started:

1. Love
Putting other people before yourself

2. Joy
Continuing to have a great attitude even when things don’t go your way. Not letting your mood be determined by what’s in your bank account. Worshipping the Lord even when you’re going through a difficult time

3. Peace
Being confident of God’s presence in your life

4 . Forbearance
Being okay with waiting, realizing that God’s timing is better

5. Kindness
Being considerate of people…even those we don’t get along with. Being a friend to someone who really needs it, not expecting anything in return.

6. Goodness
Providing loving wisdom to others. Not focusing out outer appearance but what’s int the heart.

7. Faithfulness
Not giving up in hard times, but continuing to plant seeds and serve the Lord.

8. Gentleness
Not allowing your emotions to get the best of you when things go wrong.

9. Self-control
Resisting temptation even though fleshly desires are strong.

When it comes to being the woman God has called you to be, it comes down to being in a relationship with Jesus and allowing Him to do a work in you. You won’t be able to live this kind of life without Him, so lean into that today, and let His example be your guide!

Day 19/31

For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” - Gal. 5:14
Love is a very important part of fulfilling our purpose. After all, it is God’s love through Jesus Christ that GIVES us purpose. Love has to be our priority. We have to take the time to focus our attention on what it means to love those around us on a daily basis.
If we’re truly honest, this can be easier said than done. So often times, we don’t even realize that we’ve put our schedules or our priorities before others. Sometimes, we even put our own pain and hurt before others. If you’ve ever had your heart broken or you’ve ever been taken advantage of, it can become hard to open up your heart. Instead of freely loving others, you put up walls just so you can try to avoid being hurt or getting taken advantage of again. As a result, you can end up becoming so focused on protecting yourself from getting hurt that you overlook those around you.
But that’s not how we are to live as followers of Christ. We are not live in that kind of fear. Through Him, there is freedom to live a life where you are free to “love your neighbor as yourself.” And the beautiful thing about it is that you are not meant to do it alone. As we see in today’s passage in Galatians 5, now that we have a relationship with Christ, we are to walk in the Spirit. He is the one who strengthens us and guides us when we feel like we’re too broken to love others or too busy or too tired. This is what God wants you to know! You are not meant to do this alone.
In the Old Testament, this Word of God comes as beautiful, comforting truth to the prophet Zechariah in regards to Zerubbabel rebuilding the temple: “Your strength and prowess will not be enough to finish My temple, but My Spirit will be.” (Zechariah 4:6). So no matter how weak or tired you feel at times, don’t give up on loving others. Through His spirit, God will work through you so that you can love like Jesus. So make the time to love others because even when you don’t feel like you can do it, God is the One who will make it possible for you to do so!
