Columbine Songs

Eminem and Columbine

I am an Eminem Fan for years now and when I started to get more and more into True Crime I was surprised to find a lot of his Lyrics mentioning Columbine which I never really realised before. Of course he also mentioned other murderers or events, like Ted Bundy and the Aurora theater shooting but I wanted to start with the Columbine lyrics because there’s a lot of material. So let’s start:

The Way I Am, 2000
When a dude’s getting bullied and shoots up his school
And they blame it on Marilyn and the heroin
Where were the parents at? And look where it’s at!
Middle America, now it’s a tragedy
Now it’s so sad to see, an upper-class city
Havin’ this happening

Marshall states that he thinks that he thinks that not music is the reason for the shooting but bullying and the parents. But as we all know Marilyn Manson was partly blamed for Columbine by the media.
Em is also making fun of the fact that Columbine was the first shooting that people cared this much about although there have been a lot of shootings but now it happened at a “nice” school.

There is an alternative version of this song featuring Marilyn Manson (x)
He performed it live with Manson (x and x)
Manson also appeared in the official video (x)

Remember me, 2000
Came home and somebody musta broke in the back window
And stole two loaded machine guns and both of my trenchcoats
Sick, sick dreams of picnic scenes
Two kids, sixteen, with M-16’s and ten clips each
And them shits reach through six kids each

Em is making fun of the idea that musicians like him are a bad influence because he is not the one who gives these kids their weapons.

And as we all know, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold both wore a Trenchcoat when the attack started, that’s why „both of my Trenchcoats“ were stolen. And so he thinks that they were stolen to start another Columbine.
And when you have these „two kids“ with guns that, when you shoot them, „reach through six kids each“ you have 12 dead kids. And as we all know, during the Columbine massacre died 12 kids (and one adult).

By the way, Eminem needed two months to write his whole verse on this song while Sticky Fingaz wrote his verse in one day.

I’m Back, 2000
I take seven [kids] from [Columbine]
Stand ‘em all in line, add an AK-47, a revolver, a 9
A MAC-11 and it oughta solve the problem of mine
And that’s a whole school of bullies shot up all at one time

This is probably the most well known Columbine reference made by Eminem.
This album came out one year after the massacre so it was still an sensitive subject. Therefore his label censored these two words (Kids and Columbine), even on the explicit version of the album.
I don’t think I have to explain what exactly this lyric means, it’s pretty clear.
In his book he states this:

“ I was getting shit about the Columbine reference on “I’m Back” and the label was telling me that I wasn’t gonna be able to say it. My whole thing was, what is the big fucking deal? That shit happens all the time. Why is that topic so touchy as opposed to, say a four-year-old kid drowning? Why isn’t that considered a huge tragedy? People die in the city all the time. People get shot, people get stabbed, raped, mugged, killed and all kinds of shit. What the fuck is the big deal with Columbine that makes it separate from any other tragedy in America?”

In 2015 a 15 year-old boy was arrested. He posted these lyrics on Instagram and added “Cause I’m just like shady and just as crazy as the world was over that whole Y2K thing”
The origiginal lyrics are “ ‘Cause (I'mmmm) Shady, they call me as crazy
As the world was over this whole Y2K thing”

When authorities searched the boy’s home they found weaponry and eventually arrested him. He denied any knowledge of the weapons and said he didn’t post this text on Instagram.

White America, 2002
White America, I could be one of your kids
White America, little Eric looks just like this

In this song it’s not only about the Lyrics but also about the music video.
With “little Eric” he mentioned Eric Harris but it was also meant as an example for a typical white kid. He is from middle america because his name is in the middle of amERICa.
The interesting part is, as I said, the video. Where you can see news of an school shooting during “I could be one of your kids”
And during “little Eric looks just like this” you can see one of those typical yearbook pictures and the house of the school shooter. The house looks a bit like the one the Harrises had.

When these lines get repeated you can see a boy full of (probably) blood stepping out of the map of america. On his shirt is written “I am Eric”.

Rap God, 2013
I’ll take seven kids from Columbine
Put ‘em all in a line, add an AK-47, a revolver and a 9

This was the first time we could hear the Columbine Line uncensored. Eminem didn’t rap all of the “I’m back” lines because he just wanted to
“See if I get away with it now that I ain’t as big as I was”
As you can hear, he got away with it.

Eminem is one of the few people who openly give their sympathy for the two shooters.
He admitted to be interested in serial killers in this statement:
“I did find myself watching a lot of documentaries on serial killers, I mean, I always had a thing for them. I’ve always been intrigued by them and I found that watching movies about killers sparked something in me.The way a serial killer’s mind works, just the psychology of them is pretty fucking crazy. I was definitely inspired by that, but most of the album’s imagery came from my own mind.”

But Marshall Mathers seems to have an very personal realationship with the whole Columbine Issue.
He himself was bullied on a daily basis during his childhood, often for his race and for always being the new kid. When he was nine years old he got beaten up so bad he was in an coma for several days. I think he is one of the people who is trying to understand what Harris and Klebold were going through.
But I think it is important to mention, that he is the living proof that even when your life is is shitty right now because of some people who have nothing in their life but to terrorize you, that you can still have a better life. And you beat them best when you keep on living.

“That Columbine shit is so fucking touchy. As much sympathy as we give the Columbine shootings, nobody ever looked at it from the fuckin’ point of view of the kids who were bullied—I mean, they took their own fucking life! And it was because they were pushed so far to the fucking edge that they were fucking so mad. I’ve been that mad.

-Marshall Mathers

I’m really saddened to hear that Ed Whitlock has died.

Ed was a Canadian legend and the greatest age-adjusted runner of all time. He got back into running seriously in his sixties. He ran a 2:54:49 marathon at age 73 – the fastest ever by anyone 70+ and just this past fall he ran a 3:56:34 marathon at 85, making him the oldest person to run a sub-4-hour marathon.

He was a fixture of Toronto area races and an inspiration anyone who’s ever thought it was too late to do something amazing.

He’ll be missed in the running community.

‘marble hearts collide’

#58 “I was going to kiss him, but then my friend texted me about going to Taco Bell, and, well, there’s this cashier that works there who is way cuter, so I bailed on the rest of the date.”

Thank you Grace! I chose this one because I had an idea for it as soon as I read it and so… that’s what this is <3 I might make this a thing ?? like a series

modern + muggle au

“I was going to kiss him, but then Gemma texted me about going to Taco Bell, and, well, there’s this cashier that works there who is way cuter, so I bailed on the rest of the date.” Lily’s telling him this, aware that she sounds loopy, and she can’t help the blush on her cheeks but she’s also had a few glasses of wine, a few really meaning five, and really, it needs to be said. “So, anyway, I’m standing in front of this cashier guy and he really, really is cute. Like, textbook, chick flick, cute. Probably has a good shot at a career on Instagram. And he asks me what I want. And you know what I don’t want?” She pauses, doesn’t give him time to answer, takes another sip of the drink in her hand, drink meaning gin and tonic, and continues, “Him! I don’t want him! So, now I’ve bailed on my date to ask another guy out on a date and I go to ask this guy and I realise I don’t want to go on a date with him! He has to use a calculator to work out my change. I only paid with a fiver!” She throws her hands up and almost sends her glass flying and Sirius takes that as his cue to intervene.

“Hey, Evans,” he says, stilling her hand, “breathing is a vital part of staying alive.”

She looks at him with wide eyes, wide eyes meaning eyes that can’t focus on one thing. “I’m breathing.”

“Good to know.” He slips her legs off his lap and stands, cracking his neck, before snatching her glass from her hand. He downs it before she can protest and just grins at her pout. “Everything in moderation.”

“Including sobriety.” Surprisingly, drink never seems to hinder Lily’s vocabulary. It just makes her sound like a character out of an American coming-of-age film.

Transiting Venus enters Libra

October 14 - November 7, 2017

I have the North Node in Libra, and as a teenager I went through more than my share of opal jewelry. The stone is on the fragile side, which with all my Aries energy (Moon, Mars, South Node) was not the best gem for me.

Of Venus’ two traditional rulerships, astrologer Isabel Hickey wrote (in Astrology: A Cosmic Science) that “Venus in Libra is more cultured and artistic.” She explained further,

In this sign Venus is in her home and at her best. Released from the earthly bondange she knows in Taurus*, and because of the airy, intellectual quality of Libra, an air sign, she is more refined, esthetic, and artistic. Expresses on the mental and spiritual levels rather than the physical.”

(*) - as someone with Venus/Taurus, I would just like to point out that Issie had Venus/Libra and was perhaps somewhat biased, not to mention completely wrong.

With Venus in her own digs, our quests for money, rest and relaxation, and partnerships should go smoothly. Unfortunately there is always the caveat “unless Venus is afflicted” and, sure enough, her 2017 path through Libra is not completely o’erspread with roses. Let’s consider some of the potential pitfalls:

Indecision. When we see both sides equally, how can we pick just one? And it’s usually over the most trivial things, too: this entree or that one? This shirt or those boots? It’s annoying as hell to more decisive people. One would hope that with the more important issues, such ambivalence is absent. For everything else, flip a coin.

Dependency. Sometimes in the process of being indecisive, we attempt to foist off the choice to someone else. It’s actually a very clever way of foisting off responsibility for a bad choice, and that leads us to….

Manipulation. This happens when we want our own way very much, but don’t want to be seen as wanting our own way very much. So, we maneuver people and/or circumstances in such a way as to secure us our own way.

Superficiality. “Varnish and gilding hide many stains.” We get caught up in appearances and veneers, perhaps deliberately, to avoid the ickier, stickier human situations. Some people may lack the capacity for depth, true, but come on - if you’re reading an astrology blog, you know better!

Perhaps the best advice I can give is to keep in mind the Libra principle of fairness, as well as those of beauty, grace, and elegance. Make aesthetic choices which balance out your life; let other people have a turn, then insist on having your own.

Celebrities with Venus in Libra:
Beyonce, Grace Kelly, Mark Ruffalo, Freddie Mercury, Pablo Picasso, Prince Harry, Prince Charles, Will Smith, Warren Buffett, Stephen King, Viggo Mortensen, Arthur Rimbaud, Bernie Sanders, Colin Firth, Lorde, Vivien Leigh, Oscar Wilde, Rita Hayworth, Usain Bolt, Kobe Bryant, Elizabeth I, Louis XVI, Genghis Khan, Florence Welch, Lisa Bonet, Tom Felton, F. Scott Fitzgerald

Saturday, October 21, Ceres/Leo sextile Venus/Libra, 8:53

The basic meaning here is the opportunity to bring beauty and balance into the home and family, creating a nurturing, harmonious environment. Of course this takes many forms: making a big-ticket purchase to make the home more comfortable and/or beautiful; hosting a party; spoiling the kids, and/or your inner child; inviting the object(s) of your passion to spend the night. It’s probably pointless to remind people to be frugal and sensible!

Planets/Points affected lie between 7:53 and 9:53 of the yang signs Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius.

Monday, October 23, Juno/Capricorn square Venus/Libra, 11:29

If we’ve been over-idealistic about relationships, or flat-out refusing to be realistic about relationships, we’re in trouble today. Juno/Capricorn has rules, which Venus/Libra doesn’t like - and transiting Neptune/Pisces is chipping in, inconjunct Venus but sextile Juno, so we can easily figure out whose side is favored here. What I’m “getting” is that Venus may be tempted to do something dishonorable, ostensibly in the name of keeping the peace, and will be called out for it.

Planets/Points affected lie between 10:29 and 12:29 of the cardinal signs Aries*, Cancer*, Libra*, and Capricorn*; and between 25:29 and 27:29 of the fixed signs Taurus*, Leo*, Scorpio*, and Aquarius*.

Friday, October 27, Pluto/Capricorn square Venus/Libra, 17:04

These two planets have a financial flavor, as they rule Taurus/2nd House (our money) and Scorpio/8th House (others’ money, indebtedness). If they’re messing with something in your chart, clamp down tightly on those purse strings - and if it’s too late for that, figure out a feasible repayment plan. Another thing that may get us into trouble is manipulating relationships, or within a relationship. Stop it.

Planets/Points affected lie between 16:04 and 18:04 of the cardinal signs Aries*, Cancer*, Libra*, and Capricorn*; and between 1:04 and 3:04 of the mutable signs Gemini*, Virgo*, Sagittarius*, and Pisces*.

Monday, October 30, North Node/Leo sextile Venus/Libra, 20:12;
South Node/Aquarius trine Venus/Libra, 20:12

Here, we can reach for the higher meanings of Venus/Libra and apply them toward the ongoing Personal Authenticity project of the Nodes. The trine to the South Node suggests that we have the ability to reach out to literal “Others,” and gives us a certain flair for the unexpected and contrary in aesthetics. Even if all we do is recognize the importance of courtesy and good manners in all our dealings, that’s a success. And we can build on this….

Planets/Points affected lie between 19:12 and 21:12 of the yang signs Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius, and Aquarius.

Wednesday, November 1, Vesta/Libra conjunct Venus/Libra, 22:26;
Eris Rx/Aries opposite Venus/Libra, 23:08;
Friday, November 3, Saturn/Sagittarius sextile Venus/Libra, 24:49

This is a pretty active week for Venus (and I hope I remember that when I write the weekly forecast for Oct 30 - Nov 5). If we began on Monday by trying to be nicer people, what we’ve got here is a chance to “work well with Others” in pursuit of some common goals. (Maybe the environment? If we don’t have a viable planet, everything else is moot.) Trying so hard to be nice and do the right thing has its pitfalls, and there’s a particular earnestness invoked with this setup. The shallower, more cynical Venus response would be to sneer it off like a Bingley sister; we can do better than that, and be gracious about it.

Planets/Points affected lie between 21:26 and 25:49 of the signs Aries*, Gemini, Cancer*, Leo, Libra*, Sagittarius, Capricorn*, and Aquarius; and between 6:26 and 9:08 of the mutable signs Gemini*, Virgo*, Sagittarius*, and Pisces*.

Friday, November 3, Saturn/Sagittarius sextile Venus/Libra, 24:49;
Uranus Rx/Aries opposite Venus/Libra, 25:54;
Saturday, November 4, Neptune Rx/Pisces (11:33) sesquare Venus/Libra (26:33)

Saturn got included here, too, in no small part because it’s exalted in Libra - especially now, during this week, it’s going to be easy to “feel” that. Here, it’s going to keep us on a (relatively) even and balanced keel as we try to deal with Venus’ entanglement with the Semi-Square Of Awry Technology Etc. One way this messes up is via the sudden (Uranus) ending of a romantic relationship; even if you aren’t a participant, you may find yourself affected. Sometimes I feel that the entire Libra process can be a set-up which actually manipulates us into a search for deeper, more genuine, more - well - Scorpionic processes. And that’s exactly what this set-up feels like.

Planets/Points affected lie between 23:49 and 26:54 of the signs Aries*, Gemini, Cancer*, Leo, Libra*, Sagittarius, Capricorn*, and Aquarius; and between 9:54 and 12:33 of the mutable signs Gemini*, Virgo*, Sagittarius*, and Pisces*.

Interiors 1

Holsøe was a Danish artist who primarily painted interior scenes often with a solitary female figure present. His style will remind some of his friend and more famous compatriot Vilhelm Hammershøi.

purronronner  asked:

Tell us about your Peter is Morph Capable headcanons

I was going to look all this up - I got this ask, like, a day ago - but fuck it. I need this. I thiiink they lose access to the Chee after ALL the Animorphs and parents get burned? Or, if they didn’t, they’d have to be incredibly careful about it. Unless a Chee gives them some kind of high tech, wireless communicator before the age of wireless, then contacting a Chee when everyone in the Hork Bajir Valley is on the Yeerk’s Most Wanted is going to be hard.

If you don’t want to logic out how the Chee would be helping the Anifamilies in the Valley and want to have a GOOD FUCKING TIME, then you have to assume the Anifamilies are taking care of themselves. Obviously, they can’t just, like, go out in public and buy a bunch of shit at Wal-mart. So they have a plan. These are my headcanons, based on absolutely nothing supported from the books, it’s just what brings me joy.

The only Animorph who can drive is, potentially, Cassie, as she has morphed Yeerk and infested Tidwell. Well, she’s got shit to do. The parents aren’t pulling their weight, and the Valley needs more Campbell’s Tomato Soup. Sure, Walter and Michelle are foragers, but there’s only so many things you can do with mushrooms and dandelion leaves when the Valley needs to feed ten people. So they have a big meeting about it and the kids ask the parents who wants to help out. Obviously, they can’t just go buy supplies as THEMSELVES. In the end, Michelle and Peter are the only ones willing to do it. Naomi is Naomi, Walter knows he’s terrible under all pressure that isn’t directly related to his skills as a veterinarian, and Eva looks at the blue box with pure disgust. She’s done with alien technology, no matter how often Marco begs her to touch the Escafil Device and morph, just once and only once, to truly heal her wounds. The Chee had done an amazing job, but she still gets too tired too quickly, and there’s she gets a certain pained look on her face when she thinks no one is looking. Eva is furious with Peter for accepting morphing powers. Peter, in all his privileged joy at his new sci fi lifestyle, has a hard time understanding why.

They get money from some highly illegal techno magic Ax can do. Naomi Berenson knows how to hotwire a car. She just does. She teaches Peter. Michelle and Peter Frolis Maneuver disguises from other residents. They steal cars from office parks from between 9 AM to 11 AM, praying that the owner doesn’t decide to take an early lunch. It’s a difficult time crunch, and it’s sort of low stakes but not, and it’s absolutely thrilling. They take Loren, once, but Loren doesn’t do well outside the Valley. She barely does well IN the Valley. The kids didn’t think things through when they just plopped sight into a blind woman who only has memories of the last fifteen-ish years of her life.

When the war is over, Michelle uses her powers for research and science. Peter uses his to break into, like, ComicCon, even if he is perfectly capable of buying a ticket himself.

Listen, they probably mention the Chee helping them out in the Valley between #49 and #54 but I WON’T HEAR OF IT. I love the idea of the Ani Parents playing mission impossible in Costco while their kids, like, actually risk their lives.

i just realized what would eventually be a big (and oh so very human) problem in the post-war society. copyright claims. the rate of yeerk infestation among musicians, showwriters, and authors must be quite high as they're prominent and influential and their work reaches a big audience. but who do the works produced by a controller actually belong to? the yeerk? the human? how do you even prove who the idea originally belonged to? let's face it: people would sue for that.

Honestly I don’t foresee it being a problem at all, for several super-cynical reasons.

  • First of all, do we ever see any alien species put out work that any other species considers ‘art’?  Ax alludes to a bunch of different andalite jokes that mostly fly over his human friends’ heads, Dak Hamee describes some of the hork-bajir communication as ‘music’ whereas Aldrea considers it ‘noise,’ the andalites have a bunch of artistic structures on their Dome ships that to the Animorphs and Loren just look like trees near ponds, and if humans and hork-bajir ever manage to share any kind of artistic experience during those ~4 months they’re living together near the end of the war we never hear about it (#49-#54).  Similarly, most aliens don’t seem to get human culture: Ax loves “these messages” and says “[human music] is awful. All of it” (#8).  Yeerks probably have their own art forms, but Visser One describes television as “artifice and deception” and music as “screaming” (Visser).  We rarely see controllers watching or reading stories unless it’s as a cover for something else, never hear them listen to music, and the only mention of television in a yeerk-runs setting are the human voluntary hosts watching a human sitcom while their yeerks feed (#1).  Even Elfangor, who is the biggest human-culture nut in the series (and a little bit of a weirdo for it, Andalite Chronicles strongly implies) thinks cigarette ads are more beautiful than the actual content of magazines.  This motif actually makes a ton of sense when you think about it, because there’s no reason that extremely different cultures would have similar enough music for cross-pollination to occur.  As it is, there are tons of jokes and songs and shows within human cultures that get labeled as “I guess you have to be American [Japanese, Irish, etc] in order to find it funny,” and that’s just within cultures on the same planet.  Standards of taste vary by geography, and there is a LOT of geography separating the alien species in this series. Anywhoo, it would strike me as relatively unrealistic within the series as a whole and within our knowledge of sociology for a yeerk to put out something that many humans consider art.
  • Secondly, this question raises a lot of bigger (messier) questions about the respective power dynamics of the yeerks and human hosts after the war.  We never know a single goshdarn thing about what happens to the yeerks after their surrender, so this is all speculation, but… The human hosts are the ingroup.  The yeerk invaders are the outgroup.  The humans win; the yeerks lose.  There are five billion humans on the planet at the time, and maybe 100,000 yeerks.  All of those factors suggest that the yeerks are going to be awfully low on the pecking order of human society, if they’re in communication with human society at all.  There are other possibilities, including them being moved “elsewhere” on Earth as the taxxons are, including them being culturally annihilated, including them being barred from mainstream communication.  Let’s assume for a moment, though, that they simply go to live among the humans.  (I consider that possibility wildly unrealistic, for reasons I outline here, and no I’m not discussing it anymore for reasons I outline here.) They’re still a group of outsiders who have an extremely nasty cultural history with the humans.  When these kinds of questions arise, it tends to be the individual with more cultural power that wins: we talk about “Watson and Crick’s Theory of DNA” even though they blatantly stole from Rosalind Franklin because the alternative would be respecting women in science, about “Darwinism” not “Wallaceism” because although those two genuinely discovered approximately the same concept at the same time Darwin had better social connections, and about Archimedes more than Hypatia because Hypatia was yet another woman with power violently erased from math texts for millennia.  AND THOSE ARE JUST THE ONES WE KNOW ABOUT. Historians have hypothesized that entire libraries’ worth of literature both scientific and artistic have been published by women using their husbands’ names, people of color using white fronters, and otherwise disenfranchised geniuses forced to rely on better-connected backers.  Anywhoo, I honestly don’t think there would be a fight even if a yeerk did make art, because I’m pretty sure the human would win.
  • Third: let’s talk war reparations.  Humans tend to suck at them, and tend to prefer revenge to reconstruction, but generally speaking people tend to try to help other people who have suffered as a result of war (as long as it comes at minimal inconvenience to themselves, of course) which is why we’ve got the G.I. Bill in the U.S., which is why Germany has outlawed NeoNaziism, and which is why the phrase “never again” strikes such a chord with so many groups.  Ergo, assuming that the war happened and the humans came out the other side, it’s probably safe to say that the humans are at least making a half-assed effort to acknowledge that “oh lord what the yeerks did was OBJECTIVELY TERRIBLE” and therefore would probably just err on the side of granting rights to the humans.
  • Fourth, copyright law might not work like that.  Now, I don’t know shit about copyright law, but what I do know is that once a copyright has been filed and is on record, it’s heckin hard to get that copyright changed.  Generally it would involve a GINORMOUS civil case and some really strong evidence that someone currently uncredited with a particular output definitely inarguably beyondallreasonabledoubtedly contributed to the process of creating that output.  The few cases of Person A suing Person B for rights to a piece of art that I’ve ever read about have tended to go with the “Possession is nine-tenths of the law” principle (AKA if Person A’s name is on the piece of art then everyone defaults to assuming it belongs to Person A) with a side of “Can we all just exchange money and stop fighting?” (AKA everyone loves out-of-court settlements because generally speaking everyone benefits).  So if a yeerk was challenging a human over the rights to a piece of art that would have the human’s name on it anyway (because yeerks putting out art in their own names that would be recognized by humans enough to have legal issues would be hella suspicious), and if the human and the yeerk were both like “dude, I wrote this”…. Then I would assume that 99.99% of cases would end with the judge being like “go away and stop wasting my time, yeerk claimant,” or saying “take a little money and then go away, yeerk claimant” and at some point there would be enough precedent that the yeerks would get screwed.
  • Fifth… Sorry to the yeerk fans of the world, but I don’t give a crap if the yeerks do get screwed.  If the host was voluntary and working with the yeerk to put out art, then there shouldn’t be an issue.  If the host was enslaved to the yeerk and being used as a puppet to make stuff the yeerk wanted to make, then the yeerk kinda deserves to get screwed out of anything they used a slave to make.

Tl;dr: The issue of copyrighting assumes a) that yeerks put out art humans can appreciate, b) that yeerks have enough status in human society post-war to even attempt any claims, c) that any judge wouldn’t just say “the human deserves the rights” and call it a day, d) that there’s enough ambiguity left in the authorship of a piece of art with the human’s name on it to create space for conflict, and e) that there would be any “justice” in letting an involuntary host and a human-assaulting yeerk share credit for a work.  I’m not sure any of those assumptions is necessarily backed by sociology, history, jurisprudence, or the Word of Our God and Savior K.A. Applegate.

49) What’s your doggy dream team?

Hmm, I’m assuming this means what I’d like in my pack? It would be mostly Belgian Malinois. I also want at least two German Shepherds, another Mudi or two, a brindle Border Collie, and a West Siberian Laika. There’s a few other breeds I could easily toss in but at the end of the day I like active, fun dogs that love to train.

51) What’s something that you wanted to accomplish with your dog and did?

Turning Voodoo into my service dog. When the idea came up, everyone and I do mean

advised against it because you apparently have to be super human with forty years of dog training experience to own a malinois and trying to turn one into an SD is looked upon as crime against the breed. However, he’s not my first malinois and I knew what I was signing up for in taking the challenge on. It might not have been an easy task, but we did it. He’s an amazing dog and is able to do exactly what I need.

52) What are some goals you have for your dog?

Depends on which one it is. Voodoo? I’ve already achieved our main goal. Anything else with him is icing on the cake. Djinn is a pet, he has no goals other than to flatten me for cuddles on a daily basis. Milinka is basically the same, with added guard duties which she takes very seriously. Khaleesi, eventually I like to put an agility title on her but right now we’re working through her fear issues. Nemesis will get a bite sports title and eventually agility and herding. Most likely we’ll be going the route of IPO since the PSA club is too far away for us to get to with the work schedules.

54) What is/are your favorite dogblr(s)?

Hmm there’s so many. @crippledhockwalker @doberbutts @6woofs @dantes-divine-comedy @tempurafriedhappiness @quichehound @malinoiscrew are just a few of them.

74) Share the first picture you saw/took of your dog

Djinn’s on the right.

Khaleesi - I can’t find the first set of pictures her breeder sent to me for some reason.

Nemesis is the puppy trying to climb over her brother’s back.

75) Share your favorite picture of your dog

There’s so, so many.   Probably this one. It may not be the best quality photo of him that I have, but he’s doing what he loves to do.
