16 miles, lots of calories, wind that literally tried to blow me to Kansas, at least 5 diff large group of road bikers all in full gear (I still think that is kind of egotistical, you gotta put on your special race gear to ride in formation for practice? Isn’t that like putting on a suit to go pee?).
It was a good ride, I turned around at the 41st st park and got to see all the families playing and having fun while I caught my breath. Reminds you, as a single person, that there’s so much you are missing but also makes you smile because there’s a lot of kid energy there to take in and you ride for a while smiling.
Did I mention the wind? On the way there, it was kind of sideways and behind me, so the ride was smooth. But the way back, it was like every bit of wind in the world was slamming into me with gale force. When my leg was at full strength, I’d ride into that no problem, maybe slow but no problem. Now, I have to get a little help from the motor. But I still worked hard.
And now that I’ve ridden, I can relax. Of course I may end up riding later too because I’m coocoo for cocopuffs. Or just save it for tomorrow. My goal is 10m on weekdays and 16 on weekends… then in a few weeks, 16 weekdays and 20 on weekends. And I’ll go out later and walk some in the new boots to practice. I do need some hiking socks too, mine work but they arent meant for that and dont wick well. I need Wiccan socks to hike in, witch I can buy at the store. Ha, see what I did there?
Anyway, had a salad for lunch, going to much on a soft pretzel, and watching the Natch.
