“I admit, I was afraid to love. Not just love, but to love her. For she was a stunning mystery. She carried things deep inside her that no one has yet to understand, and I, I was afraid to fail, like the others. She was the ocean and I was just a boy who loved the waves but was completely terrified to swim.”
Padded German tank Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. Connor’s heart pounded in his throat when he got to the library. He really didn’t want to be here - but what choice did he have? He had to fix things. He had to tell Elijah the truth and move on. He had to.
He found Elijah in the farthest, cosiest corner of the second floor. He was hunched over a computer, the tiniest of frowns wrinkling the skin between his eyes, lower lip caught between his teeth.
“Applegate!” Connor’s voice thundered through the room, shattering the quietude and causing a few other patrons to hush him angrily. But he didn’t hear them; his attention was tunnelled, focused only on Elijah.
The boy looked up at him, a bit shocked to be yelled at like that, and as soon as he saw Connor approaching him he jumped to his feet, fists clenching and releasing.
Connor loomed over him, quite suddenly little more than a hair’s breadth away. Elijah could smell him. He smelled like burnt cinnamon.
Clench and release.
“We’re going to sort this out right now. No more side-stepping.”
Clench and release. Elijah shuddered when Connor’s hand found his sweater, clenching around his waist to make sure he didn’t bolt.
“You wanna know my dilemma? Fine.” Connor’s breath rattled in his throat, high and nervous, a sound unlike any other Elijah had heard him make. “I like you. Like like you. I’m probably entirely in love with you. So. There! Now you know.”
Elijah blinked. Clench and release. His heart pounded in his ears. Cheeks hot. Skin crawling.
I kinda wanted there to not be any endgame romance in the series, but it seems to be headed towards izuocha. Do you think it'll actually happen or not?(I'm asking because my friend said you're good at analysis)
long story short, yeah i think it’s heading in that direction
personally, i’d rather go for no romance, or maybe Kacchako to sorta change up the expectations a bit, but i do think Horikoshi is heading towards Izuocha for the endgame shipping. Ochako’s crush on Izuku is really obvious by now. Izuku hasn’t really been flustered around her for a while, but it was something that’s been set up from the beginning.
Horikoshi is playing with it a bit by having Ochako suppress her feelings towards him to focus on her ultimate goal. i think it’s Horikoshi’s way of telling the audience that romance won’t play that big of a part in the series from now on, now that her feelings are obvious to the audience. but there wouldn’t be any point in giving her these feelings if they didn’t lead to something between the characters, especially since it’s the only relationship we have so far among the main cast that has such a big romantic undertone to it
i’m sure it’ll come up later on, but for now Horikoshi is using Ochako’s feelings to push her character development. but i’m sure her feelings will be revealed to Izuku somewhere own the line, tho how and what the reaction will be is sorta debatable, and it kinda depends on where Izuku is during his growth
but yeah i think Izuocha is definitely the endgame here
here are a few other posts i’ve made on the subject [here], [here], [here], and [here]. they’re mostly me talking about my opinion of Izuocha or how i wish it were handled in canon, with mentions of Kacchako here and there, but yeah
