Sound implies a duration. Sound needs time.

Photography, as a visual medium, is a capture of fixed moments. Photography is silent.

How can you translate sound on an image ? How can you show the inner music, the screams of emotions, the background noises ?

How can you be heard on a photograph ?

What do your face, your eyes, your body say ?

Laura is a walking storm with much to say. Everything about her screams and sings. She’s a presence, articulate, warm, brilliant, on audio waves as on light particules. She makes our pictures loud.

—Sound of Silence is an experimental visual project. The first part, featuring Maya Mihindou, is up on The Photographic Journal
