Could you posts demographics for asexuals?

Like anything that involves the age column, this post is extremely image heavy, so I will be putting it behind a cut to spare mobile users some serious troubles.

41% of total respondents identified as asexual.

The orientation identity question was not exclusive, and the majority of respondents offered other orientation identities in addition to “asexual.”

John Atkinson Grimshaw (1836–1893, England)

Marine scenes

Grimshaw was an English Victorian-era artist, popular both during his time and in the present for his night-time depictions of British cities.

Grimshaw’s earliest influence was the Pre-Raphaelites. True to the Pre-Raphaelite style, he created landscapes of accurate colour and lighting, vivid detail and realism, often typifying seasons or a type of weather. Moonlit views of city and suburban streets and of the docks in London, Leeds, Liverpool and Glasgow also figured largely in his art. The focus on atmosphere, and lack of moral message or historical reference allies his work to some extent with the Aesthetic Movement.

His careful painting and his skill in lighting effects meant that he captured both the appearance and the mood of a scene in minute detail. His “paintings of dampened gas-lit streets and misty waterfronts conveyed an eerie warmth as well as alienation in the urban scene.” Later in life his colour palette shifted from dark blues to golden yellows, and towards the end of his life were hints of a change in artistic direction, with looser brushwork influenced by his friend James Abbott McNeill Whistler, who was quoted saying “I considered myself the inventor of Nocturnes until I saw Grimmy’s moonlit pictures.”

okay so i’ve been doing some investigating mainly for fun but also in an effort to try and confront some of my biases about each season of skam and the focus on each love interest and i thought it might be fun to share it with you guys, although the results probably won’t surprise many of you that much

so in order to do this i recorded 3 things:

  1. the total amount of time the love interest appears on screen
  2. the total amount of time the narrative focuses on them
  3. the number of clips they are seen/referred to in

1. is self-explanatory; 2. refers to screen time + anytime the main/characters are texting, calling, talking about, or doing something that is directly related to the love interest (ex. Isak watching romeo + juliet because of Even); and 3. because i wanted to see how consistently the narrative gave some kind of update on the main’s relationship with the love interest, so this is also more than just clips they appear in

Monet on the Run - 21. A few words about Eugène Boudin
Eugène Boudin (1824 - 1898) was an important precursor of impressionism, one of the first French painters who came to the obvious idea that landscapes should actually be painted outdoors.

Light, and the ever changing sky in particular, were life-long sources of inspiration for Boudin. Corot even called him ‘the king of the skies’.

Boudin had an important influence on the young Monet:

One day Boudin said to me: “Learn to draw well and appreciate the sea, the light and the blue sky.“ I took his advice.

Reasons Country Music is Bullshit

137: I don’t need a man with a net worth of 32.4 million to tell me money can’t buy happiness and that all I need is fried chicken, beer, and jeans. If kfc, Budweiser and wearing pants were the key to happiness I’d be content with my life already but it’s not and here you are singing a song full of poverty glorifying platitudes in what you think are blue collar clothes that you threw some dirt on to make them look worn trying to make regular people think you’re just like them when you have more money wrapped up in your fucking cowboy hat than some people have in their homes. Fuck you.

Monet on the Run - 20. An old acquaintance
At 15, Monet was earning a little money as a gifted caricaturist. One day, the landscape painter Eugène Boudin met the youngster, recognised his talent and encouraged him to pick up painting. For a while, they spent many hours together, sketching in the countryside, or admiring sunsets over the sea.

Fifteen years later, Monet must have been very pleased to run into his initial mentor and his wife, who had arrrived in Trouville on August 12, 1870.

Boudin, his senior by 16 years, spent part of his life in this small, but fashionable coastal town. His numerous paintings of the harbour and the beach are ample evidence.
