Day 01- A show that should have never been cancelled
Show’s don’t really get ‘cancelled’ in the UK. Even after a second or third series there is no assurance that the next one will be recomissioned. But programmes that I wish had had a second series are…
Nearly Famous - it wasn’t brilliant but it had potential, if it had been grounded a little more in reality (not bringing a dog to school) it could have gone on to better things. And it might have altered Aaron Johnson’s life choices, but each to their own.
Party animals - you’ve got cream of new talent, Matt Smith, Andrea Riseborough, Andrew Buchan et al. And the chance to get stuck into politics and the young people involved in politics, sure their story reached a conclusion, but there are always more stories.
The Smoking room - brilliant BBC2 sitcom set in a Smoking room. No series 3. such a shame. But it was of it’s time and wouldnt be made now!
Lab Rats - I loved this sit com but I don’t think it was popular enough to carry on. Shame. Lots of love for Chris Addison
“When we first met, I was a nomad, moving from place-to-place, job-to-job. She gave me a purpose: She taught me to believe in something bigger than myself. She taught me to fight to keep our world safe, and more recently, to keep it from dying. The truth is we’re all dying. From the moment we’re born, we are all dying, and the universe is unspeakably cruel. Our one hope is that we can find some purpose, some meaning before that last day comes. Some happiness… and love. Olivia was all of that to me. There was no one like her. While I will not cease to fight, now that she’s gone, I’m afraid I’m already lost. That we are all lost. The world is a darker place without her.”
