LITTLE STORY BEFORE YOU KILL ME FOR LOVING THIS ANIMAL
My family took in a an old pekingese dog called Gertrude (also known as Gerberos).
She was a rescue dog from a crazy dog lady who had like, 20 other pekingeses in her house. Our family friend asked us if we could give Gertrude one last home before she passes. She was 6 years old when we took her in. She lived to be 12. Our family and friends loved Gertrude. She was cuddly, wacky old lady who had been in several dog shows in her better days.
She also started howling whenever I sang something.
Hethert has inspired me to think more about the things that make me happy, so for 30 days I’m going to post about something that makes me smile. I thought about making a list of prompts, but I think being spontaneous fits my Momma Hethert better.
Feel free to join me! Whether you are a devotee of hers or not, let’s share our joy in her name. Let this be some good heka to speak some happiness into our lives. 🌻🐂💖
favourite female superhero: queen mera“For most of our history, you people just never mattered to us. Imagine if there was a race that lived upon the clouds. They would be a mere curiosity that didn’t really affect your life… until it began raining garbage night and day. That is what the last hundred years or so have been like beneath the waves.”
Day 28 - Write a letter to someone. It can be a coming out letter or a letter regarding how you hate their homophobia or whatnot. You don’t have to send it. (Yeah, not going to send it at all).
Dear Aunt Vickie, this is Maxx Bernard, and I use he/him and they/them pronouns now, if you didn’t already know.
When I first started living with you, I was able to trust you due to our bonding over how we both know that my parents are actually irresponsible. Then, I was able to trust you and be open more about my sexuality and gender identity.
Then, I started to identify more as transgender, it all changed for the both of us. You actually thought I was too young and (too disabled) to want to take hormone therapy for my own sake. You almost kicked me out for taking hormone therapy. I had to lie all of this time because there’s no going back because I never wanted to detransition in the first place.
Plus, if I detransition, it will fuck me up mentally, and you wouldn’t want that do you? Like, why would you not want me living in the house while I’m taking hormone therapy? Do you lowkey hate trans people’s presence in your household? Is that your deal?
Think about on what you’ve done to me, and how it affected me. Think about on what your children and grandchildren would think of you if they knew how you treated me.
Think about it! Hopefully in the future, you would open your mind more on the world, and maybe we’ll be able to hang out more often.
Hey! This is part of @studyquill ‘s 30 day summer challenge!
xvii. make a studyblr (or re-do it!)
Here is some advice for blogs new to the studyblr community or those of you who want to start your very own blog!
Make sure your url speaks for your blog. It is the first impression people will get from your blog so try to add a key word that shows you are a studyblr. Most people have their names + “studies”, which is a great option. Don’t let stats make you quit. The first weeks (even months) as a studyblr can be a bit boring since you won’t have many followers yet; however, don’t let that bring you down! Just keep posting and soon a lot of people will see your blog! Also, remember that studyblr is not about how many followers you have, it is about inspiration and help! Post original content. Studyblr is not only about lurking famous blogs! You can post your own ideas, notes and whatever you think will be helpful for others No fancy stationery needed. I know that studyblr is full of cute pictures featuring pricey stationery, but it is not a requirement in order to be part of the community! Like I said, it is the knowledge and the ideas which count, not the material stuff Don’t push yourself to do something you don’t need/want/like just for the sake of getting reblogs! It is okay to fail. Studyblr is all about good grades and goals but we all fail at some point in our lives and that is completely fine. Don’t let the ilussion of productivity fool you!
The proud parents of our not so little boy Aladdin!
I really loved how their relationsip went from being tsunderes, then to “senpai notice me” then to senpai noticing kouhai. xD They also seemed to really care for each other. I demand a reincarnation finale where they can live as a happy family with their son please.
Today I had the privilege of connecting with someone at work, no less! who has the same passion and enthusiasm that I do. I knew she was awesome, but I never realized how much until we actually had time to talk today. It was enlightening, inspiring, and exciting … I was more motivated and recharged by that 30 minute conversation than I have been in a long time. I feel as though I came into focus.
I know it’s easy to let the day to day bits of life wear us down. It’s draining to have the naysayers constantly suck the joy out of life, of us. Life is hard and messy. Living with our people is hard. Dealing with other people … messy and frustrating. Let’s be honest. Some people are just mean, willingly ignorant, and hateful. We all have challenges … we all have issues. We all are going to die one day. So what’s the point?
The point is that we need to LIVE. REALLY, TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY … LIVE.
So … this is my proposition. My challenge. To myself and all of you. Look for the joy, the opportunities, the little bits of life that make your heart sing. Focus on them, really pay attention to them. Seek them out.
I know we all have obligations, I am not saying to shirk them. Meet them, head on. Find the joy in those, too.
Meet Life head on … seize the joy, the happiness, the passion that you come across. Don’t apologize for it, don’t diminish it, don’t let it go. For heaven’s sake, don’t let other people make you callous, make you feel afraid or ashamed. Don’t let self-doubt gain a toe hold.
Live your dream, wear your heart on your sleeve, let your passion shine. Be YOURSELF! We are all truly amazing in our own way. TRULY. AMAZING!
Let’s make the world a better place … I know we can do it … just be being ourselves. We spread funny pictures, we share handsome men, we share our fiction, jokes, and silliness. What would happen if we spent a few minutes spreading love, acceptance, support, faith, and passion? What changes could we make? I think we can make the world, or at least our corners of it, a better place. What do you say?
DESCRIPTION?: For 30 days, you pay exclusive attention to how you feel. You deliberately choose thoughts that make you feel better over those that make you feel crappy. You also deliberately do things that you prefer to do over those you’d rather not do.
WHEN?: Starting Monday July 14th
GOAL?: To see if at the end of 30 days our lives are happier/healthier/better than they were before we started.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE?: As a way to keep each other motivated, message me and let me know that you’re participating and I will follow your blog so that I can keep up with your progress and cheer you on during this process.
NOTE: This is a 30 day experiment - You must blog or message me once a day to let me know how things are going and I’ll blog to let you know how things are going on my end.
Abe says that if we would truly pay attention to how we feel and deliberately choose things that make us happy over things that do not that at the end of 30 days we would see a significant change in our lives.
I really want to try this to see. LOA started out as a 30 day experiment for me and that was AWESOME so I’m excited about this experiment.
