Guess who watched the new X-men and is now officially Nightsilver trash?~

The magnificent @numinlavellan also drew some hilarious sketches for me that I wanted to share! I highly recommend commissioning her - she’s amazing! <3

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!!! Got a little bit of time to doodle my aasimar character a bit more and I’m slowly getting there!

I basically wanted her to not look like a generic hot woman, meaning I didn’t want that annoying same face syndrome women in some comics/games/etc seem to have… Oval face, tiny nose, …you know the deal

I am looking up ancient greek statues cause I reeeeaaally like their features <3

Also, liking Miss Kitty for a name. Or maybe Dolly?

Part 1/?

There is only one person you had your eyes on ever since you started high school, and he will never be yours. Not now, not ever. Your feet are grounded to the floor, just as the game ended as you watched his girl wearing jersey running up to him for a hug, and slowly you felt your heart begin to shatter.

You could see him smiling as his hands were wrapped around her waist, securely and filled up to joy as she screamed happily for the final football game. Your school won by a landslide, by him running toward the end goal in victory, pandemonium breaking out from the bleachers as the other team lost. But you’re here, not having the enjoyment of the win  or any of the excitement as you watch the couple. He’s swinging her around in his arms, laughing with his honey sweet voice and kissing her from her forehead and her cheeks, her lips, her nose, from the ecstasy he’s experiencing. That was when your first heartbreak destroyed you, ruining your weak heart, and the first time you felt like crushed diamonds and broken into pieces.

Kim Taehyung will never be yours.

Fibonacci Sculptures - Part II

These are 3-D printed sculptures designed to animate when spun under a strobe light. The placement of the appendages is determined by the same method nature uses in pinecones and sunflowers. The rotation speed is synchronized to the strobe so that one flash occurs every time the sculpture turns 137.5º—the golden angle. If you count the number of spirals on any of these sculptures you will find that they are always Fibonacci numbers.

Okay, so this project “Fuzzy Logic” has me much too excited for my own good. Textile geekiness AND hacking production techniques in sweet union, how could I not be!?

Adam Blencowe basically just came up with this technique of digitising felting for his graduate project at Royal College of Art: “To digitise this process, the designer hacked a standard jigsaw by building a needle holder that attaches to the blade, and adding a 3D-printed presser foot. He then mounted the modified tool onto a computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine.” Quote from this Dezeen article

In my opinion it’s perfect, because it hits that sweet spot between one-off craft production and mass scale production and fits in right where a lot of smaller design companies are. Can’t wait to see what happens with this in the future.

🎓 how to decorate a sorority grad cap! 🎓

Graduation is the perfect time to display your sorority spirit! Decorate your grad cap in memorable greek girl style with these step-by-step instructions.

Pre-Planning:

Before your trip to the craft store, plan your design on paper. The first decision is ~ do you want to cover the surface of the grad cap with scrapbook paper, or decorate directly onto the cap? Glitter paper makes an attractive base, as well as Lilly Pulitzer prints, high quality wrapping paper, maps and calendar pages.

Base your background paper decision on what you plan to “say” on your cap. If you just want greek letters, or your personal monogram, then a pattern as the base is great. But if you want a quote and lots of embellishments, then a simpler base is better. Glitter paper is probably the most popular choice for a ‘solid’ background.

Also pick your theme and sketch your design, so you know what supplies to buy. You may need to order sorority stickers or greek letters online, so allow time for delivery. The rest you can purchase at your local Hobby Lobby or Micheal’s.

Supplies You Will Need: {choose your favorite elements}

  • Grad cap
  • High quality paper
  • Hot glue gun
  • Pencil for tracing
  • Scissors
  • Pearl or rhinestone trim
  • English letters - different sizes
  • Monogram
  • Greek letters
  • Crest or other sorority symbols
  • Craft flowers
  • 3-D scrapbooking accents
  • Bow
  • Paint pens
  • Stickers/decals

STEP 1 Creating Your Base:

  • If you’re using a paper base, cut paper to size by laying the cap on top of the paper, lightly trace the shape with pencil and then cut out the square.
  • Cut a hole in the center for your tassel by laying your cut paper on top of the cap and feeling for the button. Lightly outline the circle with pencil and carefully cut a small opening.
  • Apply hot glue to the surface of the cap (all over or around the edges) and place your paper onto the cap. Press gently to make sure the paper is firmly adhered to the grad cap. Allow to set for a few minutes.

STEP 2 Decorating Your Cap:

  • Determine the front and back of your cap. It must be decorated in the direction you will wear it on graduation day. Don’t craft it backwards!
  • Apply your letters (or decor) in the center of the cap. This can be your major, a message, a quote, monogram, or greek letters.
  • After your word placement, hot glue trim around the edge. Buying rhinestones or pearls in a “strand” is much easier to apply than one gemstone at a time. JoAnne Fabrics has trim in strips if you can’t find what you like at the craft store.
  • Add small accents around your main design. 3-D scrapbooking images, pearls, rhinestones, small flowers, etc.
  • Trim the center tassel hole with gemstones, bow or flowers to hide the paper cut-out if needed.
  • Attach a bow at the base of the cap if you wish. A bow can be sewn on, pinned on, or attached with hot glue. Just make sure it’s securely in place.
  • Add words and/or a date to your bow with small scrapbooking letters or a paint pen. A bow can also be embroidered with your greek letters, monogram, message, date, or other information. Take your bow to an embroidery shop and have it done in advance.

♦ 34 TOP Sayings for Grad Caps:

When picking a theme and quote for your grad cap, these are some fun ‘messages’ to consider!

  • Sorority motto!
  • Thanks Mom & Dad
  • Just did it
  • About time
  • Adventure is out there
  • Never grow up
  • The best is yet to come
  • Fortune favors the brave
  • She believed she could so she did
  • Next stop everywhere
  • Oh the places you’ll go
  • Now hotter by one degree
  • Dreams do come true
  • Life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness
  • Keep calm grad on
  • Mischief managed
  • Every end has a new beginning
  • All things are possible
  • A world of possibilities awaits
  • Four years later
  • Be the change
  • If you can dream it, you can do it
  • The rest is still unwritten
  • Faith, hope & love
  • She lived happily every after
  • Peace out
  • It’s time to see what I can do
  • Thanks for the memories
  • Close my eyes and leap
  • She turned her can’t into plans & her dreams into plans
  • Class dismissed
  • To infinity and beyond
  • May the odds be ever in your favor

"#if only my uterus could grow a golden retriever" GOD RIGHT i'm p sure we've talked about this but if only my uterus could be home puppies or kittens it wouldn't be so useless and hated

Right? Stupid poorly designed 3-d flesh printer.  I don’t want a human! They need dental care and college and you get in A LOT of trouble if you leave them in a crate while you’re at work.

Hopefully the Shulamith Firestone inspired robot wombs will have a “puppies and/or kittens” option on the dial.

CHIBI TOY BONNIE

Design belongs to @ehuante!

So, as you can see, next to every picture of the chibi, there are crayons, pencils, markers and a high lighter.

-The first picture shows the marker that I do the line art with. It’s thin around 0.4.

-The second picture shows a pencil that I do the skin with, and a crayon (light pink) that I do the shadow with.

-The third picture shows the two markers that i used to color the hair.

-The Fourth picture shows the marker and the two crayons that I used to do the upper clothing.

-The fifth picture shows the crayons, marker and pencil that I continued coloring the clothing with. I used the pencil for the blouse, the marker for the shadow of the skirt and the crayons for the bows.

-The sixth picture shows the pencils and the crayon that I used for the coloring.

-The seventh picture shows the high lighter that I use for highlighting.

And the final picture shows the final thing. :>

For the anon who asked about the things I color with, there ya go, and also, if someone else was curious, then there ya go. :D

Hope you like it! ☺♥☺

THE TIP-OFF: HOW TO BE A SOCIAL MEDIA SKINCARE STAR

Go ahead, break the internet with your beautiful skin.

We all follow social media stars whose lives we secretly want to live vicariously through—whether it’s their exotic vacations, fancy dinners, or selfies that get more likes than there are people living in Rhode Island. We’ve taken some notes from some of our favorite beauty It Girls to see how they talk skincare on their accounts. Why? So, we can start gathering a following all our own—as well as up our skincare game in the meantime. Here, The Sephora Glossy rounds up the best practices to turn into a social media skincare star. JESSICA VELEZ

#Shelfies

It’s long been a taboo to take a peep into your friend’s medicine cabinet and steal her beauty secrets. But now, she’s displaying them front and center and even posting them on The Gram.

Social media stars are captioning these types of post with the hashtag: #shelfies. These put the products you want the world to know you (and your skin!) are madly in love with, so you put them on the shelf like it’s a trinket you picked up on your last trip to a faraway land. To follow the trend, pick a potent product with beautiful packaging—such as Fresh Black Tea Age Delay Firming Serum’s apothecary-like bottle—or a cool deep-cleansing tool such as FOREO LUNA 2. Both products help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, mind you. Then, point and shoot, and you’re on your way to social media stardom.

#Empties

An empty bottle normally would send us in a state of despair, longing for just one more drop or squeeze of our favorite formula. But in the day and age where we like to show off that we’re investing in our skin more than we change our profile pic, it’s now an accomplishment worth cashing in on some bragging points. That’s where #Empties come in. We’re addicted to these posts because we want to know which products our favorite stars are loving. Loving so much, in fact, that they’re willing to scoop up every last bit like it’s cookie dough ice cream instead of an anti-aging cream. Reserve this type of post for something you use every day, without fail, and already have another one on the way in the mail. Dr. Brandt Skincare Needles No More 3-D Filler Mask is designed to be savored and you’ll want to show off its visibly plumping results just as much as its empty jar. And since it’s obviously an amazing and imperative part of your routine, tell the world how happy it makes your skin by leaving a review at sephora.com.

#SundayNightSkincare

We have a love-hate relationship with Sundays. Sure, we get to sleep in and lounge at the park all day, but eventually, that Sunday sadness comes in a little too early. We pick ourselves right back up by pampering with a Sunday night skincare regimen that rivals a spa. This is the time to slather on a luxurious product, like Murad Eye Lift Firming Treatment, that you don’t use every day. Use the hashtag #SundayNightSkincare so your followers know why your eyes are always so youthful-looking on Monday morning.

#WokeUpLikeThis

This hashtag trend speaks for itself. But if you haven’t looked at your feed lately, people use it when they’re feeling confident in their beauty—whether they’ve literally just woken up in bed, or are conceptually feeling truly like themselves with perfect makeup and hair. For the former kind, grab a Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic + Retinol Wrinkle Recovery Peel from your bedside drawer, let it work its radiance-boosting effect, and post! Then, get ready to greet the day with as much natural-looking grace as the world’s most-pampered pop stars.

#NoFilter

Thought this hashtag was just for sunsets? No way. The truth is, everyone is so used to seeing X-Pro II blowing out any skin imperfections, that a selfie with #NoFilter is a refreshing ode to an authentic, beautiful, natural face. When you use this hashtag, you let people know that nothing comes between you and the camera…well, except for a powerhouse anti-ager like Kate Somerville DermalQuench Liquid Lift + Retinol. When you start to see those ‘likes’ roll in, don’t worry, your secret’s safe with us.

#MaskSelfie

The #maskselfie is a beauty girl’s social media bread and butter. Not only does it look really cute, but it shows the world that you’re all about adding in a little “me” time into your schedule. Throw your hair in a bun, brew a hot mug of ginseng tea, and paste on a mask like GLAMGLOW Gravity Mud Firming Treatment to get started. While the silver-foil finish is catnip for double-tappers, the formula’s visibly tightening effect is like Pilates for your face. Then, choose your best angle and practice your “oh, you just caught me relaxing” face on. Even better than all the ‘likes’ your selfie gets is all the anti-aging benefits you’ll see once you wash it off.
