3 and a half seasons

anonymous asked:

Sooo in Season 3 we saw female (half) Galra, sooo how is that nobody is talking about the 3 ? Female Galra roldiers in season 4 !!!! (still debating if one of the 3 guards in Naxzela when Voltron descends is Female or not)

I know this sounds harsh, but - I’m actually a bit mad about that. They kept female Galra out of the series. They didn’t even show them (other than the generals) at Lotor’s unveiling, and then in season 4, female commanders just show up all over the empire? That…makes no sense. It was more like, “Oops! Sorry we screwed up. Here’s a lot of female Galra.”

I don’t care if they wanted to hold off showing female Galra until Lotor’s generals. That isn’t a big enough reveal for the creators to hold more female Galra, especially since Lotor was known to be surrounded by women before. To me, the reveal is the half-Galra-ness, especially if Lotor might take Keith as one of his generals.

TL;DR: Too little, too late. Female Galra should have been part of the series up front.

y’all: omg keith & lance didn’t interact for like 5 episodes & are separated for a couple months, klance is dead!!

korra & asami, who were separated for 3 YEARS & didn’t even see each other for like half of the last season of tlok, and even after that didn’t interact v much in that season and were still endgame: you are like little baby watch this

So it was revealed in the newest Voltron trailer that in order for someone to take the Galra Throne if they are not of lineage they have to fight for their honor against the current ruler, and gain the throne if they win. So what if Keith fights against Lotor and wins, claiming the throne while becoming the new ruler for the Galra Empire, and winds up stopping the war and bringing peace to the Universe with Voltron?

The trouble with liking Black Butler:
  • Person: So what animes do you like?
  • Me: Black Butler, the first half of season 1 and season 3, as well as the Book of the Atla-
  • Person: What about season 2?
  • Me: It doesn't exist.

someone: hey why are you crying?

me: no reason!! :) im good

my brain: in episode 6 of season 2 the nightmare that keith had was specifically about him giving into his heritage as a galra and becoming a part of their ranks… and given the fact that lotor’s generals are specifically all only half galra, much like keith, in season 3 there could be an underlying plot line about lotor trying to get keith to do that and join their ranks but!!!!!! he doesnt want to!!!!!!!!!!! hes afraid of his heritage and hes afraid of giving into it…………i swear to god if lotor lays even one crusty little finger on keith im gonna use the sheer force of my love for keith to insert myself into voltron and kick his ASS

Voltron Season 3 Thoughts

Okay, here’s my quick thoughts on Voltron Season 3:

- It felt like half a season, so I’m assuming it was and what we’re getting in October will be the rest of it, even if it’s called season 4.

- I don’t think the whole “who flies what lion” issue is resolved and that it will come back to bite us in the ass in October.

- I don’t trust Shiro and this makes me very uncomfortable.

- The middle episodes were a little confusing? And choppy?

- Allura’s bayard is awesome.

- I’m sad we didn’t get to see more focus on the “new” team developing like we got in season 1. Poor Allura didn’t get the attention she deserved.

- Sven and Slav, lol.

-  “Look, I’m glad we’re all making fun of Lance.” Keith, my guy. Thank you.

- Lance going to Keith about his insecurities. There were quite a few Keith and Lance moments actually, which I loved. But I can’t help but feel that even though Keith gave Lance a winning smile and tried to reassure him, this issue will crop up in October. Something is going to happen there and I get the feeling Lance is going to pay the price. And since Keith is becoming more dependent on Lance as his right hand, it will be… I’m not looking forward to this.

- Lance and Allura moments in the beginning.

- Alternate realities?! Holy fuck! So Slav’s entire character was foreshadowing?! Did not see that coming.

- Um, I cried during the final episode with the paladin history, omg. That whole story was really heartbreaking. Especially with Haggar at the end being, like, husband? Wah? So how does Lotor fit into this? What are the family dynamics then? Very interesting.

- Baby Zarkon was a huge fucking dork and I loved it.

- Lotor is great and I love him. A+ boy, good boy, precious son. And his generals were just as badass as I expected. A++, great ladies, love it.

- Lance being supportive but also hyper-critical of Keith at the same time. Their dynamic never ceases to amuse me.

- No Matt–that must be from Season October.

- Okay, seriously, you redesigned Shiro, but his hair is still so stupid? Like, c’mon now.

- Lance being a leader and a serious character, and Hunk also being a serious character. They’ve both matured, but I’m sad we didn’t, like, see it? Like this whole season was a lot of “telling” instead of “showing,” and then “showing” without enough context. We didn’t get to see much development of anyone (except Keith and Lance’s relationship) so that’s kinda sad.

- Shiro chasing after Voltron was super sad and heartbreaking.

- There’s something up with that cat and his lady.

- I love Baby Zarkon. Save him, poor awkward son.

- Good all around. It wasn’t season 1, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. Solid.

Does the second half of S4 parallel S1?

it’s strange because the first half of season 4 had A LOT of parallels of season 3 but now this second half?

The more I think about it, the more it parallels season 1, so here we go.

Losing Friends

Vs.

Just like Eva Sana is feeling alone and out of touch with the people she loves the most. She doesn’t know how to fix the rift…so she doesn’t, but still she wants to so bad. she misses them and watching them from afar because she no longer can belong with them…is tearing her apart. Just like Eva in season 1.

Social media rubbing their new friends in their faces

vs

we then get a true sense of the isolation between the two when they both sit at home alone and watch their friends…literally replace them. That’s what it feels like for both Eva and Sana. and after they both see these social media posts and drives them to get up and do something about it. “don’t let yourself be a victim” as doctor phil says to Eva and “don’t live in fear” as Nas tells Sana…it’s too similar and I love it

Benchy Buddies

vs.

Not only are they both sitting on the same bench, with the same person, on THE SAME SIDE, but it is insane that Isak has served as a focal point in both of their painful dramas of secrets. in Eva’s season Isak revealed her lies to Iben, in Sana’s….Isak still revealed Sara’s lies by Sana getting access of them from Isak’s account. so essentially the truth came out and disaster happened because of Isak in both seasons…w i l d

Trying to muster up the courage to make things better

vs

I talked about this shot earlier today but oh my god I can’t believe how similar they are. The only difference is the change in time and the main character. This shows how 3 seasons later we are still in the same place. but this time with Sana. How we all feel isolation, misunderstanding and shame and how it never goes away. It is forever and it comes with being human. no matter who you are we all feel this pain, fear, and sadness. Both Eva and Sana felt like outsiders in their school.

Confiding in someone about their mistake right before it hits them in the face

vs

Just like Eva, Sana could not hold it in anymore and chose to confide in someone about the saranors2 account. Just like Isak (but with purer intentions) Chris advised Sana to not tell. I actually find this parallel really cool because in season 1 Eva was scared of losing Jonas and Jonas not forgiving her but in this scene Sana is actually afraid of Eva never forgiving her. It is like we have gone full circle in skam world. Eva has gone from the girl begging for forgiveness from her mistakes to…being the one who needs to do the forgiving… hmm

Voicemail

vs

wow, so we have literally gone from season 1 where Eva is calling Isak after the reveal and getting voicemail, to Sana calling EVA after the reveal and getting voicemail. I think this was very intentional.

Pain

vs

Eva and Sana both get told that the people they love are incredibly heartbroken with them right now in a very similar way. Both with other people involved (Isak and Chris) and both with a phone…and then they break knowing that forgiveness is not going to be easy and they are both alone. They both fucked up and now they are alone and it is heartbreaking.

what does this s1 parallel mean?

Season 1 was the beginning, Season 4 is the end. The parallels are evident and I think it is because Julie wants to remind us why she made skam. Reminding us what it’s really about. I know with the girl squads current behaviour it doesn’t make sense just yet, but it will. and I wonder if this is also reflecting on Eva’s character now? She has gone from the character who we are crying with and hoping to god she can make friends and be happy to….being the girl we are screaming at to listen to Sana and FORGIVE HER.

which is amazing because Julie is doing what skam has always meant to do.

she is showing us every single side, corner, and edge of every character on this show. By doing this to Eva though is even more powerful because she was our first main. she is our firstborn who’s pov we all witnessed and now Julie is showing how we all make mistakes, we all get mad, we all are the person who needs to forgive, or the person who needs to talk. and each of these characters have had a turn to be each other if you think about it.

Because now it’s Eva’s turn to be season 1 Ingrid…who needs to stop, and listen to what Sana has to say as they cry and forgive each other <3
