Learning Opportunities: CSR, Sustainability & More

Lynn Fergusson, with 2H2M, sent me this newsletter recently full of great opportunities for learning more about sustainability, CSR, and employee volunteering. Maybe there’s something here for you?

2H2M’s mission is to help organizations give back strategically, in a way that helps the company, its employees, and the non-profits and communities it supports. To fulfill this mission, 2H2M may also help non-profit organizations leverage company support.

It’s that time of year again, and if you’re thinking it’s time to head back to school yourself or for your employees, here are some upcoming learning opportunities to consider:

“Doing Good, Right”: Strategic Volunteering for Companies and Individuals, a workshop I’m delivering through the Executive Education program at the DeGroote School of Business in Burlington, Nov 7 and Dec 2.

Bay Area Leadership ‘Experience in Action’, an experiential program through Volunteer Hamilton for individuals to work together across sectors to enhance their community leadership potential, understanding of community issues and role as collaborative catalysts for positive change.

“Corporate Social Responsibility won’t save the planet” presented by Kelly Hawke Baxter, Executive Director of the Natural Step, hosted by the Toronto Sustainability Speaker Series.

From Imagine Canada, webcasts on Best Practices in Corporate Community Involvement and Best Practices in Corporate and Foundation Fundraising.

Certificate in Community Engagement, Leadership, and Development from Ryerson  for community practitioners in public and social profit sectors to engage community members effectively in planning, problem solving, and decision-making.

And from Tamarack, an Institute for Community Engagement, 2 3-day workshops this fall, Communities Collaborating Institute: Leadership That Transforms Communities and Evaluating Community Impact.

Enjoy hitting the books and expanding your horizons to improve your community!

All the best,
