Cropping & Editing Icons in GIMP

Hello everyone!

This is Bubbles-mod here with your second tutorial! Like Jerry-mod, I’ll also be going from start to finish on how I crop and edit icons on the wonderful program known as GIMP. GIMP is a lovely alternative for anyone that’s seeking Photoshop and cannot afford it because – guess what? It’s free! It’s also able to run on Windows, Mac OS, and Linux which makes it very versatile. Whether you’re an old timer with GIMP like myself, or a newbie, I’ll guide you through the many steps on how to complete this. And if you don’t have GIMP and wish to learn with this tutorial you can grab it from here!

That being said there is a few things you might need while working with this tutorial.


                                          Important things to have

  • Of course having a method of downloading your video is a must. So there’s many sources you can get videos from, youtubemp4s converters and also Kissanime/Kisscartoon (the latter once they get the site back up and running).
  • Next you’ll need your trusty GIMP program.
  • Then we’ll need my favorite plugin: BIMP – the Batch Image Manipulation Plugin which you can also get from here. Now if you’re not familiar installing Plugins, I recommend following the instructions they have there as this won’t be the main focus of my tutorial.
  • Finally, you’ll want a frame ripper. The one I tend to use DVDVideoSoft’s Video to JPG
  • One other script that can be added is the ExportAll script. This just allows you save all the images you have opened at one time to a location. This comes in handy if you don’t want to save images one by one later on while cropping. It is not necessary needed. Remember to add it to GIMP like you would any other script/plugin.

Now, this is going to get a bit image heavy so I’m going to be putting everything under a cut from this point on. Good luck and happy iconing everyone!

Bad workouts, we all have them!

Learn the difference between pushing yourself through a workout and getting through those aches and knowing when you are injured and need to stop. Not every workout will go as planned and that’s okay. Look after yourself before anything else.

Today I was running and my aim was to run for 25 minutes straight, I got to 15 and my foot was really sore. I was getting a blister and the worst stitch in my side that I tried to push through. I could my foot aching yesterday but today it was really rubbing and painful. I knew I could make it to 25 minutes but I had to stop. I was a mix of angry and frustrated. The worst thing is knowing you can do something, you can push through that extra mile or get that extra rep but sometimes it’s not worth it. I had to think about how sore my instep was and stop. I want to get my gait measured tomorrow and look into getting some new shoes.

Understand what your body is telling you and if it needs to heal, let it. Have rest days and relax. Then come back and push it even harder at your next workout. 

NextGen Adopt update

So for anyone here who’s possibly interested in adopting one of the nextgen designs, this is the post for ya!

Given how many folks were asking for early access to some of the designs and a possible time-change due to work, this is the updated info for the sale:


The sale for the designs will take place Saturday at 4 PM Eastern Time.

In terms of holding a next gen: asking to claim a design early is acceptable, however the price of the character in question will increase by $15 extra. This is mainly because you’re getting early access to a character before anyone else.

The limit to this is that you can only claim 1 design early, and that’s it. You’ll have to be quick on the draw for the others you’re interested on sales day in if you want them! Also though, please know that you can’t claim a character and then just hold it; that’s not fair to anyone else interested in that design. You must be ready to pay before the sale starts; if you can’t do that and you try to claim a character without the ability to pay for the early access, the claim on said character will be revoked and the design will go up for sale as originally planned.
 

More of the designs were picked up this way, which I wasn’t really expecting, so the “early access” thing will probably be only limited to like 3 slots for whenever I do the adopts again. That said, these are the characters that are still available as of now:

Carve out alone time

“Relaxation is tough because everything is always going 100 miles an hour, especially in a job like mine, when you’re on a set for 16 hours a day and there are 150 people around you all of the time. What I’ve learned through trial and error over the years is that you can really create big change with small moments, and you have to start injecting those moments into your life with little incremental changes.

"So with me, knowing that I get pretty drained being on set, I have started changing what that habit looks like. I come into work earlier, I give myself an extra half an hour in the morning. I go through hair and makeup. I have breakfast and then I’m done while everyone else is still getting ready and doing their thing. So I have half an hour to myself and I’ll sit in my trailer, do a meditation app, stretch (especially if I have a big scene of stunts coming up).

"I love the people that I work with, but I don’t have to have lunch with them everyday, 10 months of the year. I now hang out with everyone for eight hours on set. But at lunchtime, those 20 minutes are mine to sit by myself and that’s where I practice self-care. Maybe I do 25 sit-ups, or maybe I just lay on the floor with my dog and it’s so good.”

Meditate in the morning

Meditation wakes you up. Someone asked me, ‘Don’t you meditate before you go to bed?’ If I meditated before I went to bed, I’d never sleep. For me, to meditate in the morning before things get going on set, that sets the tone of my whole day and I notice that I don’t feel as happy or as calm when I don’t. Taking time for you actually has a ripple effect in how your entire day goes and how you are with others. I get more stressed when I’m not meditating, so it’s not only a way to practice self-care, it’s also a way to be a better performer at work.”

Give yourself a break

“I’m nowhere near perfect. I don’t meditate everyday. But, I do what I can, when I can. Creating that habit has also created the bigger change in just accepting what I can do at that time. One day I’ll eat really healthy and go for a walk and think 'I earned all the wellness points.’ But then the next day, I’ll eat a bunch of Thai food, sleep in, and not answer any emails, but so what? We’re only human.”

Repeat this mantra

“My best friend Nia said something to me years ago, she just said, 'Whatever it is, let it be enough,’ and I think about that all the time: Let it be enough. And I find that when I take moments of pause, those are the thoughts that I can come back to.”

Be bold

Find your happy song

One of my best friends is an artist called Betty Who and her albums are the best. Her new record, The Valley, just came out and literally I listen to “Mama Say” on repeat. I listen to it all day, every day. Sometimes in the morning I won’t meditate and just put on Betty Who and have a dance party of one in my trailer, and it puts me in a great mood for the rest of the day.

25. “You make me nervous, and happy, and horny, all at the same time and it’s confusing as fuck sometimes”.

“You’ve been avoiding me all day, Princess”. Jake said as he plopped down on the hammock with her, making her almost lose her balance and fall from the thing. “What’s your problem?” He asked before taking a sip from her beer bottle.

“I don’t have a problem”. She grunted, crossing her arms over her chest as she did so. The girl avoided looking at the pilot, instead focusing her gaze on the unmoving clouds that hid the sun or the palm trees.

“Sure you don’t”. He answered sarcastically. “There’s no reason you aren’t looking at me right now, or that you frown every time I enter the room, or that you practically run away from me whenever we could be alone”. He explained in the same voice.

“Fine, you wanna know what my problem is, Jake?” She groaned, finally turning to look at him, eyes ablaze. “You make me nervous, and happy, and horny, all at the same time and it’s confusing as fuck sometimes”. She confessed, poking in the chest with each word. “You’re confusing as fuck. One day, you’re sweet and on my side, and the next you’re cold and unattached. Stop sending me mixed signals and tell me if there’s even a remote chance that we end up in your bed together”. She breathed out.

He pressed his lips against her, roughly and needy, his fingers gripping her hair tightly, pushing her against him. He groaned against her mouth when she pulled at his upper lip with her teeth, his head dizzy from desire and beer.

“Too much?” She asked when he stopped the kiss.

“Nah, just dorky and a little on the nose. Classic Princess”. Jake replied, chuckling a bit after he playfully hit his shoulder before kissing her again, this time softer than before, enjoying the softness her lips provided him.

1. Make peace with your parents. Whether you finally recognize that they actually have your best interests in mind or you forgive them for being flawed human beings, you can’t happily enter adulthood with that familial brand of resentment.

2. Kiss someone you think is out of your league; kiss models and med students and entrepreneurs with part-time lives in Dubai and don’t worry about if they’re going to call you afterward.

20. Take advantage of health insurance while you have it.

21. Make a habit of telling people how you feel, whether it means writing a gushing fan-girl email to someone whose work you love or telling your boss why you deserve a raise.

22. Date someone who says, “I love you” first.

23. Leave the country under the premise of “finding yourself.” This will be unsuccessful. Places do not change people. Instead, do a lot of solo drinking, read a lot of books, have sex in dirty hostels, and come home when you start to miss it.

24. Suck it up and buy a Macbook Pro.

25. Quit that job that’s making you miserable, end the relationship that makes you act like a lunatic, lose the friend whose sole purpose in life is making you feel like you’re perpetually on the verge of vomiting. - Mix lemon & sugar on your lips (helps reducing scars and uneven color)

- Do 40 squats, 25 donkey kicks and 25 forward lunge per day (butt exercise)

- Eat as much fruit or vegetables a day

- Drink atleast 1 liter of water per day

-Try to sleep on your back with your face up (it elevates your face)

- Find more positive in things (helps reducing anxiety & negativity)

- Smile wide more often (helps increasing cheek bones)

I’ve never heard of that being a thing over there… lol never heard any Chinese person celeb not celeb ever mentioning such a practice where did you hear that or get that idea from?? If you got it from like Mulan that’s a Disney movie and very dramatized and set way waaayyy back in the day 100s and 100s of years lol like back then it was a thing but that’s not a common practice anymore at least in China like here and now in this day and age nah it not a thing lol especially not for a millennial and a celeb like jacks… .

Books because well you learn so much more there than you do in movies just because they have a time limit and budget restriction. And movies are being interpreted by another person so their view of it is slightly different than the original writer. You know? We all see things differently you know.

8 tips on getting started

Getting started is the hardest part of studying. Once you’re ‘in the flow’ it’s usually easier to keep going, but to sit down, open that book and get to work is the most difficult task. Here are my eight tips to overcome starting anxiety.

1. Organise your study spot. You’ve probably already heard this before, but a messy desk is one of the least motivating things. Do a big desk decluttering and try to keep it that way.

2. Use the pomodoro technique. 25 minutes study, 5 minutes break. In this way you’ll know that in 25 minutes that break is coming, whether you’ve finished that chapter or not. Not only can this motivate you to buckle down for 25 minutes, it also makes sure you don’t overwork yourself by forgetting to take breaks.

I love to use the Pomotodo app, which combines a Pomodoro timer with to do lists. Plus you can change the time of study sessions.

3. Pretty stationary. This seems so stupid. ‘Oh, that’s just your excuse to buy yet ANOTHER notebook’. But no, having five sets of coloured pens and twenty backup notebooks and a drawer full of post its, really made me want to study.

4. Studyblr. Okay, this seems stupid as well, but I made a completely new Tumblr account on which I follow studyblrs only. I set it on my mobile app and opening it is one of the first thing I do in the morning. Having all those ambitious studying people on your dash will motivate you to move your ass too.

5. Start with the easiest. Sometimes it’s best to start with the hardest, because otherwise you keep procrastinating that part. But sometimes the hardest is so hard it keeps you from starting at all. When I find myself completely unmotivated to start, I try to start with the shortest chapter, the simplest assignment, or the most INTERESTING TOPIC. (see 6)

6. Become interested. There are two ways to do this. The first is “If I study this topic, I will later be able to use that information in that situation.” (eg. in your dream profession) The second is “I only know this and this about this topic, but it would be cool if I also knew that.” This doesn’t work for everyone, but I think it’s word the try.

7. Set a daily goal and stick to it. Eg. “Today I revise chapter 2 & 3”. Do nothing less and nothing more. If you’re already done with that at 4pm, good for you! You deserved this night off. Another example. “Today I will set up an outline for my essay.” Don’t write the introduction, don’t elaborate on all points.
If you know that when it’s done, it’s really done, it will be easier to start.

8. Make sure you’re comfortable. Clothes, clean hair, nice background music or silence, proper chair, proper light, etcetera. Simple, but important.

Only if it’s somewhere I think I’ll have to navigate in the dark. Or staircases. I’ve eaten it on one too many dark staircases to not pay attention to these things.

to me, it makes the most sense if daichi and suga were the first because i feel like…… they already act like parents to the rest of the team, theyre already basically married, so,,

i think the rest of the team would not really be surprised, and they’d be happy and they’d all fight over who is going to be the best uncle to the kid. they are all helpful and supportive and excited

but i base this on there being no real early accidental pregnancies like whether or not their kid is planned it happens after they’re out of college and have jobs, like, maybe when theyre 25 or 26 or 27??

but its also Very Fun to imagine different possible futures where this is not the case
