[25 Days of Outlander] [Favorite
Scene Not in the Book] [2x09 | Je Suis Prest] [Combat Nurse Claire | The PTSD Arc]
Smart. Positive. Funny. Scared. Guilty. Brave. Broken. Determined. In just one episode arc, we see Claire go through all these attributes, and get Claire!Backstory and the origins of Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ!
I will never not love Matt B. Roberts for finally expanding upon how Claire’s WWII experience affected her, especially in the midst of yet another war. Though we know her background, it’s gratifying for Claire to finally have room to speak about it. Best of all, we get to see Jamie learn that bit a about Claire he’s never known before and have their relationship strengthen because of it. Because, like Claire said, “My husband and I share everything,” including the ghosts of past (future?) lives.
“Listen to me, if I– if I go back then it will just be like lying in that ditch again. Helpless and powerless to move like a dragonfly in amber. Except this time it will be worse. Because I’ll know the people out there dying alone are people I know. P e o p l e I l o v e. I can’t do that, Jamie. I won’t lie in that ditch again. I can’t be helpless and alone ever again. Do you hear me?”
“I hear you. I promise, whatever happens you’ll never be alone again.”
Matt Roberts, The Hollywood Reporter: In the book, this section for Claire is very internal. She’s thinking a lot… We thought that it wouldn’t be going off book so to speak if we were just to tell part of that story, when in fact we know this all happened… I wanted to incorporate all these little exchanges and moments from all the different books into a script somehow, and so I did it with these flashbacks.
What I like to do is when our couple comes together, they solve problems with their connection. Bad things happen when they’re apart and good things happen when they’re together.
“human beings are ambitious. we spend so much time wanting, pursuing, wishing. for the most part, that’s okay. ambition is good. chasing things with integrity is good. dreaming. as long as the chase doesn’t diminish what we already have. the goodness we take for granted. the people we take for granted. the lives we take for granted. my life is good.”
23 Reasons Fleur Delacour is MUCH Cooler than you think
She’s a VERY good older sister. Do you see how much she cares for that girl and how she’s actually nice to her? Think of how many older siblings you know who are actually that nice to their younger brothers and sisters.
In general, she’s very sweet when it comes to her family: She’s quite friendly with her parents when they come for her wedding, if I’m remembering correctly.
She’s intelligent: I don’t know why so many fanfics tend to portray her as an airhead, but honestly, she’s smart: She competed in the Tri-Wizard Tournament, for goodness’ sake, she had to be.
She was a member of the Order of the Phoenix.
She wasn’t prejudiced against Muggles or Muggle-Borns; again, something some fanfic writers like to conveniently forget.
She volunteered to escort Harry from Privet Drive in Dh, despite the fact this would mean risking her life, but she was willing to do it anyway because it would mean getting Harry to safety. Hargrid wound up escorting Harry instead, but the fact she volunteered to begin with says something about her.
She allowed 5 teenagers and a goblin to temporarily live with her when she and Bill were still newlyweds.
She was the only girl who competed in the tournament, and was not intimidated by this in the slightest.
Although Fleur’s portrayed as being snobbish when talking about Hogwarts, she honestly does have some very good points: Peeves is a distraction to students and teachers alike, a menace to the caretaker, and really shouldn’t be allowed to get away with causing havoc.
She’s outspoken; she may not always be appropriate in her outspokenness, but she’s not afraid to voice her opinions.
She’s honest; she’s never told a lie.
She’s friendly; we see her chatting with Viktor and Cedric, despite being competitors.
On that note, even if she is condescending to Harry at first, to be fair, she does have good reason to be: Harry’s this 14 year old kid who somehow managed to enter this contest that is clearly not safe for him.
Repeat after me folks: Fleur Delacour is not shallow. Her opinion of Bill doesn’t change after he’s bitten.
She’s good comic relief: “I vill be good looking enough for ze both of us"indeed.
She treats Bill’s wounds herself.
She hugs Mrs. Weasley after Bill’s been attacked, despite the fact Mrs. W’s treated her quite coldly ever since she’s arrived at the Burrow.
The examples above she is of a very forgiving nature.
She can’t help the fact men make fools out of themselves around her, and doesn’t let other females’ jealousy get to her.
She participates in the Battle of Hogwarts.
She gave Harry breakfast in bed when he stayed at the burrow.
She’s quite good at nonverbal magic; remind me, how many characters in this series can do that again?
She’s nice to people even when they treat her lukewarmly.
↳ It’s your first big decision / The choice isn’t easy to make / To arrive at a ball is exciting and all / Once you’re there though it’s scary / And it’s fun to deceive / When you know you can leave / But you have to be wary.
It’s been 132 days since the shit show ended the season with a series low ratings, and I haven’t seen or heard a single person mention it since :) The shit ship still isn’t canon, plus Clarke adopted a little Lexa nightblood, and I haven’t seen blarke win a major poll yet :D But Lexa’s been dead for 579 days and she just made the top 15 on a list of the25 best female characters in the last 25 years ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
top 25 female characters (as voted by my folowers) 17. Barbara “Bobbi” Morse (agents of s.h.i.e.l.d.)
“I’ve read the HYDRA pamphlet. Didn’t your mother ever teach you, if you’re gonna talk, say something. .”
↳ You’re supposed to hate the woman. Isn’t that the standard trope? The seductress, the slut, the tramp who led your man astray. And I do. I loathe Olivia Pope. But it’s a boring sort of hate. Uninteresting, cliche. It’s hard to even get my back into it. But Fitz? I found him. I cleaned him up after that monster who raised him damaged his spirit. I am the one who told him he was someone. I am the one who cheered him on and listened to him ramble about his hopes and his dreams. I am the one who focused him. I did all the work. I did all the work and now she gets to reap the benefits? No. No, I made him. He exists because I say he exists.
