Hollywood Cemetery Cops

23 March 2013

"I used to work at a graveyard over in Fredericksburg, and there was this woman who was abused by her husband. Well, after he died, she, on her birthday and their anniversary, would bring a guy out and do him on the tombstone. The Fredericksburg police didn’t care - they just said ‘It’s her thing.’"

23220) Trigger trigger trigger. I was helping out the younger years drama production and they did a scene from the production I did in year 11 called mirror mirror which triggered my eating disorder and I just found myself shaking. I feel so bad eating today.

Fashion Exhibition: Yves Saint Laurent + Halston: Fashioning the 70s

When: February 6- April 18, 2015

Where: The Museum at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT)

Juxtaposing the work of two of the most significant designers of the 70’s, Saint Laurent and Halston, this ongoing exhibition is compelling enough to make one believe that a time capsule exists! Curator Patricia Mears, through this exhibit, tells a tale of how these two designers were extraordinarily simpatico back in the day. Since it is the first time that the ensembles of Halston and Saint Laurent’s are being displayed together, I have heard that it is difficult to differentiate between the two in just one glance. Challenge yourselves to tell the work of the designers apart and earn (valuable) bragging rights!

Fashion Film: Dior and I

Release Date: April 10, 2015 (USA)

A reticent Raf Simons working in a quintessential fashion house along with dedicated seamstresses and pattern cutters who translate the ideas of the newly minted creative director into fabric; the anxiety and anticipation of premiering the first haute couture collection in just 8 weeks – all these elements make it sound like a conventional, misunderstood documentary that would suffer from the notion that luxury fashion is superficial. But Dior and I is no conventional film. It is real, it is riveting, it is intense and it is intimate. Dior and I is Frederic Tcheng’s directorial debut and gives a rare and naturalistic glimpse into the behind the “seams” of the production stage. This is your chance at watching the excitement and exhaustion that results in the glamour that is Christian Dior Haute Couture.

Fashion Book: Mirror and Secrets by Jeromine Savignon

Published: February 2015

Savignon’s Mirror and Secrets tells the tale of the awe-inspiring couturier, Yves Saint Laurent. Featuring photographs of the designer’s chaotic and creative workspace, sketches and designs that have never been published before, this book brings to life the magic that the confines of the studio of Saint Laurent can do. Savignon follows the process of creating samples right from the mind of the legendary designer, to paper and toiles, in a manner that is illuminating and poignant.

Mirror and Secrets can be purchased online (click here to be redirected) and in select stores.

It’s #repyoset wednesday! This one goes out to the best #barbers in #RVA! #highpointbarbershop on 112 N. Meadow Street Richmond, Va 23220 is hands down full of the best talent and most fun packed into what so many of us have come to except as just a cosmetic thing we get done because we are supposed too. Being friends with @jackflav and learning that this is much more than a haircut but an art form and an experience has been something that has me always wanting to be apart of what goes on inside that shop. You walk in and everyone is welcoming you and talking game back and forth and making you feel like you are right at home. And then at the end, you walk away looking and feeling like a new person. These men take pride in their work and Art and simply put, if you don’t get your haircut here and you live in #rva then I question what you are doing with your life. Shout out to @fostercuts @rvacitybarber @jaredgalloway @_coolhand_ohara! Some of the nicest guys I know and once again the best barbers in #rva! (at RVA)
