I feel like a lot of the Naruto canon would have made a lot more sense (or at least worked better logically) if all the characters had been aged up 10 years and ninja academy would have been treated more like, idk a military academy?? Like, you literally cannot graduate from the academy if you aren't AT LEAST 16 years old, but it's much more common to graduate at 20-22. Ninja ranks meaning more than just "hey, this kid survived long enough/got strong enough than everyone else who died". (cont)

Now I can’t help imagining a Naruto manga, but instead of it being shonen, it’s seinen. All of the characters would be older, the conflicts would be a LOT more political (which would be really interesting, so see a Naruto universe where it’s much more important to work for the daimyo and to keep hidden villages, y'know, HIDDEN from the general population). BIG, industrial advancing areas of normal ppl never knowing about the existence of ninjas. Wars that never reach the general ppl.

Tbh if Naruto had been written like this is would probably have my eternal devotion even more than it already does. Can you just imagine? It would amazing and layered and awesome

My ‘Most Anticipated Films of 2014’

It’s that time of the year again! I can’t believe we’re so close to the end of 2013 already! Nonetheless, i’m looking forward to the new year and of course all the films that will be released throughout it. So without further adieu (i feel like i say this all the time… here are my most anticipated films of 2014!

'RoboCop’ (February 12th) - I remember rather fondly watching the original films when i was young and so far from what i’ve seen from the trailer this re-boot looks really good, slightly different from what i remember from the original but still nonetheless one i look forward to watching for sure!

'Captain America: The Winter Solider’ (April 4th) - I’m probably in the minority with those who thought that the first Captain America film was one of the best from the phase of the Marvel films (minus The Avengers). All i can say is that i loved the first and i hope i love this one even more!

'The Amazing Spider-man 2 (May 2nd)Spider-man, Spider-man, Does whatever a spider can. Back for round 2… or 5 depending on the way you look at it. This film definitely has a lot going for it and it could go either way. So i can’t wait to see how this film turns out.

'Godzilla’ (May 16th) - I don’t remember the last time i saw a dinosaur film - there are the Jurassic Park films but i wasn’t old enough to watch or fully experience it in cinemas, so i guess you can say that i’m looking forward to seeing Godzilla!

'How to Train Your Dragon 2’ (June 16th) - I  was rather surprised at how much i liked the first film. All i can really say right now is that i’m really glad that  there’s going to be a sequel! Bring on more Hiccup and Toothless!

'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ (June 11th) - Who could forget the moment that Caesar blurted out that infamous NOO!! Shit got real and from that moment on, i was ready for this sequel to happen as soon as possible! Only 7 months to go!

'22 Jump Street(June 13th) - Good comedies today are usually rather hard to come by and 21 Jump street was so awesomely funny and original. I really hope that this sequel will be able to do if not the same, even better!

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ (August 8th)Cowabunga! I remember watching and loving the cartoon and films as a kid, so i guess no matter who (Michael Bay) eventually got a hold of this film for a re-boot i’d end up watching it.

'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay: Part 1’ (November 21st) - I’m not too crazy about the final book being split into 2 films. There’s a 50/50 chance it won’t work and there is of course the 1 year long wait between each film but i’m confident as the first two were great that it’ll be worthwhile!

Isn’t it weird that 6 out of the 9 films i picked are sequels?!

Here are a few other films that didn’t quite make my top 9 but i’m still looking forward to seeing! (In no particular order)

— 'Welcome to Yesterday’

— ’The Maze Runner’

— ’Transformers: Age of Extinction’

— ’Guardians of the Galaxy’

— ’Need for Speed'

Fanfiction: Bits and Pieces

Genre: Family/Fluff/Comedy/Drama
Rating: PG-13, I guess?
Warnings: tiny bit of language, tiny bit of angst
Characters: Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo
Universe: 2k3
Pairings: None

Plot summary:

This is a series of unconnected drabbles inspired by the prompt set “Delta” from the 1sentence community on livejournal, all of them focused around the relationships and bonds shared by the four brothers.

The object of the exercise is to write a “one sentence fic”  for each prompt but this proved beyond my capacity and I gave myself the limit of three sentences instead. It was still a good exercise for me to challenge my ability to condense what I am trying to convey! With enough practice, I may get down to one sentence in the future, lol.

A huge thank you must go to gladrial who brainstormed with me on many of these, as shifting gears so many times was pretty tricky! Thank you so much, bae! <3.

if you enjoy this, please like and reblog!

#01 - Air

The wind whips around them as they hurtle across the rooftops, the city running in brilliant streams of gold and silver beneath their feet as they leap startling lengths from one building to the next. The night echoes with his brothers’ cries of joy and for once, Leonardo laughs and does not care.

#02 - Apples

“Thrashed your high-score by five-thousand, three hundred and seventy-two points,” Raphael grinned wolfishly at Michelangelo, who collapsed in front of the television screen, aghast. “How d’ya like them apples?”

#03 - Beginning

The silence is ripped apart by a piercing siren that seems to clang right between his ears and Raphael lurches up in his hammock only to be blinded by a glare he could swear scorches his eyeballs raw. “Rise and shine, oh brother mine,” a voice booms over a bullhorn, “this is your complimentary four am wake-up call!”

#04 - Bugs

“But it wasn’t me, I swear!” Michelangelo shrieks as he dashed through the lair, Raphael in hot pursuit. “Oh yeah? Who the hell else would dump a load of rubber bugs in my bed?” Raphael bellows as he tears after his nimble brother, fists at the ready. On the couch, Donatello turns a page of his book, and smiles.

#05 - Coffee

“Ew, this one’s got mould growing on top,” Michelangelo exclaims, after finding yet another one of Donatello’s half-finished mugs of coffee behind a stack of books jammed onto a shelf.

#06 - Dark

“Sitting in the dark staring at a computer screen can’t be good for your sight, Don,” Leonardo says with soft concern from the doorway and Donatello looks up, rubbing bloodshot eyes wearily. “Gosh, I lost track of time,” he replies, “I just got so wrapped up in the chemical analysis of these crystals - ” “Come on,” Leonardo’s voice is gentle as he takes his brother by the elbow and urges him from his chair, “I’ll fix you something to eat.”

#07 - Despair

It’s not so unusual to find Michelangelo in the den where the blue glow of the television is the only light there is at this late hour and yet something makes Donatello pause as he passes by. Michelangelo’s candy sack is on his lap and again and again his hand delves within to fetch another sweet as he stares at the screen upon which scenes of trick-r-treaters play on the news, his blue eyes glittering and stricken. “Another whole year to wait,” he says, and his voice sounds so unusually soft, so tinged with sorrow, that Donatello goes over to sit down beside him.

#08 - Doors

“Dude, you nearly in?” Michelangelo hissed in Donatello’s ear. Donatello sighed and swivelled the pick, his thumb firmly positioned on the torque as he listened intently for the tell-tale click and snap of the pins. “Mikey, just keep a lookout like I told you - don’t worry, Raphael’s firecracker stash is almost ours!”

#09 - Drink

The door to Michelangelo’s bedroom creaks and he sits up, blinking at the shadowy figure who slips in. “Here,” Raphael tosses a can of beer onto the bed, his voice gruff, “saved ya one.” Michelangelo gasps and snatches up the illicit drink with joy, at once forgiving his surly big brother for saying he wasn’t man enough yet to hang with him and Casey: “Why, Raphie, you do care!”
