During training, we played a game which at one point involved decrypting a A1Z26 cipher written on a whiteboard.
“You’re cheating!” complained the coordinator when I read it aloud without even bothering to decipher it.
No, my friend. I’ve just spent two summers in a row teaching middle schoolers to write and crack very simple ciphers. 1-20 20-8-9-19 16-15-9-14-20 9-20'19 10-21-19-20 12-9-11-5 18-5-1-4-9-14-7 1 23-5-9-18-4 6-15-14-20.

4. A film you could watch on repeat for the rest of your life?
9. The most aesthetically pleasing movie you’ve ever watched?
Ooo. That’s a hard one! I mean, Avatar sure was pretty, wasn’t it? So was Jupiter Ascending. But honestly, lets talk about movies that I love. The design and art in the movie Mystery Men is part of my love for it. The Shoveler’s house, Casanova Frankenstein’s Lair, the bar, the diner, the Junkyard, all of it. Amazing set design. And the Blue Raj and his mother’s house are also very nice to look at. Not to mention the costuming.
12. A movie that holds a special place in your heart?
I’m going to assume this doesn’t mean ‘favorite’ but I think the movie that really speaks to me on multiple levels is one called Shower that is one of my all time favorites. It’s a wonderfully sad movie about a bathhouse in small town China that is run by an old man and his son. I’m not going to give a single thing away about this movie, but I will say that it touches on preserving the past when the rest of the world doesn’t want to, and that’s such a lovely theme for me.
21. A film with an amazing soundtrack?
I really don’t like the movie, but Lost Highway has one of the best soundtracks of any American movie. For foreign movies, I’m gonna go with the Akira soundtrack as my favorite. It’s one of the best albums I’ve ever heard and it kills me that Spotify doesn’t have it. Again, I don’t care about the movie, it’s the music that I love.
Dipper sat in the cabin of the Mystery Hull with Mabel, who was busy organizing her collection of colored shells. Stan had told him to wait in there and to keep his sister company. Of course he wanted to spend time with Mabel, but he had no interest in making pictures out of shells.
“Why does Stan treat me like a kid?” Dipper asked his sister, who was now stacking the shells into a model of a building in town.
