Rupert Grint ABC = It’s Only A Play. [x]

“I’ve loved the whole process. From previews to rehearsals, I’m in the best company. I’ve done one West End show before this but the excitement here…it’s incredible. It’s been a real education working this, I don’t feel worthy. The role is over the top, bold and ridiculous.“

“It’s pretty amazing working with all these geniuses. After Mojo ended, I didn’t want to do another play (It’s Only A Play) for a long time. It was fun but so exhausting. Then this came up and it was such an incredible cast, I had to do it.”

  • what she says: I'm fine
  • what she means: Gavin Creel lost the 2009 Tony for best performance by an actor in a musical to three prepubescent boys that played Billy Elliot. Like sure they were good, but Gavin Creel is a national treasure forward slash 3rd degree hottie who deserved it. I'm frustrated by the politics that govern the Tony awards like giving one of the highest honors in American performing arts to a slew of infants is such a publicity stunt and it drove Gavin away. He had to go to London to get any kind of recognition bc the brits could see he earned an Olivier even though its like a widely known fact that the west end doesn't receive american works as well as we take their ALW bull crap. He JUST got back to NYC and I'm sure he's gonna be in some award winning piece of theatre real soon and I'm nervous the Tony overlords are gonna be dick wads again.

Birdman: Or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014) - Alejandro González Iñárritu.

You had a career before the third comic book movie, before people began to forget who was inside the bird costume. You’re doing a play based on a book that was written 60 years ago, for a thousand rich old white people whose only real concern is gonna be where they go to have their cake and coffee when it’s over. And let’s face it, Dad, it’s not for the sake of art. It’s because you want to feel relevant again. Well, there’s a whole world out there where people fight to be relevant every day. And you act like it doesn’t even exist! Things are happening in a place that you willfully ignore, a place that has already forgotten you. I mean, who the fuck are you? You hate bloggers. You make fun of Twitter. You don’t even have a Facebook page. You’re the one who doesn’t exist. You’re doing this because you’re scared to death, like the rest of us, that you don’t matter. And you know what? You’re right. You don’t. It’s not important. You’re not important. Get used to it.

Happy to see you.

Here are some new character designs for my illustration portfolio! They are from the Broadway musical Annie, inspired by the many different screen depictions of the characters. Needless to say I listened to the soundtrack a LOT while drawing these. My favourite movie version is the 1999 one with Audra McDonald as Grace Farrell, so I had to make my Grace look a little like her. I was going to make my Miss Hannigan look more like Carol Burnett (hands-down my favourite Miss Hannigan) but I think the designs were looking really homogenous in terms of body shape and height so I changed it up a bit.

Hope you like it!
