#WeRunAsOne wristbands were worn by all runners who participated in the #GreenBay #HalfAndFullMarathon. “Prior to the start of the race everyone was invited to raise their arms in unity and observe 26 seconds of silence in memory of the lives lost & the lives that were forever changed at the #2013BostonMarathon.”
The terrorist attack today in Boston is heart wrenching and is a nightmare come true. Thoughts and prayers to all of those affected by this tragedy.
Ever since I was little I have wanted to run in the Boston Marathon. I’ve always wanted to go down and watch with my dad and last summer I asked if I could go down and my dad told me maybe.
I worked today and didn’t go down to Boston. One of the scariest things I’ve encountered is the look on a stranger’s face when they see you and think you were running in that race today.
That stranger was a woman who works with my dad and she thought that my dad and I were in Boston for the Boston Marathon and the woman thought I was running in the race.
She was in relief for my safety and I had only met this woman a few times. Over 100+ have been confirmed injured and 3 are dead at the sporting event I’ve loved for the majority of my life. I’m still in shock over this and once again my thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected.
