“I think that the present conception of "androgyny” is taken to mean a skinny, white, female-bodied person in boyish clothes and that needs to change. With the pre-existing systematic oppression against LGBTQ folks and people of color, it’s hard not to feel sort of overwhelmed sometimes with things that can, have been, and presumably could be held against you. It’s important to know that there are other people like you that respect your beauty/handsomeness, are just as driven as you, and also have a similar experience in gender.
