2011 revisited

A documentary video where Yuzuru Hanyu visited the place where there was the great Northeast Japan earthquake and tsunami disaster on March 11th 2011. He then revisited the emergency evacuation center using an elementary school’s gymnastic stadium. Once he stepped on to the ground towards that place, the memory came back to his eyes, and tears couldn’t be hold back anymore. He was reminiscing that scenes during his life in that evacuation place, the improper emergency toilet, the narrow space for his family consists of 4 people to sleep, the small rice ball+seaweed to eat for 2 people. He looks trying his best to hold his tears from flowing down. He said because we are the people who are alive, he feels strongly that we have to live with the thought to be proud of our live, for the people who have died and the people who are still living with difficult memories or thought.

P.S :
1). Arashi’s Sho Sakurai is one of the host and he is the narrator on this documentary video. To have 2 of my favorite japanese people to be in the same video, it’s a gift for me.
2). HOW CAN I NOT CRY OVER THIS??!!! Oh dear God… my tears were pouring down while watching this ( ;;____;; )

Albums of the Year: 2009-2014

by Zack Zarrillo

Music is usually pretty awful, but not always. I’ve been keeping a (not quite complete) running list of all releases that have had relevance to me since 2009 on a separate Tumblr account aptly titled Records ’XX of Zack. Using that and our PropertyOfZack Album of the Year posts, I’ve compiled a list with my favorite album at the end of each of the past five years, and also what my favorite album of that year is in the present day. I’d be curious to hear about your favorite releases for each of our past five, going on six, years as well.
