A million movies to get you in the school spirit

Obviously the school life portrayed in movies is nothing like the reality. Try more disorganisation, mounting stress and constantly messy hair. Nevertheless, we can attempt to forget the reality! I’ve put together this list of high school and college related movies to get you maybe just a little more motivated for school. I’ve put an asterisk (*) next to some of my favourites. Zoë’s film recs

I decided that I would make a film recs list because I watch a lot of movies and thought that it would be nice to share them. Some are a bit obscure, whereas others are well-known. There are 70+ films, categorized by genre and alphabetically. Enjoy!

Thierry Henry, Forward, Henry has received many plaudits and awards in his football career. He was runner-up for the 2003 and 2004 FIFA World Player of the Year awards; in those two seasons, he also won back-to-back PFA Players’ Player of the Year titles. Henry is the only player ever to have won the FWA Footballer of the Year three times (2003, 2004, 2006), and the French Player of the Year on a record four occasions. Henry was voted into the Premier League Overseas Team of the Decade in the 10 Seasons Awards poll in 2003, and in 2004 he was named by football legend Pelé on the FIFA 100 list of the world’s greatest living players.

In terms of goal-scoring awards, Henry was the European Golden Boot winner in 2004 and 2005 (sharing it with Villarreal’s Diego Forlán in 2005). Henry was also the top goalscorer in the Premier League for a record four seasons (2002, 2004, 2005, 2006). In 2006, he became the first player to score more than 20 goals in the league for five consecutive seasons (2002 to 2006). With 175, Henry is currently fifth in the list of all-time Premier League goalscorers, behind Alan Shearer, Andy Cole, Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard. All of his Premier League goals were for Arsenal, giving him the record for most goals in the competition for one club, until it was broken by Rooney in 2016. France’s all-time record goalscorer was, in his prime in the mid 2000s, regarded by many coaches, footballers and journalists as one of the best players in the world. In November 2007, he was ranked 33rd on the Association of Football Statisticians’ compendium for “Greatest Ever Footballers."

Arsenal fans honoured their former player in 2008, declaring Henry the greatest Arsenal player. In two other 2008 surveys, Henry emerged as the favourite Premier League player of all time among 32,000 people surveyed in the Barclays 2008 Global Fan Report. In 2009, Henry was voted the best Premier League player of the 2000s. Arsenal fan and The Who lead singer Roger Daltrey mentions Henry in the tribute song "Highbury Highs”, which he performed at Arsenal’s last ever game at Highbury on 7 May 2006. On 10 December 2011, Arsenal unveiled a bronze statue of Henry at the Emirates Stadium as part of its 125th anniversary celebrations.

I’m trying to sort out Emily’s past since this new info has come up in the Beyond Borders episode and:

She graduated high school in 89’ and presumably started college right away because she’s an overachiever who was determined to make something of herself. She went to Georgetown for undergrad (til 93’) then Yale for grad school (til 95’). This part is hazy and we know she lied to Hotch about being in the bureau for the full 10 years (96ish-06) when she started, but part of that narrative could be true and she might have started at the FBI right out of college. From there, at some point, she got an internship at the UN that concluded before or in 2001, considering she said they halted the investigation of her and Clara’s friend’s murder due to 9/11. I assume she went from there to Interpol (knowing her language/international skills she got hired right away) and was only there a short while before being transferred via backstop to the CIA, specifically to the JTF-12 task force, which was said to be assembled after 9/11. Clyde, her Interpol boss, recommended her so he must have seen a lot in her as a newbie even. It was never specified exactly how long she was a spy, but their last case was the Doyle one which concluded in 2004 (7 years before 2011) so it seems it was only a few years. After that wrapped, we also don’t know exactly what she did for roughly a year and a half, but I assume it involved getting re-acquainted to a normal life (while making sure Declan was okay and trying to get into the BAU to gain stability for the both of them, as stated). And then she barged into Hotch’s office with her cardboard box…

For Black History Month:

Phantom of the Opera in South Africa (2004 and 2011-12) made history, casting the first black Phantom outside the US, and the first black* Christine worldwide. In addition they featured two black Piangis, and multiple cast members, amongst them Don Attilio, Passarino and the Wardrobe Mistress.

Many of these also continued into the World Tour.

(*South Africans use the term coloured in reference to people of mixed heritage. This is a neutral term and often preferred, unlike the US and UK where the term is considered slur and avoided. From an American and European point of view, Lana English would be called black, but if regarding her Cape Town heritage she is coloured. I’m mentioning it here to avoid confusion)

anonymous asked:

oh my god! did you hear aabout Jay!? I'm so excited for him!!!

Short Answer: I’m not excited, and the whole thing makes me anxious and worried.

Ok so here’s my two cents about it. And this is going to be a long post. Noted Jay himself, hasn’t confirmed and broken the news to us but he has heavily hinted to some big news as well as it has been confirmed by Ben Baller. If anyone is curious to what this is about it’s the rumor (only calling it that until Jay confirms) that he has joined ROC Nation (Jay Z’s company)

And here’s why I’m not as excited as everyone else.

Now I’m a huge Jay Park fan, since he debuted in 2008. I watched him go from kpop idol to working in a tire shop and it is so incredibly surreal that he has risen from that and created his own company. This empire if you will, having employees, and a cafe, making his own music, choreography, merch all in house. Hiring his crew (such as ChaCha, and Hep) ChaCha has successfully become one of the most coveted producers in Korea despite not being Korean. Hep designs and creates all of AOMG’s merch, and logo’s, and Jay’s younger brother Jehan works in Dudart Cafe (Aomg’s cafe) Jay has always been about looking out for his own. His crew and family has always been his number one priority, and he doesn’t even make money from the artist signed to his company. All their profits go straight to them.

And these are all the reasons why I’m not excited…If Jay signs to Roc Nation what happens to AOMG? Sure Simon D is technically still the other CEO, and AOMG is an independent subsidiary under CJ E&N Music so they’ll be alright. But an AOMG without Jay…?

ChaCha uprooted and moved all the way to Korea just to be there for Jay and that’s such a real ride or die. They both made a life in Korea but I don’t know if Chahcha would stay without Jay.

It could be something as simple (and preferable for me) if ROC Nation is producing Jay’s new album, or maybe ROC Nation is going to be Jay’s American company (If he decided to promote in America, it’s much easier to be handled and promoted by a successful domestic company) But if Jay really is just signed onto ROC Nation as an artist, he more than likely will no longer be an AOMG artist.

Crews and Companies aren’t forever…They end up breakup eventually… And I don’t want AOMG to have to go through that. Epik High used to be independent before YG, now they have High Ground (still under YG) but before that they used to have Map The Soul Inc, they signed MYK, Kero One, Planet Shiver, and Dok2. In 2012 they joined YG. Map The Soul wasn’t a thing anymore… the artist moved on to different companies. Dok2 made illionaire and the rest is history. Soul Company is also a crew/company that broke up (2004-2011) It had Minos, The Quiett, Rhymer, Mad Clown, Crucial Star, even DJ Wegun… Companies are never too big to break up. And it’d break my heart if AOMG did…

Consider me more apprehensive than anything. I know this is Jay’s dream, to be able to succeed in American music industry. He could even be home and do so. But it could possibly be an end of an era.

Edit: Jay could also join ROC Nation and nothing can change. It could just be another management for Jay, but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with being alittle anxious
