Legitimate Business - Part 2

Juice started to keep a tally. After his first encounter with (Y/N), Juice had jammed the bedroom window, hoping she’d not be able to fix it herself and had to call. She hadn’t been able to, and the next day he came out after working with Teller-Morrow to fix it.

Along with the jammed the window, he’d loosened the shower head, even “accidentally” busted through some wall plaster that he’d noticed was weak during a particularly rough but fun bout of love-making.
There was also actual repair work that (Y/N) had called him in for. The apartment was older and hadn’t been well kept. The doors were coming away from their hinges, needing new ones. Paint was chipped, skirting boards needing to be nailed back down, cupboard doors coming off.
Juice’s boss and the club didn’t seem to care, as long as he was getting paid for the work, Juice could go back as many times as he was called.
It had gotten to a point where (Y/N) was calling Juice directly to come and fix the things that were broken, and he would call in after work with the club or the garage.

”You know you’re a whore, right?” Jax asked one night, as the boys sat around the bar.
”What?” Juice exclaimed, swigging from his beer.
”She’s paying you for sex. You’re a straight up hoe.” Jax smirked, everyone laughing.
”She’s paying the company for the work that I do. The sex is free. It’s a bonus.” Juice argued, smiling all the while.
”Better than what I’m getting. I’m at the retirement home this week, and I tell you, little old ladies are just as frisky as any 20 year old.” Kozik sighed.
”I’m running outta shit to break so I can come back and fix it.” Juice said, shaking his head.
”Just ask her out, man! She’s obviously in to you.” Jax said.
”What if she’s just in to the sex, I was just there at the right time and place?”
”Does she kick you out of the house right after?” Opie asked, going behind the bar for more drinks.
”Nah, we usually hang out, talk. Sometimes if it’s after work, we order food and watch TV.”
”So, what you’re saying is, you’re dating.”
”Well… Not officially. I mean we haven’t been out, and we haven’t even talked about it.” Juice said, not sure how to broach the subject with (Y/N). He didn’t want to freak her out if she was just wanting a friends with benefits thing.
”You’re overthinking it. Just ask her.” Kozik advised.
Juice nodded, and distracted himself with Kozik’s story about one particularly lewd grandma.

***

Juice was back at (Y/N)’s on Saturday afternoon. The headboard, which Juice had regrettably made sure was secure, had come away from the wall in one of the corners. Juice ran through the list of repairs that he’d had to do by his own hand, and knew that he hadn’t tampered with the board, nor did it get broken in any of the romps they’d had.
Looking at the screw, there was damage around the head, like something that wasn’t meant to be used as a screwdriver had been taken to it.
Juice happened to look down, and saw on the bedside table a butterknife, the tip looking a little worse for wear. He wondered if this was the work of (Y/N).
As he drilled, he heard music blasting from down in the kitchen. It wasn’t uncommon, (Y/N) tended to like music on. When he was done, he heard an odd banging noise, not part of the song that was playing.
Walking in to the kitchen, he saw (Y/N) yanking at a cupboard door, pulling down on it, weakening the hinge.
Juice leant on the counter, amused look on his face. She hadn’t noticed him come in.
“Come on, break, damn it!” (Y/N) muttered, giving one final yank. It wouldn’t budge.
“I fixed that one last time I was here.”
“Shit, no wonder I couldn’t get it. I thought it was the one in the other corner…” (Y/N) turned and gasped, seeing Juice watching her. She had completely outted herself to him without realising.
“You’ve been breaking stuff? To get me to come back?”
(Y/N) could barely look him in the eye. She fumbled through her words, before confessing.
“Yeah, well, I… like you. That’s why I asked you to stay for dinner the other night. I didn’t wanna freak you out in case this was just a sex thing for you, so, I started breaking stuff, figuring I’d get the guts to ask you at some point while you were here.”
Juice chuckled, moving around the bench to stand in front of her. He put his hands on her waist, picking her up and sitting her on the counter. Spreading her legs, he stood between them, holding her face in his hands.
“Since we’re confessing, I loosened your shower head and jammed your window.” He brought his lips down to hers, kissing her quickly before she moved her head back.
“Wait, you’ve been breaking stuff to come back?”
Juice nodded, kissing her again, longer this time.
“I unscrewed the headboard.”
“I found the knife.” Juice grinned, kissing her again. “I broke the wall on purpose, the other night.”
“The sliding door to the balcony may have had some help coming off it’s tracks.”
Their kisses became more intense before (Y/N) put a hand to his chest, pushing Juice back a little.
“Just so we’re clear, what are we doing? This is great, don’t get me wrong, but we’re gonna run out of things to break, short of bringing in a full construction crew.”
Juice smiled, brushing some hair back from her face.
“I wanna take you out. Hang out, here, my place, wherever. I want you to meet my friends, come to our parties. Hold your hand, kiss you. I’d like to keep having sex too, but ya know, the other stuff as well.”
“So, a relationship.”
“Yeah, but it’s not as romantic when you say it like that. Is that what you want?”
(Y/N) placed a hand on the back of his neck, pulling him back in again.
“Yes.”
Juice kissed her deeply, wrapping his arms around her. He picked her up again, walking over to her dining room table and pulling out a chair.
“No, wait! I undid some of the screws on that one. Was gonna get you to fix it for me. Use the other one.”
“Are you sure? You forgot which cupboard door you’d broken.” Juice mocked, grin on his face.
(Y/N) playfully smacked him on the shoulder.
“You make a good point, though. Maybe just use the couch.”
They moved to the living room, Juice easing down on to the couch. They kissed and groped for a while, taking their time removing their clothes.
“There’s a party tonight. Come with me?”
(Y/N) stopped. “Oh, um, sure. Is there a dress code?”
Juice sensed she was a bit worried, maybe even upset that their first date wouldn’t be just the two of them.
“Just something cute. We’ll go to dinner before. Or we can just blow the party off completely and just do dinner. Whatever you want.”
(Y/N) smiled. “No, I wanna go to the party. Should we go get dinner now?”
Juice looked at the clock on the wall.
“S’only five, we got time.”

Chance meeting Part 1

2011

“This seat taken?” you ask spotting the only empty chair on this beautiful fall day, next to a man you’ve seen many times at this very spot the last few months.

He looked familiar, more so than just seeing him here. But you can’t place where you’ve seen him before. Now up close, sandy blond hair highlighted by the sunny rays beating down, warming those who chose to sit outside. His head bent till you’d spoken, breathe catching as his sky blue eyes land on you, half smile gracing the corners of his lips. You can tell somethings wrong, studying people being a hobby of sorts and part of your chosen career, though you bite your tongue not asking questions.

“Uh, yes, yes it is,” siting up, pulling his feet back under him from being stretched out under the small table

Trying not to take up much room as you’ve spied a sketch pad while placing your coffee cup down. Taking your computer bag from the left shoulder, finally sitting down, you take a deep breath of the fresh air. A smile sliding into place as you close your eyes and relax.

“That bad a day doll?” deep voice laced with concern.

Doll? Did anyone use that anymore? Evidently they did since the hottie sitting next to you just said it. But instead of answering his question you just stared for a moment finally realizing who he is and ignoring his question.

“Oh my, your,” pausing, swallowing hard. You’d never met anyone famous before much less a war hero you’ve heard about all your life.

Internally groaning, one of the many down falls to having a face everyone knows is being bombarded by people who want to talk about the past, to shake his hand and sometimes not let go. Not that he doesn’t want to talk about it, about life in the 40’s, his time during World War 2 and Captain America.

“Steve Rogers, right,” voice light, sweet to his ears because most addressed him as Captain America or Cap. But you, your different he can see the curiosity written in your eyes he’s just not sure for which it’s for. The man or the myth?

“That’d be me in the flesh,” he tries not to cringe at how stupid that sounded, not being use to today’s slang. Lowering his gaze back to the pad in front of him, Steve starts to add more lines, a little shading to the drawing of the New York skyline.

Not taking your eyes off him, while unpacking your laptop and setting up your work area. “Never thought I’d ever meet you. My Granddad spoke very highly and so many stories. ”

Head snapping up as the pencil paused, eyes searching. “Stories? Who’s your Granddad?”

“Y/GF/N, of the 107th,” the grin is infectious as it lightens your eyes, affection and love in your tone. “He always says if,” you clear your throat dropping the octave as much as you can. “If not for Steve Rogers you wouldn’t be here lady bug, he’s the true hero saving all our butts.”

At first Steve just sat there, a touch shocked, a touch moved. Not that he hadn’t been called a hero before, many times in fact that at some points it really didn’t mean much because most didn’t mean it. But to hear you say it even in that silly voice, it stirred something inside him. “Is he still alive?”

“Oh yes, very much so. Lives in DC still, house he was born and raised in since the 20’s,” there’s pride in your tone, as your own eyes drop back to your computer. Booting up the system you take a deep drink from you’re now warm coffee. “I’ll let you get back to your sketch, I’ve taken up enough of your time. Just pretend I’m not here.”

“No, you’re not bothering me doll,” flipping the pad closed, not wanting to get anything on it. The birds do dive bomb from time to time as he’s learned. “What uh,” he rubs the back of his neck, not wanting to sound self-absorbed, but curiosity got the better of him. “What stories did your Granddad tell you about me?”

You can see the nerves, something telling you that he’s uncomfortable about asking, his posture a dead giveaway, but interest is there to. “The good ones mostly.”

Smiling, seeing that you’re teasing him, “So he didn’t tell you about the time I toilet papered the General’s tent just to see how angry he’d get?”

“Ah no, but he did tell me how you mud washed some poor privets jeep,” you’re trying to hold back the laughter through seeing his shocked face does in you.

Folding over your computer laughing into the crook of your arm, you hear the sweetest sound ever. Guff laughter from the man sitting beside you that tickles your ears and makes you smile. You’ve managed to do what so few have, making Steve Rogers feel normal for once since the serum’s injection into his body. So many have seen him as nothing more than a weapon, or an icon for others to follow. Forgetting that he’s a man as well.

“Thank you,” he’s wiping tears away still chuckling.

“For?” your puzzled, regaining your own wits about you looking over at him.

“Making me feel less of a science experiment gone wrong and more human,” breathe catching in your throat when you catch the spike of uncertainty in those beautiful sky blue eyes of his. He hadn’t meant to say that out loud, but there’s something about you that he feels like he can honestly talk to you.

“Mr. Rogers honestly you aren’t a failed experiment, you’re a human being who deserves to be treated as such,” placing a hand on his arm giving it a light squeeze. “Whoever told you that is an idiot.”

“Steve please,” heat from your touch warms him in ways he’s not felt since before going into the ice and only one other time, with Peggy.

Smiling, removing the hand from his arm, you’re unsure on what to do next. What does one talk about with Steve Rogers? It’s funny actually, you normally would sit here typing away at your next piece ignoring everyone and everything around you, yet right now you don’t want to. Instead you wanted to know more about the man behind the myth.

That thought is taken, along with what to talk about from you, as his phone rings. A frown marring that handsome visage as he listens to the voice on the other end. “Understood, I’ll be there in ten,” the cadence has changed, dropped an octave. “I’m really sorry, I have to go.”

“Of course it was nice meeting you Steve,” you rose with him offering your hand which he takes and shakes. On impulse you stand on tip toes, leaning in to press a soft kiss to his cheek. “For all you’ve done and will do but most of all for saving a man’s life you didn’t even know.”

Astounded, Steve tries to cover the light pink which dusts his cheeks though secretly pleased. “My pleasure miss,” tipping his head to one side he’s at a loss for what to do and no time to think of anything. The advice from Bucky doing him little good right now, “I’ll see you around?”

“Count on it Cap,” shooting him a cheesy smile while retaking your seat.

Groaning though the smile on his lips tells of a different story, Steve waves before taking off down the street and into danger. Wondering if he’ll ever see you again. You as well think the same thing, but push those thoughts aside. Today had been a fluke you wouldn’t be so lucky again.

Thoughts on finale and the season

So, I’m finally able to sit and write my post. I’ve been busy all week and haven’t had time.  I watched the finale again last night because when I sat down on my couch at 10 PM after cleaning my house all day, and turned on the tv it had just started! I’ll post some thoughts on the finale first, then go into why I believe this isn’t over yet and why I think Beth can still be alive. A lot of what I’ll say is stuff I’ve said before but I want to go over it all again. Some of it doesn’t pertain to Beth necessarily, but is why I believe this story isn’t over yet. I know there are a lot of people who think this season was horrible and bad writing- but I don’t agree with that.

I’ll try not to be too all over the place with this post, but it’s going to be long, and might not be too organized. Sorry!  And I’m going to do a read more.
