1980's series

On March 24th, 2017 there will be 12 episodes of the original 1980’s version of the series released on Netflix in all their unabashed, shitty 80’s dubbed cheesy glory. Each episode will feature a “Fantasia”-style intro by members of VLD’s cast and crew about the memories and impact of the 80’s version.

I’m In Too Deep

So you know how Mona Lisa is named after the painting right?

Well, here’s where it goes full inception on us:

Leonardo Di Vinci painted the Mona Lisa.

Leonardo is the name of the oldest brother of the turtles.

Raphael names Mona Lisa calling her the most beautiful girl in the world.

Raphael Urbino was a painter who created paintings such as the Three Graces, The Marriage of the Virgin, and The Sistine Madonna.

Both Leonardo & Raphael worked on their own Mona Lisa projects with Raphael actually sketching the Mona Lisa while Leonardo was working on the Mona Lisa painting. So technically speaking there are two versions of the Mona Lisa that you can say are in existence.

The sketch done by Raphael during the time Leonardo was working on the actual painting:

and Leonardo’s later completed portrait of the well renowned Mona Lisa:

In the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1980′s series, Mona Lisa was originally a human teenager who got mutated into a lizard. Which presented two versions of the same character.

the human version:

and her mutated version:

Leonardo also had a love interest that he was supposed to have in the form of Lotus Blossom in the 80′s version which was a stand in for Karai when she wasn’t yet part of the TMNT animated universe. But his love interest also had TWO different versions of the same character but in different styles just like with the case of the two different versions of Mona Lisa in the 80′s series.

In the 2012 series Mona Lisa is a lizard alien from space that wasn’t a human but her original debut in the 80′s series depicted her as two different species for the same character. Just like how there are two different versions of the actual Mona Lisa in real life and just like how there are two different versions of Mona Lisa in the animated TMNT series.

That’s right. I made a entire shit post about Mona Lisa & Art. Sue me. Illuminati confirmed.

The truth is out there.
