AMC AMX, 1968. The "American Motors eXperimental" coupé was based on the 1966 concept car of the same name. It was unique among American muscle cars of the era in having only 2 seats. Sales of the AMX were not as great as American Motors had hoped and production ended in 1970
AMC Javelin AMX Pierre Cardin Edition, 1972. In what may be the first example of an automaker collaborating with a fashion label, the Pierre Cardin Javelin featured trim and colour schemes style by the couturier.
