Happy 4th of July! Here’s a forgotten patriotic heroine: Miss Victory!
Miss Victory was government secretary Joan Wayne, who helped the U.S. war effort by beating up spies, gangsters, and Nazis! Miss Victory is either just a really great fighter, or super-strong and apparently invulnerable, but no explanation or origin is given for her skills or powers.
Miss Victory was first published a few months before Wonder Woman debuted. She appeared in only a handful of stories published first by Helnit and Holyoke in 1941-1946.
