17 40mm

Hi! I really like the look of your photography! I'm sorry if you've answered this before but I was wondering if you could talk about what kind of equipment you use or what kind of advice you can give to someone starting out? Thanks :)

Thank you! Currently using a Canon 6D and I have love / hate relationships with my 17-40mm & 50mm 1.8 lenses. Only because I just want to save up for a 24-70 2.8 so I can cuddle with it every night.

I’ve posted about this before, but it really comes down to taking photos every day- or just as often as you can. Practicing taking photos and editing makes you figure out how to get better and what your style is. If you got out and take photos, you get home and think- wow, I should have taken a photo like this or you end up trying a technique your favorite photographer uses and you learn how to do that.

Go take photos! You mind ends up seeing compositions you want to create even when you don’t have your camera on you.

And also, youtube videos help a lot too. I google “how to edit landscape photos in lightroom” like a year and a half ago. It didn’t create the edits I currently go with today, but it helped me understand photo editing in general.

Good luck and ask away if you need help

While out checking for an aurora, what does one do during the waiting? Well, taking a few shots of the Skye Bridge can pass the time nicely :o)

This is one of those locations in Hong Kong that everyone visits. The second image is of the IFC building which I visited a lot due to this great burger place called “Big Fernand”. Everyone seems to shoot from the IFC so I thought I would try the opposite direction which the top image is showing. The mist was still very strong on the night I went which you can see at the top of the IFC.
