15-Doctor

2

My skin has been super clear lately. It’s hard to believe that at one point when I was 14 or 15, a doctor told me I had the worst acne he’d even seen. He put me on accutane (☠️) and it destroyed my skin and lips (and stomach.. which put me like $50K+ in debt before I was 21, but that’s another story). I started hiding the pills from my mom so my skin would at least go back to how it was before. Over the years it’s gotten slowly better, but the final kick lately from the t blocking has really allowed my skin some welcome clarity like I’ve never remembered having. I had acne since I was 9 and I’m still not sure how I escaped terrible scarring, as bad as it was. I’m so grateful. I would have paid any amount to clear it up. It’s so crazy sometimes to me still.

… I went on a reading spree throughout February and you can definitely tell by the list below…

Peter Capaldi tribute - That’s Life

Tribute to the life and career of Peter Capaldi.

Not my usual tribute.  I blame the BBC.  At the end of the 9th series they made the 12th my favorite Doctor, The Husbands of River Song sealed the deal, and then they went and left me with no new Doctor Who for a whole year.  I spent 2016 mining Peter Capaldi’s past filmography.  He has had a remarkable career and is a remarkable actor.  This is one of the few times I’ve become a fan of an actor rather than a character or show and I am looking forward to seeing what he does next.

Song: That’s Life
Performer: Frank Sinatra
Writers: Dean Kay, Kelly Gordon

This was just done for fun, no copyright infringement is intended.
There are so many different movies and shows I’ve taken clips from I have no idea who has the rights to them.  I hope nobody minds that I’ve used them for this little tribute (considering how few views I get, it really shouldn’t matter).  Thanks much.

**********

Wonderful tribute video for Peter! Love how each portion of the video is given a description of the show or film. That really helps!

Honestly I’m confused. I’ve worked with 15 different doctors, and for the most part, it doesn’t sound like they are that happy. They sound envious of physician assistant’s, always noting on how they have less responsibility, more flexibility, and still make well over six figures. They talk about how their friends have days off on the weekends, whereas they need to be mixing in over night shifts and it’s getting harder as they’re getting older. They, for the most part, come from money and had their parents pay off their loans. All this money, all this studying, saving people, helping people, and yet it’s like, where’s the time for them to live? God, I know I’m smart enough. I know I’m passionate enough. I know I want it bad enough. I love working in the hospital and seeing patients.

But I also love watching the sun set, instead of being in fluorescent lights. I want to be sure that I’m not trading truly living, enjoying love, children, family, friendship… for knowledge. Trading it for facts. Trading it for money. Trading it for prestige, a nice car, a nice house. I’ll obviously be saving lives, but what about my own life?
I’m confused.

I’m sad seeing so many doctors divorced and seemingly unhappy. Saying if they could do it all over again, maybe they’d have been a PA. And the PA’s say, “I would have been a nurse practitioner.”

At what point are people truly happy? Being a cog in a machine doesn’t seem to be a likely answer. I just want to be happy. I want to watch the sun set and go surfing with my kids and potty train a dog.

Law school. Medical school. Graduate school. Fuck.

Love doesn’t die

“Hey, angel” Tom met me when I came home. “How was your family day?”

“Not good” I made a deep breath and took off my shoes. Today I feel myself sick. I’m too tired. Whole day with my crazy relatives is too much.

“What happened?” Tom looked at me with anxiety.

“There were a lot of kids, who don’t know what is respect for adults. Also, my aunt started hysterics because I refused to introduce them to you. They are annoying” I rubbed my eyes and felt how Tom kiss my cheekbone.

“I know how to make you relax and forget about your crazy relatives” he looked at me with cunning. “What about having shower together?”

I smiled. He always know how to cheer me up.

“You know, I always don’t mind”

“Well… let’s go now!” Holland took me in his arms and carried to the bathroom.

“Hey, what are you doing? I even didn’t take off my jaket!” Tom put me on white and cold floor.

“I can’t wait anymore. Y/n, day without you was so boring”

I didn’t say anything and just started taking off my clothes. When Tom saw it he started doing the same. He got rid of his grey pants and white t-shirt. I almost took off my dress, but I couldn’t unbutton zipper, which was on my back.

“Let me do it” Tom gently touched my back  and unbuttoned zipper. After this he kissed my skin and neck.

I closed my eyes. The tile no longer seemed so cold.

“Let’s go to the shower, honey” His lips met with mine and we went to the shower.

Tom turned the handle and hot water poured on us. My muscules relaxed and I felt Tom hug me from behind.

“You are the most beautiful girlfriend in the world” He whispered and kissed my neck.

“I love you” I said and kissed him back.

After wonderful sex and showering, Tom went to take towels.
I squeezed my hair and left the shower.

Suddenly, I started feeling dizzy and can’t think straight. What’s worng? I leaned my hand against the wall, barely standing on my feet. Everything is going round and round.

“Angel? Are you okay?” Tom came back and two grey towels were in his hands.

“Things… going round… and round… and round…” Derkness started appering before my face.

“Hey, hey, hey! Don’t fall!” Tom ran closer and took me on his hands. “Everything is gonna be alright! Just… just don’t close your eyes!” It seemed like he tried to calm me down, but, honesly, he tried to calm down himself.

“I’m okay, I’m okay…” I whispered and couldn’t keep my eyes open more.

“No, no, no! Y/n! Look at me!” Tom almost yelled, but I was already faint.
