12 TV Characters I Fell in Love with in 2012 | 10: Sebastian Monroe

Now, here’s one I didn’t see coming. When I first started watching Revolution and Monroe was introduced as Miles’ military buddy, I didn’t think much of it. And then both Miles and Monroe became much, much bigger players than two guys in a car, one of whom happened to be Ben Matheson’s brother. And Monroe? I didn’t want to like him. He’s a sick, twisted fucker, Bas is. Power-hungry, sadistic, and not all right upstairs, to be sure. But the more we see of his past, the more we learn of him, the more he’s growing on me, and, well. I think he may have become my favourite character, after Miles. Which is going to be horribly painful, I’m sure, given the things Kripke’s said about what’s going to happen in the second half of the season. Thanks for that, Kripke. Thanks for making me fall in love with the psychopath General Sebastian Monroe, in 2012.

12 TV Characters I Fell in Love with in 2012 | 11: Michonne

I was pretty psyched for this lady when she was shown at the tale end of season two, and now, a good chunk into season three, she’s lived up to my excitement. The thing I love about Michonne is that she takes control of this world in a way that none of the others have, from what we’ve been shown. Not only that, but she doesn’t take anyone’s shit. She’s in it for her survival, yeah, but she doesn’t have much of a hidden agenda, at all, and she’s a team player when the bell rings. She’s a tough, kickass broad, and I can’t wait to see what else there is in store for her. More than I thought I would, I fell in love with Michonne, in 2012.

12 Characters I Fell in Love with in 2012 | 12: Daenerys Targaryen

I didn’t start watching Game of Thrones until after I visited Kitty in March, but man, am I glad I did. The show itself and its flawlessness aside, we’ve got this little lady here. Dany exceeded all of my expectations for her, going from a meek girl under the thumb of her insane, power-crazed brother, to a strong woman, leading the dregs of her late husband’s Khalasar. The mother of dragons, Khaleesi, Daenerys had me rooting for her from her first appearance, and come the end of March this year, I’ll be rooting for her again, because in 2012, I fell in love with Daenerys Targaryen.
