10am class

5 times yura wore otabeks clothes on Accident and one time it wasnt an accident

1. ACTUAL ACCIDENT

It’s, overall, a pretty shitty day for Yura so far.

It’s not even that he forgot to charge his phone the night before, and is now watching it shut down again after obnoxiously letting him know of its lack of battery and competence. It’s not, even, the fact that his phone being dead all night meant it conveniently didn’t wake him up in time for his 10am class. It’s not, even, the fact that said class is in 13 minutes and he’s 15 minutes from campus.

No, the real cherry on the toothpaste sundae is the fact that when he and Otabek stumbled to their room last night, drunk off their asses and all over each other, they didn’t bother to sort out the laundry.

So, here he is, phone charger precariously stretched across the table from the wall plug (in the most ridiculous and unaccessible place possible) to where he’s checking the time every 2 minutes while pulling on his last pair of clean jeans and simultaneously trying to arrange his hair into something less ‘bird nest’ and more ‘artfully messy’. It all goes great, except he can’t put his phone down on the floor and needs one hand to pull on his pants and There Are No More Hands Left For The Hair, but he makes do. See, Yura makes do like the model student he is, until he looks down and realizes he’s still in his pyjama shirt.

ok here’s my college advice bc a lot of u guys are going into college soon
  • 9 out of 10 times, you’re not going to need the book the first week. get a feel for the class before you waste money on a book. some classes do in fact need it, while others put it as a formality.
  • if you are a student, you can get a 6 month free trial of amazon prime, but please make sure you cancel it before the 6 months! cannot stress this enough! otherwise you will be paying for an account! if you can pay for an account though, you’ll find it very useful for buying books
  • an acceptable time to go to bed is around 11-12. Set an alarm for 9, even though you will likely wake up naturally. It’s important to keep your sleep schedule consistent.
  • don’t take any classes before 10am unless you absolutely have to.
  • if you have to choose between a class with a lot of busywork and an 8am, pick the 8am. i know what i just said, but it’ll be better i promise
  • ratemyprofessors is a godsend. some schools have their own rating systems based on avg gpa as well
  • don’t room with friends (you’ll realize how incompatable you are and begin to hate each other), don’t room with people you already know (you may get stabbed), don’t room with people who others say are a lot like you and you will get along well (they play kingdom hearts at maximum volume while you’re trying to sleep and make you hate the franchise forever). your best roommate will be someone who you can just coexist and occassionally watch movies with. or just not there at all.
  • if you’re not used to studying, ur gonna have to start getting used to it. This isn’t high school where you can BS your AP History exam by picking the most depressing answer and sliding by with an 85%.
  • if you do study, you’re on the right track! keep up the good work!
  • if you are in a non-major class with a curved grading system and the people who are in that major ask you for homework help, HELP THEM, you probably got a 6/10 on the homework but everyone else who asked you probably got worse and you have an A now.
  • you may walk by a monitor with a screencap from the video game facade on it. don’t question it.
  • the first week is the most important week socially. if you don’t make friends this week, you won’t have many at all. (note: this is only if you go to a nerdy school like georgia tech)
  • research and internship opportunities are super important! Don’t wait til the last minute to do them! i’d say, probably 2nd or 3rd year.
  • do not spend a whole day in the library saying it’s a hardcore work day because you will only get half your projects done, you won’t eat anything except famous amos, and you’ll later pay money to watch big hero 6 and walk out wondering if you just saw a movie
  • college is not as busy as high school. you’ll have a lot of free time. don’t spend it all on the computer

Folie a Deux teaser

I’m dragging my feet on this one, but here’s a sneak peek…thanks as always to @okaynextcrisis for the prompt and @cassiopeiasara for the help.

They slipped into something of a routine in the weeks leading up to Thanksgiving, and it happened so easily she didn’t even notice it until she realized that she’d been at his apartment for dinner twice that week and was making plans for him to join them the following night. Barring late rehearsals or Grace’s school schedule, they ate together almost every night. He came to her classes at least twice a week, and she called Billy to schedule him to teach the 10am class so that she could put on her pointe shoes and let Bill torture her in company class on Mondays and Fridays. (Tory’s good will toward Bill had burned off quickly, and she had informed Laura in no uncertain words that she was NOT there to pick up the slack so that Laura could playact at being a ballerina again.) (Tory was about two steps away from being booted out on her ass from the yoga studio; the only thing saving her job was that she was the only one who could manage to make the books balance at the end of the month.)

She was sitting in his kitchen, stunned into silence at the realization that she spent almost more time with Bill these days than she did with Grace, but he kept talking as he loaded the dishwasher, not noticing the wide-eyed shock on her face as she realized that Bill was fast becoming a permanent fixture in her life. Again.

“So, next week is Thanksgiving and we have a lighter load before we go into tech at the stage. I was going to head up to New York, but Carolanne is taking the boys to her parents’ house in Ohio. I was thinking maybe we’d take a drive, explore some of Pennsylvania or maybe go down to Baltimore for the day and see the aquarium.”

a few tips for first-year college students:

dorm

  • if you don’t have air conditioning, you want a fan. you can get a box fan at Target for $20 and stick it in your window. if you don’t want to go all-in on that yet, get a clip-on fan that you can stick on your desk or your bed and aim directly at your face.
  • in case nobody has told you yet, you need to wear flip flips in the shower
  • if you’re going to be storing stuff over the summer, keep all the boxes that things come in. a lot of times you can flatten them and shove them away pretty easily. now your string lights have their own box when you’re moving into a storage unit and your actual box space is freed up. last year I stored my sheets in the box my snow boots came in. boxes.
  • you can totally survive without a refrigerator and a microwave. I’ve done it. but they’re really fucking nice to have. (same goes for fans.) if you don’t have a microwave or fridge, find a friend whose fridge you can put leftovers in the one night you go out or get takeout and a building with a microwave students can use.
  • if you’re ordering your bedding online and having it shipped directly to college, go feel the stuff in the store first. related: buy cotton sheets. microfiber is gross. you’ll need a lighter summer pair if you get flannel.
  • travel bottles for shampoo and conditioner can be found at places like Target and Bed Bath and Beyond and then if you buy shampoo in bulk (I get liter containers), you don’t have to carry the whole thing with you. oh also don’t bet on having a place to hang a shower caddy–get one you can put on the ground without it grossing you out, and expect everything in the shower caddy to get wet (bar soaps are p much out, but if you do use one, get a draining soap dish and make sure to leave it out to dry every time you use it so it doesn’t get squishy or melt away).

classes

  • figure out when you do your best work and when you do best in class and work your schedule around that, whether that means never taking a class before 11am or making sure to take a 10am class so that you’re up and moving for the rest of the day. late classes (after 5pm) can conflict with club/event things, so try not to have one every night of the week. anyone who tells you “never take a class at x time” is full of shit.
  • don’t be afraid to ask for an extension on a paper. for a lot of professors, if you get your work done and you’re a generally good student, you don’t need to have a Capital-R Reason beyond just “my paper will be better if I can have an extra 24 hours.”
  • any time you can do a reading early, do it early. just make sure to look over your notes before class.
  • everyone always says this, but seriously, participate in class. answer questions. ask questions. if you’ve got really bad anxiety about participating in a class (like I did with Greek history), write down some questions and go into office hours to talk to the prof one-on-one so that they know you’re engaged.
  • when I am writing papers, I take one entire day for just that paper, no other assignments (other than readings): therefore it is important for me to schedule my time so that I have that day, which might mean writing an essay a week early. block out time for big assignments well in advance, whether you plan your paper in one day and write in one day like I do (not recommended) or plan one evening and write a paragraph per day.
  • take notes by hand????? unless you have a medical reason to use a laptop and that is necessarily How You Take Notes, taking notes by hand is the way to go. you can’t get distracted by other tabs, you remember things better when you write them out, and a bunch of profs either really dislike if you use laptops in class or straight-up ban them without a medical accommodation. yeah the searchability of digital notes is nice, but imo for most people (though not all!!), the pros outweigh the cons for paper notes and the cons outweigh the pros for digital notes.
  • if you’re not printing the reading and annotating it, take notes on the reading by hand in a notebook. (my #1 way to take notes on readings is to annotate the reading while I read it, and then transfer my annotations to modified Cornell-style notes afterwards)
  • use whatever organizational style makes you the most happy and stress-free. I use Rhodia side-stapled notebooks for notes, yellow legal pads for things to hand in, and two expanding files, one for carrying and one for dorm. some people use binders (get a three hole punch if you do). some people use folders. your prof gives 0 shits about what you use.
  • bullet journals are cool and I want one.

How I Study @ College

Hey everyone! Here are some quick general tips about studying successfully that I’ve learned from experience! I’m currently a rising senior at my university and figured I could help out some incoming freshman :) I go to a very small university with the average class size of 25 so these might not all apply to larger schools. This is my very first study tips post, hope you like it!

1. Study Groups - Some of your classes will have TAs; use them - they’re there to a) grade your assignments and b) hold study groups. Get in contact with them ASAP and find out their plans for the semester so you can add the study sessions to your planner! For the classes that don’t have TAs: schedule your own study sessions! Pass around a sheet of paper with info @ the top (possible times/locations) and ask for names/emails/#s of anyone interested in weekly study groups. This shows initiative and is a great way to make friends who are focused on studying like you!

2. Library - I know it’s tempting to study on your bed, but DON’T!!! It makes it harder to sleep because your neurons are actually changing their connections and associating things other than bed=sleep which is BAD! I occasionally use the desk in my room for arts and crafts, but I prefer going to the library for studying for so so so many reasons:

  • My library has lots of windows and I find it easier to study with all the natural light
  • Looking around, everyone is there to work, which is motivating in and of itself
  • If you have a noisy roommate, the library is a literal life saver, trust me
  • Just don’t study in your dorm. Don’t do it. Dorm rooms are too small and full of distractions.
  • At the beginning of the school year we can sign up to keep a desk on the mezzanine where we can leave our study materials/anything we want; not only is this time saving, but it also saves desk space in my room. Find out if your library offers anything like this!
  • The staff are very friendly and always help if I need to find certain articles or books - they help me get the gears going for research projects :)
  • The library is usually the quietest place on campus and I love the atmosphere so much

3. Sleep and study time - When I was a freshman I was constantly saving all my homework until 10pm which resulted in me being tired, grumpy, and getting bad grades. If you have later classes (10am or later) I suggest setting aside an hour or two in the morning for studying. Last semester I had an 8am class on Mondays and Wednesdays, but I wanted to keep a consistent sleep schedule so I studied starting at 8am the other school days too. I plan each school day hour by hour, every day. I never stay up past midnight on a school night - always try and get 8+ hours of sleep!

4. Print the Syllabus - you want to have all your syllabuses on hand if possible - print them, write the dates in your planner, put sticky notes all over your wall for each class, whatever you need to do. There is no good excuse for turning in assignments late because you forgot the due date. Some professors will give ZEROS on late assignments. Don’t let that poor kid whose grade drops a letter just because of homework be you.

Good luck to anyone starting college in the fall!

Currently Stumped | Rowan | Prologue | Re: Game Start [Open]

His sleeping routines were usually on autopilot. Wake up every few hours from his alarm. Of course, he had to make sure to apologize to his roommate ever since discovering that he was sharing space with someone else. Adjust himself. Flop back to sleep. Rinse and repeat. While he loved his sleep and a full night of rest, it wasn’t going to happen for him. Upon drifting awake from his rather odd dream, Rowan found himself instinctively groping for his watch, ready to turn off his alarm, but it took a few moments to realize that it wasn’t going off. It took several more before he began rubbing bleary eyes and looking at the time.

10AM.

Classes began at 8.

Oh.

He jolted, certainly wide awake now by the revelation that he was late. He should have been up earlier to make preparations for the day, but it seemed like punctuality was out the window. That. That wasn’t good. Not in the slightest. Goodness, this was bad. He didn’t have the chance to ponder about the oddity of his dream, pushing the thought to the back of his mind in his rush to scramble to class. He could already imagine it. Sheepishly sliding into a classroom packed full of his peers while all eyes were drawn towards his entry. The brunette immediately blanched at the thought.

He had to salvage this somehow. Fortunately, he wasn’t the only one waking up on the wrong side of the bed. It seemed quite a few on his floor were in the same predicament, and that was a relief. He wasn’t going to be the only one late. Thank the heavens. He spoke too soon though. He should have held bated breath because everything seemed… off. There wasn’t any hustle and bustle, chit-chatter, and commotion one would expect from school, but perhaps it was because he was late? The silence was unnerving to say the least.

That was until it was interrupted by a child.

Well, time to go with the flow. Quite frankly, he found himself owlishly blinking throughout it all. With the introduction of the darkened sky, three new figures, and the ominous emptiness of the academy, Rowan merely decided that it would be for the best to accept things as it was. Come what may. It wasn’t like things were going to simply freeze in its tracks because of his confusion. At least he wasn’t the only one. There were others, including the particular trio who was taking the initiative with their situation. Their color schemes vaguely reminded him of some cartoon from his childhood. Something about a group of superheroes helping out a towns…. ville? Well, no matter what it was, he was keeping that snippet of thought to himself.

With a sheepish smile, he turned his attention towards the nearest person.

“What a mystery we have on our hands. That said, it seems as though we have time to spare with the lack of classes taking place. Pardon me if it’s too rude of me to ask. It’s understandable if you’d like to keep to yourself, but would you be interested in sparing your company?”

After all, considering how empty the school was, he wasn’t quite sure if he wanted to spend his time alone.

college!luke

You and your roommate Katie were sitting on your bed, throwing a lacrosse ball against the wall of your dorm.

“Favorite song?” She asked.

“When You Were Young by the Killers.” You replied.

“Wow. Classic.” She said and threw the ball against the wall again.

“Why’d you come to Canada?” She asked.

“I thought it’d be an adventure.” You replied. Moving here all the way from Philly to go to university was a scary thing, but it did seem like an experience you had to take. “Plus Drake always raps about it and like, how could I not?” You joked. Katie laughed and threw the ball again.

A knock on the door caused you both to stop. You stood up off the bed and went to open the door.

“Uh hi,” you said as you stood in front of 2 gorgeous guys.

“Oh uh, this is not what we were expecting.” The tall blonde one said. He had a beautiful accent that made you slightly weak at the knees.

“Wait what?” You asked. You looked back at Katie, who was still sitting on her bed. She shrugged.

“We heard something hitting the wall so we thought you were some guy having sex or something.” The guy with brown hair said.

“Uh nope, just me and my roommate.” You said. You opened the door wider so they could see Katie sitting on your bed. She waved at them.

“Then what was that noise?” The blonde one asked.

“We were throwing a lacrosse ball.” Katie yelled and held it up.

“Oh that makes sense.” The brown haired guy said. He and the blonde one exchanged a look.

“Okaaaay, well I’m Y/N, and that’s Katie.” You introduced yourself.

The blonde one pointed at himself, “Luke” he said. He then pointed behind him. “Isaac.”

Katie got off the bed and came up beside you.

“So what are your majors?” She asked. “I’m in Eng.”

“I’m in Engineering too.” Isaac said with a smile. “Guess we’ll be spending a lot of time together in the library.” Katie responded with a grin.

“I’m Pre-Med.” You said, looking at Luke. He smirked.

“Me too.” He replied. You were pretty excited that you knew someone in your program, even if it was the extremely attractive guy who lived next door.

“Cool, guess we’ll be seeing a lot of you guys.” Katie said. The guys waved to both of you and left. You shut the door and turned to look at your roommate.

“Well damn they’re hot.” She said. She returned to her place on your bed and patted the space next to her. You hopped back up on the bed and returned to your game of Q&A.

You saw Luke and Isaac several times over the Welcome Week. Each time Luke made sure to flirt with you a little. You couldn’t even deny how attractive he was. And what surprised you the most was the fact that Luke looked like he could be a total frat douche fuckboy, but he was actually very nice. You hadn’t seen him with any girls, and even better, you hadn’t heard him with any girls. The walls of the dorms were very thin, and you could hear almost everything through them so if he had a girl over, you would know.

On the first day of class, you woke up to Katie playing music and singing.

When she looked in her mirror and saw you glaring at her she turned around and smiled at you.

“Good morning Roomie. First day of classes!” She said with a smile. When you didn’t smile back she pouted at you.

“Sorry I’m not bright and cheerful for a 10am class.” You groaned and threw your covers over your head.

“Y/N Y/L/N. Get your ass out of bed and get ready. We can go get breakfast before we go to class.” Katie said. You threw the covers off and rolled out of bed.

You threw on some shoes and left the room to go to the bathroom and wash your face. You rubbed your eyes tiredly, and you ran smack into someone. They grabbed your arms as you almost fell over.

“Careful sweetheart,” Luke said. You opened your eyes and saw Luke standing in front of you. “Can’t have you hurting yourself on the first day of classes.”

“Sorry,” You replied, and stepped out of his touch. You kept walking down the hall.

“See you in bio!” He called down after you. You stopped and turned around to look at him.

“How’d you know I have bio?” You asked. He gave you a grin.

“I asked Katie what your schedule was.” He replied before sauntering off towards his room. You let out a deep sigh and went to wash your face.

When you got back to the room you jokingly yelled at Katie for giving Luke your schedule before getting ready for class.

“Come on Y/N! Let’s go get food.” Katie said. She grabbed her bag and your bag and ran out into the hall.

“Katie wait!” You called after her, grabbing your lanyard and running after her. You took your bag from her and put on the straps. “You are so impatient.” You nudged her shoulder.

You and Katie made your way to the dining hall. You grabbed some breakfast and then started looking for a table.

“Oh look, there’s Luke and Isaac.” Katie pointed and made her way over to their table. You trailed after her. By the time you got there, Katie was already sitting down and comparing schedules with Isaac

“Lovely as always, Y/N.” Luke said as you took a seat next to him.

“Hi Luke.” You replied. You started eating your breakfast.

“Are you excited for bio?” He asked. You shook your head vigorously.

“Cells and DNA are not my forte.” You replied. He looked at you strangely.

“Aren’t you Pre-Med though?” He asked. You nodded. “But you don’t like DNA? Or cells?”

“Well, I’m really only Pre-Med because my parents want to be. I want to study Kinesiology.” You replied. Luke stole one of your grapes before he replied.

“So you want to be a physical therapist?” He asked. You shrugged.

“I was thinking more athletic trainer or sports therapist.” You looked down at your plate, slightly embarrassed about talking about your plans for the future.

“That’s actually so cool.” Luke replied. He looked down at his phone and stood up. “We should probably go to class now.” You stood up with your plate, but Luke took it from your hands.

“I’ve got it princess.” He went to go put them in the dish dump.

You waved to Katie and Isaac as they left to go to the Engineering Building. You and Luke had class in the opposite direction so you couldn’t walk with them.

“Alright love, let’s go.” Luke said. He grabbed his bag off the chair.

“How many pet names can you possibly use?” You asked as you set off to class.

“I have a few up my sleeve.” Luke winked at you. You rolled your eyes. You took a sip of the coffee you held in your hand. God bless Katie’s Keurig.

“Is that tea?” Luke asked.

“Oh god no,” you replied. Luke held open the door of the lecture hall your class was in. “Tea is just hot flavored water. It’s coffee.”

“Really? I pegged you for a tea kind of girl.” Luke said.

You walked to the back row of the hall. “Do you mind sitting in the back?” Luke shook his head. You grabbed two seats in the middle of the row for the two of you.

“I like the back better.” You explained and pulled out your laptop to take notes. Luke made a comment about the background on your computer.

“Aw that’s cute. Is that at graduation?” He asked. You looked at the picture of you and your 2 best friends. It was right after graduation, and you had the biggest smiles on your faces.

“Yeah that was after we got our diplomas.” You said. You looked over at his background. “Woah, where is that?” His background was a beautiful sunset on a beach.

“That’s Sydney.” He said. “That’s my home town.”

“Why’d you come here to Canada?” You asked.

“Drake,” Luke replied. You laughed loudly, not caring that people were staring at you.

“Seriously?” You couldn’t help but remembering telling Katie the same thing.

“Nah, not really. But this school is the best in Canada and 14th in the world. Plus it has an amazing Pre-Med program.” Luke said seriously. You nodded.

“Wow, I feel that.” You mused. You turned your attention back to the front of the room where your professor started lecturing.

For the next few weeks, you went to classes, did homework, and went out with friends. You spent more and more time with Luke, since you were both in the same program.

You were staring at the diagrams in front of you, not retaining any information.

“I’m so fucking tired of staring at diagrams of naked people.” You yelled. Katie glanced over at you from her desk.

“You okay buddy?” She asked, trying to hide a smile.

“I’ve been staring at this picture of a naked man for the past hour, and I can’t remember a single thing.” You said.

“Text Luke and ask him to come study with you.” Katie said. She was putting books into her backpack. “I’m going to Robarts with Isaac.” You waved as she left.

You debated not texting Luke, before deciding to just bite the bullet and do it. It wouldn’t be the first time you two had studied together, but you were still not sure about it. You’d spent a lot of time together lately, and you couldn’t deny that you had feelings for him.

You grabbed your phone and texted Luke.

hey, you busy rn?

Not particularly. Why?

can you help me study for A&P?

Sure. I’ll be over in a few.

About 5 minutes later, there was a knock on your door. You stood up from your desk and opened the door.

“The door was hatched. You could’ve let yourself in.” You said and let him in.

“Yeah but what if you were changing or something?” He asked. He threw his bag down on the floor and hopped on your bed.

“I would’ve closed the door if I was changing.” You rolled your eyes.

“Well what’s up?” He asked. You grabbed the diagram and sat down next to him.

“I’ve been studying for literally an hour, and I can’t remember a single thing.” You said and handed him the paper.

“Okay well maybe the issue is the 2D diagram.” Luke said and put the paper down. “I think studying on a 3D model will help more because you can actually see the muscles and where they are.”

“Okaaaay so do you happen to have a 3D model of the human body?” You asked. Luke grinned and stood up.

“Yes I do.” He held out his arms.

“Are you serious?” You asked. He nodded.

“I’ll say a muscle and you point to it.” Luke said. You stood up and moved so you were in front of him.

“Okay, let’s start with biceps. Feel free to feel them by the way; I work out every day.” Luke said.

“You’re such guy.” You said and pointed to his biceps. He refused to give you another muscle until you felt his biceps.

“Good job dude,” you commented. He winked at you before he gave you another one.

“Quads.” You pointed at the muscle in his legs.

“Lats,” You pointed to the muscle on his sides, dragging you finger along the whole thing and watching him squirm.

“Luke Hemmings, are you ticklish?” You gasped jokingly.

“Shut up Y/N.” He chuckled.

“Well well Hemmings,” I grinned evilly. “I seem to have found your weakness.”

“I swear to god Y/N.” Luke huffed. You laughed as he pouted.

“Okay okay, give me another one.” You said.

Luke helped you practice for another half hour before you decided to take a break.

“Ya know, for the amount of time we spend together, we don’t know much about each other.” You said as you too lay on your bed.

“Okay so what? You want to play 20 questions?” Luke asked, somewhat sarcastically. You rolled your head to look over at him.

“You think I’m that basic? Absolutely not.” You smiled. “Let’s play firsts.”

“What the hell is that?” Luke asked, moving his head to look at you.

“You ask a question about a first time. Like ‘first time you skipped school’ or ‘first time you got drunk’.” You explained.

“Alright let’s play.” Luke agreed.

“First time you pulled trig?” You asked.

“Y/N what are you saying?” He asked.

“Right sorry I forgot that’s not a common phrase. First time you made yourself throw up.” You reexplained.

“Uuuuhhhh probably first year of high school at a party and I had to go home, but I couldn’t be hungover the next day so I made myself throw up.” Luke said.

“Wow you were a cool freshman.” You laughed. “I didn’t go to parties until senior year.”

“Okay my turn.” Luke said. “First time have sex.”

“Seriously?” You said. You punch him in the arm. “You’re such a guy.”

“Yeah yeah yeah,” he waved off your comment. “You gotta answer my question princess.”

“Never okay?” You said, cheeks pink.

“Really?” Luke looked shocked.

“Yeah? Is that a bad thing?” You asked, suddenly really self-conscious.

“No, no of course not.” Luke quickly said. “I just figured, ya know, you’re gorgeous so I assumed you would’ve had a boyfriend throughout high school or something.”

“Oh well thanks,” your cheeks were now bright red. “But I never had a serious relationship. Okay my turn. Tell me about your first time.”

“Uh okay,” Luke thought. “Senior year of high school with my girlfriend of 2 years. We broke up after graduation.”

“Right after graduation?” You asked.

“I was still wearing my grad cap and everything. We took a picture together and then she told me we should break up.” Luke replied.

“That is savage.” You couldn’t help but laugh.

“Hey, don’t laugh at me. That was a rough summer for me.” Luke pouted. You rolled onto your side so you were facing him, and he did the same.

“I’m so sorry.” You said and half hugged him. He pulled you closer so you were cradled to his chest.

“Thanks princess,” he said quietly. You looked up at him and watched as his eyes flick down to your lips before they moved back up to your eyes. You nodded once before his lips were on yours.

They were soft and warm, and exactly like you thought they’d be. The kiss was slow and gentle, as if you were a figment of his imagination and could disappear at any moment.

He rolled you over so you were on your back, and he was hovering on top of you. He pulled back a second to look at you, eyes sparkling.

“Well this is one way to study human anatomy.” You said.

“Well it is my turn to study with the 3D model.” He said with a chuckle. He kissed down your jaw.

“Masseter.” He whispered. He moved down your neck.

“Sternocleoidomasteroid.” He moved down to your collarbone.

“Subclavius.”

“I think you know the muscles better than I do.” You said breathlessly.

“Well, I did come here to help you study.” Luke replied, moving his head back up to be even with yours.

“Okay then Mr. Med School, orbicularis oris.” You said and pouted your lips at him.

He smiled at you and pressed his lips against your again. “I think we should continue these study session princess.”

“I couldn’t agree more.” You replied and pulled his face back down to yours.

A/N: Wow this is fucking long. But hi I’m back :) 10 points to anyone who can name the university I’m writing about. This is slightly inspired by an imagine by@0kbutmichaelclifford which was literally life changing soooooo I wrote this one. Love y'all -Em xx

When trying to stay healthy, lose weight, get in better shape, or do whatever it is you might be trying to do, the weekends can be a challenge. For those that are super strict during the weekend, routine and good habits often fall by the wayside when Friday night hits. For me, this has definitely been true. During the week I’ll eat healthy salads, get to all my workouts, avoid drinking and desserts but by Friday, all bets are off. While it’s important to let yourself indulge occasionally, indulgence Friday-Sunday isn’t going to do you any favors. If you’re looking to make significant changes with weight, a weekend full of treats will set you back, not allowing you to see any progress despite working hard Monday-Friday.

While some of my weekends continue to be a sh*t show, I’ve learned ways to improve my weekends so they are a good balance of health, relation with a side of indulgence.

1. Cook for your friends: Instead of going out every meal, invite friends over and cook up a healthy meal. If you can’t handle the whole menu, make it a pot luck and encourage your friends to contribute healthy dishes. You’ll save money and calories and will be able to connect with your friends better than at a noisy restaurant or bar.

2. Make it a movie or game night: One night of the weekend, invite your besties over for a low key movie or game night. By staying in to hang out with friends, you’ll be more likely to get to bed at a reasonable hour and be able to wake up refreshed and ready for a workout. Maybe it’s a sign of my age but some of the most fun weekends have included a game night with a group of friends, not out drinking at a bar.

3. Schedule your workouts: Just like you would during the week, put your workout on your calendar and stick to it. For me, I find it easiest to wake up and immediately go to the gym, before the day really begins. If I get to a 10am class, I’m home and ready for whatever the day has in store by 11:30. If I save my workout for the afternoon and a Bloody Mary filled brunch comes up, you know that workout isn’t going to happen. Get up, get it over with and go on with your day.

4. Stick to your sleep schedule: As tempting as it is to sleep until noon on the weekends, it’s going to mess up the week ahead. Try to wake up at a reasonable hour, continuing your sleep trend from the weekdays, it will make for an easier Sunday night.

5. Use Sunday night wisely: And speaking of Sunday night, take advantage of the free time you have to make a plan for the week ahead. That might include grocery shopping, meal planning, scheduling out your workouts and laying around, catching up on TV. Having a stressful or busy Sunday night may get your week off to a rough start.

“Sam?” I saw the figure of the person I love, with their lips on another. Kissing them with the passion I thought was reserved just for me. It couldn’t be. This is just a bad dream, a mistake. I must be seeing things.

“y/n, what are you doing here” faced pulled away, the others face full of shocked eyes, scurrying off after telling my love they’d call them. I stood frozen in my tracks.

“Sam, who was that? Why” I felt my bottom lip quiver as tears fell from my eyes. “I thought you loved me”

C’mon you and I both know this, us, is just high school puppy love. It’s not real.

.

“I love you. Please. We can try again and forget this please.

Hi, Alex! Thanks for answering questions. Do you have any advice for college students in regards to balancing school and writing? Thank you!

Ugh, I’m sorry, this is SO going to come across as do-as-I-say-not-as-I-do, but, actually, one of my bigger regrets in life is not fully engaging with my last two years of college because I was so obsessed with being published. It’s a personal decision that you have to make for yourself, but my advice is always to prioritize friendships and school itself. I sold my debut (Brightly Woven) at the start of second semester senior year and people basically thought I had graduated early because I was going from class -> pick up food to go -> go to library to do homework -> pick up food to go -> go back to the library to work on edits -> sleep.

I used to wake up around 6:30 every morning to edit or write until I had class at 10AM and that’s how I managed, because I discovered I liked writing in large chunks of dedicated time versus on and off.

You can make time for writing and accomplish A LOT in even an hour/day, or an hour every few days, believe me. Make a standing date for with yourself for nothing but writing time, and don’t cancel unless you absolutely have to. I started off by committing to NaNoWriMo my freshman year and experimenting with what worked best for me in terms of structuring my course work and writing time. Focus on shaping your voice and try to find other students who are interested in writing, too, that you could eventually share your work with. Like I said before, the best writing comes from living–meeting new people, experiencing that whole human range of emotion, and using that special free time you have in college to seek out new experiences. Once college is over, it’s over! And it goes by SO fast, believe me!

“Oh uh, this is not what we were expecting.” The tall one with dark brown hair said. He had a smile that made you slightly weak at the knees.

“Wait what?” You asked. You looked back at Katie, who was still sitting on her bed. She shrugged.

“We heard something hitting the wall so we thought you were some guy having sex or something.” The guy with dirty blonde hair said.

The brunette one pointed at himself, “Scott” he said.

“I’m Pre-Med.” You said, looking at Scott.

You saw Scott and Isaac several times over the Welcome Week. Each time Scott made sure to flirt with you a little. You couldn’t even deny how attractive he was. And what surprised you the most was the fact that Scott looked like he could be a total frat douche fuckboy, but he was actually very nice.

“Careful sweetheart,” Scott said. You opened your eyes and saw Scott standing in front of you.

When you got back to the room you jokingly yelled at Katie for giving Scott your schedule before getting ready for class.

“Oh look, there’s Scott and Isaac.” Katie pointed and made her way over to their table. You trailed after her. By the time you got there, Katie was already sitting down and comparing schedules with Isaac

“Lovely as always, Y/N.” Scott said as you took a seat next to him.

“Hi Scott.” You replied.

Scott stole one of your grapes before he replied.

“So you want to be a physical therapist?” He asked. You shrugged.

“I was thinking more athletic trainer or sports therapist.” You looked down at your plate, slightly embarrassed about talking about your plans for the future.

“That’s actually so cool.” Scott replied. He looked down at his phone and stood up. “We should probably go to class now.” You stood up with your plate, but Scott took it from your hands.

“I’ve got it princess.” He went to go put them in the dish dump.

You waved to Katie and Isaac as they left to go to the Engineering Building. You and Scott had class in the opposite direction so you couldn’t walk with them.

“Alright love, let’s go.” Scott said. He grabbed his bag off the chair.

“How many pet names can you possibly use?” You asked as you set off to class.

“I have a few up my sleeve.” Scott winked at you. You rolled your eyes. You took a sip of the coffee you held in your hand. God bless Katie’s Keurig.

“Is that tea?” Scott asked.

“Oh god no,” you replied. Scott held open the door of the lecture hall your class was in. “Tea is just hot flavored water. It’s coffee.”

“Really? I pegged you for a tea kind of girl.” Scott said.

You walked to the back row of the hall. “Do you mind sitting in the back?” Scott shook his head. You grabbed two seats in the middle of the row for the two of you.

“I like the back better.” You explained and pulled out your laptop to take notes. Scott made a comment about the background on your computer.

“That’s Beacon Hills.” He said. “That’s my home town.”

“Why’d you come here to Canada?” You asked.

“Drake,” Scott replied. You laughed loudly, not caring that people were staring at you.

“Seriously?” You couldn’t help but remembering telling Katie the same thing.

“Nah, not really. But this school is the best in Canada and 14th in the world. Plus it has an amazing Pre-Med program.” Scott said seriously. You nodded.

“Wow, I feel that.” You mused. You turned your attention back to the front of the room where your professor started lecturing.

For the next few weeks, you went to classes, did homework, and went out with friends. You spent more and more time with Scott, since you were both in the same program.

“Text Scott and ask him to come study with you.” Katie said. She was putting books into her backpack. “I’m going to Robarts with Isaac.” You waved as she left.

You debated not texting Scott, before deciding to just bite the bullet and do it. It wouldn’t be the first time you two had studied together, but you were still not sure about it. You’d spent a lot of time together lately, and you couldn’t deny that you had feelings for him.

You grabbed your phone and texted Scott.

hey, you busy rn?

“Okay well maybe the issue is the 2D diagram.” Scott said and put the paper down. “I think studying on a 3D model will help more because you can actually see the muscles and where they are.”

“Okaaaay so do you happen to have a 3D model of the human body?” You asked. Scott grinned and stood up.

“Yes I do.” He held out his arms.

“Are you serious?” You asked. He nodded.

“I’ll say a muscle and you point to it.” Scott said. You stood up and moved so you were in front of him.

“Okay, let’s start with biceps. Feel free to feel them by the way; I work out every day.” Scott said.

“Scott McCall, are you ticklish?” You gasped jokingly.

“Shut up Y/N.” He chuckled.

“Well well McCall,” I grinned evilly. “I seem to have found your weakness.”

“I swear to god Y/N.” Scott huffed. You laughed as he pouted.

“Okay okay, give me another one.” You said.

Scott helped you practice for another half hour before you decided to take a break.

“Ya know, for the amount of time we spend together, we don’t know much about each other.” You said as you too lay on your bed.

“Okay so what? You want to play 20 questions?” Scott asked, somewhat sarcastically. You rolled your head to look over at him.

“You think I’m that basic? Absolutely not.” You smiled. “Let’s play firsts.”

“What the hell is that?” Scott asked, moving his head to look at you.

“You ask a question about a first time. Like ‘first time you skipped school’ or ‘first time you got drunk’.” You explained.

“Alright let’s play.” Scott agreed.

“First time you pulled trig?” You asked.

“Y/N what are you saying?” He asked.

“Right sorry I forgot that’s not a common phrase. First time you made yourself throw up.” You reexplained.

“Uuuuhhhh probably first year of high school at a party and I had to go home, but I couldn’t be hungover the next day so I made myself throw up.” Scott said.

“Wow you were a cool freshman.” You laughed. “I didn’t go to parties until senior year.”

“Okay my turn.” Scott said. “First time have sex.”

“Seriously?” You said. You punch him in the arm. “You’re such a guy.”

“Yeah yeah yeah,” he waved off your comment. “You gotta answer my question princess.”

“Never okay?” You said, cheeks pink.

“Really?” Scott looked shocked.

“Yeah? Is that a bad thing?” You asked, suddenly really self-conscious.

“No, no of course not.” Scott quickly said. “I just figured, ya know, you’re gorgeous so I assumed you would’ve had a boyfriend throughout high school or something.”

“Oh well thanks,” your cheeks were now bright red. “But I never had a serious relationship. Okay my turn. Tell me about your first time.”

“Uh okay,” Scott thought. “Sophomore year of high school with my girlfriend. We broke up after graduation.”

“Right after graduation?” You asked.

“I was still wearing my grad cap and everything. We took a picture together and then she told me we should break up.” Scott replied.

“That is savage.” You couldn’t help but laugh.

“Hey, don’t laugh at me. That was a rough summer for me.” Scott pouted.

“Sternocleoidomasteroid.” He moved down to your collarbone.

“I couldn’t agree more.” You replied and pulled his face back down to yours.

A/N: Wow this is fucking long. But hi I’m back :) 10 points to anyone who can name the university I’m writing about. So let’s just pretend Scott isn’t a werewolf, and there’s no supernatural world, and Allison didn’t die okay? It’s an AU for a reason :-) Love y’all -Em
