Nara Dreamland is an abandoned theme park in Nara, Japan (east of Osaka). It was built in 1961 and was essentially a copy of Disneyland in California. The opening of Universal Studios was a crushing blow to Nara Dreamland’s dwindling attendance and, on August 31, 2006, the park closed permanently.

Hello, I’m Guramrit and I am currently working on my portfolio for MFA applications later this year. Right now, I’m on a 365 day photo challenge and its going strong. I am happy about that. I mainly click plants and self portraits but, I also like to click landscapes. I have been clicking for about 3 years now.

My gear, camera - Canon 7D and I mostly use a 50mm lens, a 100mm macro and a 10-22mm wide lens.

This year, my photography has taken a creative leap, at least I feel so. Past few years have been tough on me emotionally, so I treat self-portraits as a cathartic process. My work is not all morbid. Photography to me, is also a form of meditation. I like to believe that I can share the beauty I see around me through photography.

Please do visit my photography blog Guramrit Kaur Photography

I’m also on Flickr, Facebook and Instagram, the links to these sites are available on my blog.

Thank you for your introduction, Guramrit!
