Dr. Karev, I may be a board-certified OB/GYN, but I also have fellowships in maternal-fetal medicine and medical genetics, and I’m one of the foremost neonatal surgeons in this country. When you can top that, you can mouth off. Until then, you will do your job and you will do it right, which at this point in time means you keep your mouth shut unless I give you permission to open it. Understood?
“I just wonder, I think I’ve always wondered, where that strength comes from. That dignity and grace, that you have put on in the face of everything that’s happened in your life. Because I really wanna be that kind of person someday."…"You already are Brooke Davis, you’ve come further than anyone I know.”
Murphy was extremely uncomfortable with everything about this plan, even though he acted like a tough guard around the pen of Grounders. He didn’t just think, “Finn you dumbass this plan will never work“ but "Finn this is the wrong thing to do.” He was of sound mind and felt remorse for his own actions as well as Finn’s actions. You can see the flicker of guilt and concern when he looks at the Grounder girl in the third gif. For once he realizes that there is no reason to be harming people. The difference between the Murphy we know and love to hate and this new corrupt Finn is Murphy kept his murderous actions limited to the people who had wronged him. Deep inside, Finn knew that even if Clarke were being held by the Grounders, it was not by the Grounders he had penned up. These people were children and the elderly, none of them warriors. Murphy knows that these people have done nothing to deserve the harm and trauma that Finn is causing them. Murphy kept quiet and let Finn do what he wanted in fear that he would provoke Finn into hurting an innocent tribe of people. But it was written all over his face that he was uncomfortable with this course of action. He was forced to step in eventually in efforts to convince Finn that what he is doing is wrong. But there was no turning back, Finn The Peacemaker is gone.
