.357mag

3

Ruger SP101 (.357 magnum / .38-Special), 5-round cylinder, the family’s home-defense gun when I was growing up.

The 2.25in snub barrel offers a challenge when shooting at a target beyond a few yards. Or maybe I just suck. Putting .357MAG through this puppy makes a heck of a wallop; .38SP is less strain on the wrist, more accurate, and cheaper.

This is a heavy, solidly-built, finely-crafted firearm. Ruger makes a hell of a gun.

ECT:

  • 6 people carry revolvers
  • quite a few people have more than one gun that they choose from to carry
  • roughly 50 people actually answered the question correctly

About 160-170 people participated, which is a small sample size, but the information is still interesting.
In the interest of streamlining the data i focused on the more common firearms entered, however i recorded every caliber carried.
Some of the data is based off of notes from the prompt post and the others came from PMs.
Hope you find this interesting!
And thanks to those who participated in doing their part to help make the world a safer place.
Carry on.
