Do you have any advice on how to start writing meta? I have SO MUCH I wanna say but I have no idea how to start doing that kinda thing and getting anybody to listen
Hey there. I’m not an expert or anything (and my posts tend toward observation rather than meta), but I’d say first of all, make sure you tag really well so people can find it if that’s what they’re looking for. Tag it with Dean Winchester and Dean Winchester Meta and SPN meta and on and on (or whoever you want to talk about).
The other good way is obviously to have high-visibility bloggers reblog your stuff. So, if you want, you can tag people with whom you share similar views. Some of them won’t do anything with it, but some will. And if they like what you’re saying, especially if they want to add their own thoughts to it, they will reblog and their followers will see it and if they like it they will reblog it and on and on it goes.
I think sometimes having gifs or screenshots helps to make points. It can add credibility to whatever you’re saying.
Also, if you know that certain bloggers don’t mind if you’re adding commentary to their posts (but beware some bloggers do not like that), do that too so like-minded people will see the additions and go searching your blog for more. I have also found some faves just from straight reblogs when I’m trying to see who agrees with whatever the post was. Or from reading tag metas as well. Those can be effective for people to find your blog.
It might take awhile for people to find you, but I think that’s fairly normal, so don’t get discouraged. So, just go for it and have fun. Good luck!
