Thanks. You can put it on the counter in the kitchen.”

That had been Jack’s first mistake.

It wasn’t so much the words he said, but rather the fact that he’d said them in French.

However, to Jack’s credit, he had been in the middle of revising a chapter when he’d heard the knock on his door, and the fact that he hadn’t had any caffeine yet due to the broken coffee maker had thrown off his entire morning.

He had been expecting Georgia, the lady he rented the cabin from, to be standing on his door step. However, instead of the landlord, he got a blond guy with wide, brown eyes staring back at him.

There was a sort of gurgle of surprise and a nervous giggle from the other guy for a moment before he blurted, “Hi, I’m your new housekeeper!”

Jack raised an eyebrow, but didn’t say anything in his confusion. Francine, Georgia’s wife, usually stopped by once every couple of days to tidy up the place, but neither of the two ladies had mentioned anything about a new hire.

Jack must have been lost in thought for a moment too long because the other guy took this as a sign that Jack didn’t speak English. “Uh, you know, cleaning?” He mimed a sweeping action and then pointed at Jack. “Ummm, je… travaille pour Georgia?” he said in a truly horrendous accent.

Jack gave an impatient nod of his head.

Je m’appelle Eric or you can call me Bitty. Actually, je m’appelle Bitty,” he said proudly with his hand out.

There was something about the other guy’s candidness that made Jack pause, or maybe he had been trapped in a cabin for too long, but he reached out and took the handshake.

It’s nice to meet you,” Jack replied in French.

And that had been his second mistake.

The Only Exception (Part 1)

Summary: AU. Reader is given the task of running a popular love advice internet show when her coworker is fired. Her cynical attitude toward love makes her offer some harsh advice, and more than a few hearts are caught in the aftermath. Will hers be one of them?

Pairing: Bucky Barnes x reader

Word Count: 3,442

Warnings: language, fluff, wishful thinking, hot firemen, sarcasm, cynicism, bad jokes

A/N: Okay, so I saw a movie a long long time ago that was terrible, but it inspired the ‘bad’’ love advice and the firemen. I’ve been dying to have fireman!Bucky in one of my AUs.

And yes, the title comes from the Paramore song. I felt like it’s how reader feels throughout. Hope you guys like it. I had some writer’s block, and some house guests, so this is a little late being posted.

The winter air is colder today; Jungkook shoves his fingers into the pocket of his jeans. He quickly strides forward, breathing ragged as white mist dances before his lips; his camera slams against his chest as he breaks into a run.

He has always enjoyed winter. There’s something about the serenity of the season—a time littered with sprinkles of hope, joy, and laughter—that somehow always manages to warm his heart. His fondest memories are born during this time of year, images of a chocolate fondue, his smiling older brother, and giant Christmas presents tucked neatly into the corner of his mind.

His camera bounces as he halts abruptly, and he pushes through the doors of the coffee shop.

“Jungkookie! You’re back!”

Family

Ford leaned against the gates beside his brother. They were currently outside the gates of Wildwood Middle School, Piedmont, waiting to pick Dipper and Mabel up from school. They had arrived in California unannounced. They’d docked the Stan O’ War II over in Emeryville and had been picked up by Dipper and Mabel’s parents. Neither party had told the kids they were coming - it was a surprise. It was roughly two months into the school year and two months since the older Pines twins had first set sail on the Stan O’ War. They had decided to pay the kids a visit. Dipper and Mabel’s father, Jason, had been overjoyed to discover that his supposedly ‘dead’ Uncle Stanley was actually still alive and that Ford was here too. It had been a fairly tearful reunion on both parts - Ford had barely met his nephew before and he’d been elated to finally get to know him properly. The younger twins’ mother, Kristen, was really pleased to meet them too.

“What time did Kristen say the kids finished?” Ford looked over at Stan. “Three, wasn’t it?”

Stan checked his watch. “Yeah, they should have been out by now, surely.”

As if on cue, a loud bell rang out across the school grounds and a minute later kids started filing out, meeting up with their parents and friends and leaving. The older Pines twins scanned the sea of children for any sight of Mabel and/or Dipper. After five minutes, Mabel’s familiar cheery voice could be heard over the crowd. Stan and Ford stayed put, waiting for her to get closer. Mabel walked right past them, barely able to see them beyond the taller kids either side of her. She seemed to be looking for her parents.

“Where do you think you’re going?” Stan called.

Mabel whirled round and gasped. A wide smile instantly spread across her face and she ran towards them. “GRUNKLE STAN! GRUNKLE FORD!” She exclaimed, running up to them and embracing both of them in tight hugs. “What are you doing here?!”

“Well, we were passing California and thought we’d come and visit you.” Ford was beaming, hugging her tightly. “We docked the boat over in Emeryville.”

“We couldn’t resist coming to see you,” Stan grinned, lifting Mabel up and embracing her tightly. The little girl wrapped her arms around his neck, giggling.

“It’s so good to see you too! What’s the boat like? Have you found any monsters? Have you found any treasure?!”

“Relax, pumpkin,” Stan chuckled, setting Mabel back down again. “We’ll explain everything when we get home.”

“You’re staying with us?!” Ford didn’t think it was possible for Mabel’s smile to get any bigger, but he was proved wrong. “Really?!”

“Yep,” Ford grinned. “We’ll be staying in the spare room at your place,”

“How long will you be staying?”

“Dunno,” Stan shrugged. “Until your parents get fed up and kick us out.” He smirked.

Ford laughed. “That could either be in an hour or a month.”

“Dipper’s gonna be so happy to see you guys!” Mabel turned round, scanning the crowd for her twin. “When he eventually gets out.”

Ford stood on the tips of his toes to look over the heads of the parents in the crowd. For a moment, he was looking for the familiar blue and white pine tree cap, but then remembered the boy had traded hats with the ginger Mystery Shack employee (Wendy? Was that her name?) before they had left Gravity Falls. Sure enough, he soon spotted the boy amongst the crowd. “Dipper!”

Dipper perked up as he heard his name being called. He frowned. That couldn’t be who he thought it was, could it? No, they were out on the boat - That was until he saw Grunkle Ford’s head above those of the other parents. “Grunkle Ford!” He rushed forward, shoving kids out of the way.

A split second later, Ford had been tackled by the young boy. He laughed, scooping Dipper up into his arms and hugging him tightly. “Good to see you too!”

Dipper laughed, his deerstalker hat lying lopsided on his head, as he wrapped his arms around Ford. “What are you doing here?”

“We were sailing past California and decided to come and see you.” Ford grinned, putting Dipper down beside his sister. “We’ll be staying at your place for a little while.”

“Really?!” Dipper’s reaction mirrored his sister’s. “Wait… we?”

Stanley laughed. “Hey, where’s my hug?”

“Grunkle Stan!” Dipper ran over to the other man, hugging him equally as tightly. “You’re here too?!”

“Course. What, you thought Ford left me on the boat so he could see you all by himself?” Stan chuckled, hoisting Dipper up into his arms for a better hug. “No way was I staying put on the boat!”

“Come on, you guys!” Mabel grabbed Ford’s hand and started dragging him towards where the car was parked. “Let’s go! I’ve got so much cool stuff to show you!”

Ford laughed and looked over his shoulder at Stanley. “Yeah, Stan, come on! I can’t drive, remember?”

Stanley scoffed and put Dipper down, following his brother and Mabel over to where they’d parked their parents’ car (they’d borrowed the family Volvo). “Only because you forgot how to,”

Ford tried to look indignant, which was kind of difficult with a hyperactive thirteen-year-old clinging to his wrist. “Hey! It’s not my fault I didn’t drive for thirty or so years while I was lost!”

Stanley shoved his brother’s shoulder playfully as he caught up to them, Dipper by his side. “Yeah, I know, Poindexter. Those alien cars were too weird, huh?”

“Do you have any idea how difficult they are to steal - I mean operate?” Ford coughed.

Stanley burst out laughing. “You tried to steal one? My brother, Mr Couldn’t-Even-Take-Free-Samples? Didn’t that Sanchez guy ever lend you his car?”

“A) It was a ship, not a car,” Ford held up a finger. “And B) No, he was always the one driving.”

Stanley rolled his eyes as they got to the car. He climbed into the driver’s side. Ford went to open the passenger side door, but Mabel beat him to it. “I wanna sit up front!”

“No fair!” Dipper protested. “You had shotgun on the way here!”

“Did not. You’re lying,” Mabel stuck her tongue out at him.

“Am not!”

“Are to!”

“Am not!”

“Are to!”

Ford gently pushed Mabel out the way and stood in front of the door to the front passenger seat. “Right, how about I get shotgun privilege, since you can’t decide who gets it?”

“No!” Both of the younger twins cried in unison. “That’s not fair!”

“Grunkle Ford Mabel had it on the way here!” Dipper protested.

Ford shrugged. “Maybe I want to sit in the front seat for a change?”

Stanley was laughing. “Just sit in the front, Mabel.” he chuckled. “But Dipper gets shotgun on the next two trips, okay?”

Mabel stuck her tongue out at Dipper again and climbed into the front seat, dumping her school bag on the floor. “Thanks Grunkle Stan!”

Dipper pouted and got into the driver’s side rear seat. Ford sat next to him and pulled his seatbelt on. “It’s alright Dipper. You get shotgun next turn, anyway.”

Dipper smirked. “Okay,”

Stanley started the car and adjusted the rearview mirror. “Seatbelts on?”

“Yes!” The three passengers said simultaneously.

Stan looked in the mirror at his brother. “Was that really necessary?”

Ford crossed his arms, a smug grin on his face. “Yep, now would you just drive?”

Stanley rolled his eyes and put the car into gear before pulling out into the road and heading back towards the kids’ house. Ford leaned back in the seat, one arm around Dipper’s shoulders. Dipper leaned against him. “So,” Dipper said. “What’s the boat like?”

“It’s not bad, actually,” Stan said. “McGucket helped us with a lot of the construction, so as you can imagine it’s got a lot of tech built into it. He somehow managed to invent and then integrate a filtration system that filters all the crud and salt out of the seawater and then even heats it so we can have a functioning shower and taps and everything. That way we don’t have to make frequent stops at ports to have the water tanks refreshed.”

“He also hooked up fully functional solar panels so we could have a constant source of power,” Ford added. “He’s found a way to use the panels to charge a main battery in the boat so that we have power during rainy days too. There are several backup batteries on board too.”

“He even managed to set up a system so that we could have constant phone and internet signal.” Stan said. “The man’s a genius.”

“So you can, like, watch TV and stuff while you’re on the boat?” Dipper grinned. “That’s awesome.”

“Well, no, on account of the fact that we don’t have a television on board,” Ford pointed out. “As much as Stanley wanted to have one, it would use far too much power. We each have a laptop, though, and plenty of books.”

“What! No TV?” Mabel gasped. “How on Earth can you manage without TV?”

Ford laughed. “That’s what Stanley said, but he’s been just fine so far.”

“So far,” Stan emphasised. “Trust me, I’m slowly going insane on that boat what with Ford’s incessant rambling.”

“I do not ramble!” Ford said indignantly. “I have perfectly meaningful conversations with myself!”

“First sign of madness - talking to yourself.” Stan pointed out. “Face it, Poindexter, you’re losing it.”

Ford laughed. “Of course I’m insane if I spent the last two months stuck on a boat with you.”

Stanley glared in the mirror at his brother, only causing Ford to laugh again. “You know I can still throw you overboard in your sleep.”

“I can swim,” Ford crossed his arms. “Plus, I know you wouldn’t throw me over.”

“Could we see the boat?” Mabel asked. “It sounds really cool!”

“Of course! We could take you down after dinner, if you wanted,” Stan offered as he pulled into the driveway. The kids immediately jumped out and ran up to the front door. Ford climbed out, soon followed by his brother. Stanley locked the car and followed the kids up to the front door. Dipper unlocked the door and let them in.

“Mom! Dad! We’re home!” He called.

“Why didn’t you tell us Grunkle Stan and Grunkle Ford would be here?!” Mabel demanded as her mother came out of the kitchen.

Kristen laughed. “It was meant to be a surprise! They arrived a couple of hours ago.”

Mabel turned and glared at Stan, smirking slightly. “So you told them you were coming but you didn’t tell us?!”

Stan put his hands up in defence, grinning. “Hey, you were happy to see us, weren’t you?”

There was a snort from the kitchen before a small pink blur knocked Stan over and started licking his face. The man laughed and lifted the pig off his chest. “Good to see you too Waddles.”

Ford knelt down and gave the pig an affection scratch behind the ear. Waddles snorted happily before trotting off into the living room. Ford stood back up straight and looked at Kristen. “So you weren’t particularly against having a pig in the house?”

“No, he’s surprisingly well trained,” Kristen looked to where the pig was settling down into a small dog bed. “No mess and he barely leaves hair anywhere.”

Dipper grabbed Ford’s hand and started dragging him towards the stairs. “C’mon Grunkle Ford you gotta see our bedroom!”

“Hold on Dipper,” Ford laughed. “Let me take my shoes off first.” Dipper waited all of thirty seconds while Ford removed his shoes before dragging him up the stairs again. Mabel dragged Stan upstairs too. The kids showed Stan and Ford all their schoolwork, pictures, projects and everything they’d been doing since they left Gravity Falls. Dipper showed Ford a journal he’d been writing in, similar to Ford’s own journals, and Mabel showed Stan all the new sweaters she’d knitted. She presented both of her grunkles with a new sweater each. Ford’s was a deep navy blue with a golden six-fingered hand embroidered on the front. Stan’s was dark red with his ‘Order of the Holy Mackerel’ logo on the front.

At about five o’clock, Kristen called up the stairs. “Dinner’s ready!”

Mabel and Dipper instantly dropped whatever they had been holding and rushed downstairs. Ford and Stan followed them. They sat down at the large dining table in the kitchen just as Kristen was setting down plates of lasagne portions in front of the kids. She gave another plate each to Stan, Ford and her husband before taking her own and sitting down.

“So,” Kristen started. “What sort of things do you eat on the boat?”

“Dried and canned things, mostly,” Ford said. “We’ve got a freezer on board, so we can have frozen meat, veg and fish too, but nothing anywhere near as good as this,” he placed a forkful of lasagna in his mouth.

Stan was wolfing down his food at a rapid pace and nodded. Ford whacked his shoulder. “Stan! Eat properly, not like a pig!”

Waddles gave an indignant snort, causing the family to chuckle. Stan swallowed. “I’m not that bad!”

“At least chew your food, don’t inhale it.” Ford rolled his eyes and kept eating. He looked across the table at the kids. “How was school?”

Dipper seemed to go quiet as Mabel instantly burst into a speech about everything she’d done. “Well, first off in Chemistry we got to make crystals, then in Biology we dissected a kidney, then in Art we got to draw any creature we wanted - I drew Waddles, obviously, and Dipper drew a gnome - then in English we had to write a short story, then in -”

Ford seemed to zone out to what Mabel was saying, more focused on Dipper. The boy had his hands folded in his lap and his head was down, his dinner sitting on the table forgotten. He kept clenching his eyes shut and wiping them with the back of his hand. Ford cleared his throat and put his fork down. “Dipper? How was your day?”

Dipper seemed startled by the question, rubbing his eyes furiously. “Oh, it was… it was fine. Kind of boring, really,”

Ford frowned as the boy kept eating, albeit slowly. He decided not to press the issue any further at the dinner table. Mabel was still excitedly telling her parents all about the story she had written in English. Once they had all finished eating and the kids were excused from the table, Dipper went straight back upstairs. Ford heard him slam the bedroom door shut. Mabel, however, frowned and went into the living room and began watching TV. Waddles trotted after her and sat on the floor in front of the couch.

Ford rose from the table. “Excuse me a moment,” he said, tucking his chair in and heading upstairs to the kids’ room. He knocked on the door gently. “Dipper?”

Ford heard sniffling from behind the door, before a quiet “Come in,” was heard. The man turned the doorknob and let himself in. Dipper was sat on his bed cross-legged and wiping his eyes. Ford closed the door quietly behind him and sat beside the boy.

“Care to tell me what’s wrong?”

Dipper stayed quiet for a moment, thinking. “.. have you ever felt like no matter what, people are still really mean to you, even if they don’t know you?”

Ford bit his lip and weighed his options. He could approach this question in several different ways. He could ask why Dipper felt this way, give a quick laugh and assure the boy that he had, or reassure Dipper that he was a perfectly wonderful young man who didn’t deserve the treatment he was getting. He opted for the straightforward answer. “Yes, unfortunately these -” He held up his hands and moved his extra fingers “- meant that, without even getting to know me first, my classmates treated me horribly.”

Dipper nodded, quietly avoiding Ford’s concerned gaze. He wrung his hands in his lap, biting his lip nervously. “Right… should have guessed that…”

Ford laid a hand on Dipper’s shoulder gently. “Trouble with kids at school?”

The boy nodded, tears stinging his eyes again. “Yeah, they keep picking on me, and calling me mean names,”

“Can I ask what?” Ford asked gently.

“Dipshit, dipstick, starboy and… uh…” Dipper bit his lip harder, almost enough to draw blood. “Freak,”

Ford felt an icy chill go down his spine. He was more than used to hearing others call himself a freak, but to learn that Dipper was also on the receiving end of such insults was sickening. His grip on the boy’s shoulder tightened momentarily. He loosened his grip, pulling Dipper closer to sit in his lap. He shuffled back on the bed, sitting up against the wall. “Di - Mason, can I tell you something?”

Dipper, still unused to hearing his real name from anyone other than his parents, took a moment to answer. “Yeah,”

Ford swallowed and took a deep breath. “When I was growing up, between the ages of four and eighteen, I had a similar experience to yourself. People took one look at my hands and decided that, as I was different, I should be punished. At every opportunity, I was insulted, shouted at, shoved, punched, kicked, beaten and I was frequently the primary target in food fights. After a while, I’d had enough” He held his left hand out in front of Dipper. “See that scar?”

Dipper held Ford’s hand in both of his own, looking at the thin scar running across the knuckle of his sixth finger. “Yeah,”

Ford took another deep breath. “I was fifteen when I did that. I locked myself in the bathroom one evening with a knife and attempted to remove my finger. I thought that maybe, if I got rid of the extra fingers, I could be normal. People would stop picking on me and I could finally get along with my peers.” His hand was shaking slightly, his voice beginning to crack. The memory was still painful. “I was a fool, and if hadn’t been for Stanley, I would have succeeded. He broke the door down and brought me straight to a hospital. He made it absolutely clear to me that removing my extra fingers was not the solution. It took me thirty years drifting through all sorts of interdimensional horror to realise that.”

Dipper was quiet, his mind processing everything that Ford had said. He hadn’t expected his great uncle to confess something like that. His thumb ran absentmindedly back and forth across Ford’s scar. “I sometimes wear make-up,” he eventually said. “To cover up my birthmark. I use Mom’s foundation. That’s why I always used to wear my pine tree hat, ‘cause it pushed my hair down over my forehead so nobody would see it.” The boy turned around so he was sitting facing Ford. “I don’t like wearing makeup, but it’s the only thing that stops them laughing at me. They laugh at me for wearing makeup, too,”

Ford sighed quietly, pulling Dipper into a hug. He laid his chin on top of Dipper’s head. “It’s tough,” he said quietly. “Especially when it’s not something like a person’s weight, which can be altered with some effort.”

He felt Dipper tremble in his arms and felt something wet seeping into the top of his shirt. He stroked Dipper’s back gently. “It’s okay… shh… it’s okay…”

Dipper laid his cheek against Ford’s chest, listening to his heartbeat. Ford lifted his sleeve to dry the boy’s tears. Ford ran all six of his fingers through his nephew’s hair soothingly. “It’s going to be alright, Mason. I know your classmates’ behaviour may tell you otherwise, but the biggest supporter of you is yourself.” He kissed the top of Dipper’s head gently. “You’ve always got Mabel too. You’ve always got your twin by your side, which is more than can be said for some people.”

Dipper nodded, wiping his nose on a tissue. “Yeah, I guess. She’s got so many friends, though. I don’t want to be a burden on her.”

Ford squeezed Dipper’s hand. “I felt the same way when I was at school. My brother had the potential to have a lot of friends, but he constantly spent his time keeping bullies away from me. He could have been very popular if it hadn’t been for the fact that he was protecting me. But let me tell you something: he wouldn’t change his actions for the world. You can ask him - he doesn’t regret any of it. I’m sure Mabel would be more than happy to spend time with you.”

Dipper smiled. “Thanks, Grunkle Ford.”

Ford smiled. He turned Dipper round to face him. “Besides, I’m sure you remember some of those curses from the journals. If people continue to give you trouble, have at it.”

Dipper laughed and hugged his uncle. “Thanks Grunkle Ford, seriously.”

Ford hugged him back and ruffled his hair. “No problem. Now, what do you say we got and get some ice cream from the parlour down the road?”

Dipper smiled and got to his feet, pulling Ford up off the bed. “Sure.”

Forduary Week 4: Family

Reggie Mantle x Reader Locker-room Confessions

Request:
Could you maybe do a Reggie x reader where the reader is Jughead’s sister and she’s getting bullied by Chuck and Moose and he catches her crying in the locker room looking for Archie and comforts her and tells her nice stuff and compliments her and just fluff and cuteness.

A/N: This was my first request so I enjoyed it plenty, I hope you love it or least like it! It takes a while to get to the Reggie x Reader only because I wanted it to have a good storyline.

Words: 1511

Pairing: Reggie x Reader

Summary: Reader is Jughead’s sister and gets bullied and Reggie comes to the rescue.

Spoilers: There may or may not be a kiss.

Warnings: Like three swear words.

Being Jughead’s sister was not easy at Riverdale High. Everyone questioned you for the small similarities and differences that you had with each other. You hung out mostly with Jughead’s friends since you grew up with them as well.  You were only a year apart in age, but not by grade level. Some even questioned you both if you were twins and Jug became tired of it, so he would claim you were fraternal twins. The high school caste system was not really in favor of you and your brother. You’re brother Jughead had it worse with The Goonies as he called them. He was “freak” to them because he was different than the testosterone filled, brainless guys at your school. Jug was the brooding writer, keeping to himself. You however would dress like him plenty of times, but you liked to try different styles and colors. You were usually the one they’d catch smiling more often. You just tried your best enjoy the hell hole that high school was especially in a small town.

During the weekend you had a sleepover with Veronica and Betty at Veronica’s house. You were mesmerized by the aesthetic of Veronica’s. There was something about big homes that you thoroughly enjoyed, since your family had a small house. You didn’t complain though, you were just happy your family was back together and your dad was getting his act together.

You were thankful for these friends that made Riverdale suck a little less. You had fun with them, as they helped you escape from life for a while when you hung out with them. Veronica was new, but it felt like you had known her all your life. It was now Sunday morning and you all had just eaten breakfast.

“Here you go” Veronica spoke up while you were hanging out in her room.

“What’s this?” You questioned her as you opened the gift bag and took a box out with the most mesmerizing sneaker wedges you had wanted when you guys went window shopping a week before.

Your eyes dilated, and a small smile was forming on your face until you looked up and spoke up “I- I- I can’t take these Ron.”

“Now why not? Those would look great on you with that crop top you bought, but never wore” Veronica declared.

“You would look amazing, (Y/N)” Betty budded in with a smile on her face.

“I just, you guys can’t keep buying me stuff, my parents, and I am not going to be your charity case” you declared with a sad look in your face.

“Oh c’mon you are not my charity case (Y/N/N), I simply bought the wrong size shoe and can’t return them” She retorted.

“Yeah, I was there they would not let her return them” Betty innocently added on the lie.

“You can’t return them?” You questioned Ron with hopeful eyes.

“Nope and now that I look at them they’re not really my style and I don’t want to see them go to waste” Veronica added on with a smirk on her face.

You thanked her, and promised to wear them on Monday, with some ripped skinny jeans and the crop top as you left her house to work your shift at Pops.

Monday came and you hesitated on the outfit, but you put it on anyway since you weren’t going to let down Ronnie, and weren’t going to let your money go to waste by never wearing the crop top.

You took a quick glance in the mirror and smiled confidently and walked out of your home to get to school.

As you arrived, you felt all eyes on you and it made you slightly uncomfortable until you caught a glimpse of Ronnie and Betty and walked towards them.
“Hey” you said shyly to the blonde and brunette.

They turned to look at you and you heard gasps coming out of their mouth with a wide eyes plastered on their faces.

“My god! (Y/N) you are gorgeous” Betty declared.

“The phoenix rises! (Y/N) you look hot!” Ronnie added on and you couldn’t help but cover your face and giggle as Kevin approached you three by the lockers.

He did a double take not believing it was you until he added to the compliments “Smokin’ (Y/N), if I weren’t gay you’d be on my list” as you all laughed at his words.

You all departed to your classes and plenty of people complimented you on your outfit.

It was the end of the day and you were at your locker, when The Goonies approached you in the empty hallway.

You just gave a huff closing your locker thinking you just might get catcalled, surprised though that Reggie was not with them. You remembered you actually hadn’t seen Reggie with them for a couple of days now.

The Goonies were surrounding you, you couldn’t escape them, and they trapped you against your locker.

Moose spoke up “Look at the ugly duckling thinking she is turning into a goose.”

“Yeah Goose” The other jocks repeated.

“Don’t you mean swan?” You retorted sarcastically.

“Whatever, besides you’d never be a swan” Moose scowled at you “I just wanted you to know that not even like that, no one will even look your way”

“I don’t know” Chuck added on “You’d be a good, onetime thing, don’t you think she’d like maple syrup?”  He spoke to the guys and he creepily caressed your cheek as you swapped his hand off your cheek.

“What do you think freak? Would you like a bit of Chuck in your life” he whispered in your ear.

“You’d really consider this piece of trash?” Moose spoke up

“The thing about trash is, you use it, and then when you’re done with it you throw it away” Chuck gave you a smirk as he turned to collect high fives from the guys and you took it as a chance to flee and go looking for Archie in the locker room to ask him to take you home, or ask him where Jughead was.

As you fled from The Goonies, you heard the collective laughter from the venom filled mouths as you tried to hold in your tears.

You arrived at the locker room and much to your dismay it was empty. You started hearing the rain from the outside and realized they probably cancelled practice.

You sat down in one of the benches and started sobbing, until you felt someone sit next you so you stopped and turned your attention to see who it was.

“I am so sorry about those jerks” Reggie spoke up as he rubbed his thumbs up to cheeks to rid of the tears “They never did learn how to treat a lady” Reggie added.

“What are you doing?” You questioned him, confused as to why he was being so nice to you when he was the one that bullied your brother.

“I- I am” He stuttered as he grabbed you by the hand, not knowing what to say.

“Wow a speechless Reggie that’s new” you chuckled.

“I’m just really sorry about those assholes, I’ll take care of them though” He smiled at you.

“How?” You asked him.

“Well I am captain of the football team (Y/N)” He stated.

“Why would you help me though? They bullied me, and you bully my brother with them” You spoke up “What’s the difference?” you added on.

“(Y/N) I am really sorry about that, I regret ever being rude to Jughead, I really am” He said with disappointed look on his face.

“Why were you rude to Jug? Does this mean you are going to leave him alone? I noticed you haven’t been hanging out with the guys for a while now” You rambled on, not knowing how to react this soft side of Reggie.

“Um” he mumbled while scratching his head “I kind of have a crush on you” He spoke softly with a small smile on his face.

“What?” You gulped as he caught you by surprise.

“I promise to apologize to Jughead,  I know I was stupid for going down that route” He paused and spoke again “I’ll apologize, I swear, wo- woul- would you go out on a date with me? Please?” He proclaimed with a sparkle in his eyes.

“Only if you apologize to Jug” You smiled at him, surprised to seeing this vulnerable side to Reggie made him so much more handsome.

“Deal, Thank you, I will, I’ll also take care of the idiots who bullied you” Reggie proclaimed as he pulled you in for a hug.

As you two pulled away you started missing his tight hug until Reggie grabbed you by the chin and planted his lips on yours.

Your stomach was filled with butterflies and your lips were in sync with his.

“(Y/N) where are you? Moms going crazy, it is raining and you’re not answering your- uh- phone” Jughead interrupted your kiss with wide eyes and wide mouth plastered on his face and you couldn’t help but smile.

anonymous asked:

could you tell me what gorilaz is.? i literally have No Idea

it’s a band! it was created by damon albarn (the guy from blur) and jamie hewlett (he made tank girl, the comic not the weird movie) to make fun of mtv but it got very out of hand very quickly. (that’s a good thing to me though jxhjsfkj) basically the whole thing is a real life band but all of the members are fictional characters. the music is REALLY good i highly recommend it

so getting on to the actual story, in universe the whole thing started cause this one guy, murdoc niccals, (this is him)

was Up To No Good trying to steal some keyboards from this shop, uncle norman’s organ/keyboard emporium to start a band. you can probably guess what band it is. this boy stuart pot happens to be working at the shop at the time, which will be important later and by later i mean like one sentence after this. so murdoc crashes his car into the shop, but it ends up crashing straight into stuart’s eye which fills it up with blood….;_; it ends up sending him into a coma. poor guy

so murdoc has to take care of him for whatever reason because the legal system in their universe is somehow even worse than it is in real life. one day he’s doing a bunch of tricks with stuart in his car, and goes too far and knocks stu out the window. ;_; x2 …so he lands on the ground and his other eye also fills up with blood, but it ALSO sends him out of his coma. so he gets up and he looks like this. (except presumably less happy and more covered in blood)

<3

and murdoc is like “woah this guy is hot i’m gonna make him join my band” and decides to call him 2-D cause he has 2 dents in his head. not cause he’s 2 dimensional or anything.

the next person murdoc decides to make join the band is russel hobbs, who is pretty well known because he’s a really good musician and also because he has a bunch of ghosts possessing him.

murdoc decides to kidnap him because he thinks that’s a good idea for whatever reason. unfortunately this is not the last time he kidnaps someone. russel actually doesn’t really care that much though and joins the band anyways.

by now they already have a guitarist whose name i’m not going to mention because i hate her, but she gets kicked out. so they need a new guitarist, they put an ad up, and IMMEDIATELY this fedex crate shows up at their door and this girl pops out.

she calls herself noodle because it’s the only english word she knows, and then proceeds to play the best guitar riff of all time. so they’re a band now! lots of weird things happen.

russel’s ghost boyfriend del shows up to rap and terrorize the rest of the band a bunch but like, terrorizing them in a nice way. if that makes sense.

eventually they try to make a movie and Trouble Arises when it turns out the director is literally making up everything on the spot, murdoc decides they should make the movie themselves, so 2-D starts making ideas for it.

 after a really long time spent on making ideas murdoc gets really mad and tries to strangle 2-D. :,( russel and noodle start fighting him over it and he decides he doesn’t need them anymore and leaves. he goes to jail like 5 seconds after.

so they all go out to do gorilla things. 2-D has a lot of fun ^_^ and works at an amusement park for a little bit, murdoc is still in jail, russel tries to make his own album but demons keep trying to drag him down to hell and del gets exorcised so things are not going too well for him, and noodle goes back to japan and finds out she’s actually part of a child soldier project and had her memories erases, and can speak fluent english as well as a bunch of other cool stuff.

murdoc breaks out of jail.

so noodle starts their next album, demon days. they have fun and make a bunch of music videos but More Trouble Arises when this weird fan named jimmy manson starts trying to kill everyone in the band.

 so murdoc makes a fake deal with him to kill noodle, and a real deal with noodle so that she can temporarily leave the band. and while they’re filming the video jimmy gets locked inside of her big floating island (that’s a thing she has.) so noodle fakes her death, jimmy actually does die, everything is going well except when the video is over noodle is actually completely gone.

everyone is freaking out about this, and it turns out she got dragged down to hell by those same demons that were trying to do that to russel earlier…probably.

because of this, 2-D decides to quit gorillaz and make his own thing, russel goes into the ocean to find her, and murdoc goes to hell. except not really, he was just really drunk.

for real this time, murdoc goes to the place where noodle kind of died and made a robot out of her dna, cyborg noodle. she’s scary.

then he gets chased away by these pirates he scammed created by someone called the boogieman who you’ll see again soon.

 while he’s trying to hide he finds this big island in the middle of the ocean away from all humanity called point nemo. he does the logical thing and spray paints it all pink, builds a really weird house (if you can call it that) on top, and calls it plastic beach.

he calls 2-D to come work on the album, but 2-D really doesn’t want to. so since murdoc is not a very good person, he…gets the boogieman to drug 2-D, put him in a suitcase and send him to plastic beach. this whole phase is really not good for 2-D.

so in case that wasn’t enough, murdoc finds out 2-D is super afraid of whales and to keep him from escaping he looks him in a room where a whale is right outside and there’s a view of said whale. ;;;_;;;

eventually, murdoc finds footage of noodle and takes 2-D and cyborg to go find her. the boogieman has started chasing murdoc to take his soul since murdoc hasn’t fulfilled his part of any of the deals he made with them.

so after some stuff with bruce willis attempting to murder them happens, they go to the ocean and seem pretty close to finding noodle. noodle herself is now super cool looking and has a nice cat mask, and has also reunited with russel, who is now a giant after eating a bunch of toxic waste in the ocean.

unfortunately, 2-D and murdoc don’t find noodle, but they do find the boogieman killing a manatee for no good reason. so they head back to plastic beach, and the boogieman’s pirates have found it and started trying to destroy it.

somewhere inbetween all this, the evangelist who’s kinda like the boogieman’s opposite appears on the island delivering mail and being kind of a protective force. hopefully they’re being one over 2-D because he needs it.

SOOOO the real noodle and russel arrive at the plastic beach, boogieman and murdoc meet up and have a weird fight, boogieman summons more pirates, and cyborg noodle gets really messed up and starts trying to kill everyone. the whale outside 2-D’s room tries to eat him, but russel is able to get rid of it for a little bit. noodle meets cyborg noodle and it’s kinda awkward.

the whole island collapses and noodle and russel get separated. murdoc goes into a submarine and fakes his death, taking cyborg with him, and the whale gets back to 2-D and does what it would be expected to do. so things aren’t going very well. ;_;

noodle wakes up in a fishing village in japan and accidentally releases a demon, so she has an adventure chasing it until she freaken decapitates it.

russel gets captured by people thinking he’s a monster because he’s 50 feet tall and has completely white eyes. after a while, the effects of the toxic waste wear off and he shrinks back to his normal size.

murdoc goes to jail again. cyborg noodle dies, probably.

the whale who ate 2-D dies, and 2-D wakes up on an island he thinks is deserted and has to live off of whale meat. :,( after a few months, he sees a plane and follows it, hoping it can get him off the island. he discovers there’s a beach rave going on a while from his side, and decides to take a year to find himself, which is pretty easy cause he was right there. also he really needed a break from everything that happened. he got a job making friendship bracelets.

after murdoc got out of jail again, he called all of the members back to england, and they all reunited. gorillaz are BACK BABEY

then they released their first song in 5 years and it was about donald trump and it was freaken GOOD

anyways i’m not sure if you were expecting such an in depth explanation but i hope this helps! this is actually even barely getting into it, there’s a lot more but i didn’t want this to be TOO long

anyways That’z Gorillaz

Archie Andrews Imagine

‘Extraordinary Measures’

Cheerleader/Football Archie Imagine #1

Summary:  Y/n is a cheerleader on the River Vixens and has a date with her quarterback boyfriend, Archie. The only problem is Cheryl won’t end practice.

Word Count: 1603

request:  Hi~ can you please do a cute archie x cheerleader reader? 🖤

a/n: I know actually nothing about cheer (even though I have so much respect for the sport) so I did a tiny bit of research for this. Sorry if I got any cheer lingo wrong or messed something up. Let me know and I’d be happy to adjust it! // Also I wasn’t sure if the request wanted a Friday night football game kind of story so I kind of just did what I thought would be cool, but now I definitely want to write more cheerleader/football!archie stuff so be on the lookout. (Requests are open!)

 —

“Don’t mess, don’t mess,

don’t mess with the best ‘cause the best don’t mess!

Don’t fool, don’t fool,

don’t fool with the cool ‘cause the cool don’t fool!

From the east to the west

the Bulldogs are the best!

B-E-A-T beat ‘em! B-U-S-T bust ‘em!

Beat ‘em, bust ‘em, that’s our custom! Come on Bulldogs readjust ‘em!

Gooo Bulldogs!”

You along with the rest of the River Vixens were breathing heavily after running another cheer, it could practically be called panting. You were the flyer, with three equally exhausted bases under you including Betty and Veronica, finished in a liberty position with your hands in a high v. You’d been practicing for close to four hours – with no water break. Cheryl was always aggressive but this was a new high even for her.

“That was great ladies,” Cheryl yelled standing up from her spot on the bleachers. You looked down to Veronica and Betty and smiled in relief; it’d been a long day of getting yelled at by Cheryl and this seemed like progress. “Except that it wasn’t. It was actually terrible,” she walked down the bleachers toward the squad, putting an extra emphasis on ‘actually’. “My grandmother could cheer that better than you sacks-of-potatoes-with-skirts-and-ponytails that call yourselves ‘cheerleaders’. And she’s been dead since Obama’s first term.” Your face fell. You should have known. This was Cheryl Blossom we’re talking about.

The bases helped you down and you all gave each other long, knowing stares with heavy eyes. “I swear to god, I’m gonna go New York on her,” Veronica threatened. All the Vixens were thoroughly done with Cheryl for the day. Unfortunately, though, it didn’t seem that she was done with you.

She pulled out her megaphone for added drama. It’s not like she needed it. Even if her voice wasn’t extremely loud and high pitched enough to make dogs bark from a mile away, she was only standing like fifteen feet in front of you. “Why don’t we run ‘Be Aggressive’. Is that simple enough for you guys? Can your tiny little pigeon-brains handle that? And if it’s as bad as the rest of practice has been, it better be because all of you are puking your brains out or morbidly injured!”

Everyone was parched and needed a break. You decided it was worth a try. “Cheryl?” All eyes turned to you with shock and desperation. She cocked her head, egging you on and crossed her arms, waiting for you to continue.

Normally you would just deal with Cheryl and imagine something really embarrassing happening to her to make yourself feel better, but today she had put you in an especially bad mood. You we’re supposed to be going out with your boyfriend, Archie, soon but it didn’t look like she had any intention of ending practice in the near future. He was the school’s quarterback so he would be finishing up football practice any minute and you guys were supposed to be finished with rehearsal half an hour ago.

“Uh, I was wondering if maybe we could get some water?” You asked with an especially pathetic expression and your best puppy dog eyes without being obvious. She gave you a blank expression and stared at you for an uncomfortably long amount of time. Like 15 Mississippi seconds.

“You know what?” she probed, still using the unnecessary megaphone, “Yes, you girls can get water. But only because if I have to listen to you imbeciles butcher another simple cheer, I’m going to Van Gogh both my ears off, and I mean that. Be back in two minutes.”

A couple of girls ran up to you graciously but most just ran to their water to make the most of the time that was given. Two minutes in Cheryl-time was pretty different from two minutes in real-time. Just then, the football team parted ways signaling the end of practice. Some guys went to their cars but a lot stayed behind to watch the cheerleaders practice. It was kind of creepy but football normally got out after cheer so it wasn’t usually a problem.

Archie, jogged over to you with his gear still on and his helmet in his hand. He smiled at you with crinkly eyes and ran his fingers through his disheveled copper hair. “How’s my favorite River Vixen?”

You forwent an actual greeting and instead just yelled “WATER,” at him, grabbing the green bottle in his bag with the Gatorade logo on it and gulped it. It came out a little more desperate and forceful than intended but you figured he got the general ‘welcome’ message. When you finally came up for air he looked at you in awe and gave a chuckle, “Well hello to you too.”

“Sorry, it’s just Cheryl’s been crazy all practice. This is literally the first water break we’ve gotten.”

“Cheryl? Crazy? How new and different for her.” He leaned in to kiss you but you dipped out of the way.

“I promise you don’t want to kiss me Arch, I’m really sweaty.” You handed him the bottle back.

“Yeah, but I’m really sweaty too so it cancels out,” he leaned in and kissed you softly.

You smiled up at him, “Ah yes, simple algebra. How could I forget?”

The nice moment you were sharing was interrupted by the sound of nails on a chalkboard, also known as Cheryl Blossom’s voice through a megaphone, “ONE MINUTE”.

Your head whipped around back to your boyfriend. You HAD to get out of this practice, and you had an idea of how. “Archie.”

“Yeah?”

“I need you to stomp on my foot right now.”

He shook his head in confusion, “What? Why? You’re kidding, right?”

“Archie please. I don’t have time for questions. Cheryl is gonna kill me, at least if I don’t get to her first. Now just please stomp on my foot. With the cleat, she’ll check for damage.”

“You’re not kidding. Y/n! no! I’m not just going to crush your foot. Are you crazy?”

“Come on!” you pleaded with him. You looked over at Cheryl. You could tell even from this far away that she was getting increasingly impatient which meant that you were running out of time. “You don’t even have to stomp that hard! Just like, leave a mark or something, I’ll act out the rest!”

“Y/n, I’m not going to stomp on your foot.”

“Archie,” you widened your eyes at him and talked slowly and deliberately. “I swear to the lord above if you do not stomp on my foot, with cleat, right now, then I will not talk to you for a solid week. I swear.”

He opened his mouth to say something, contemplating what to do. He really didn’t want to hurt your foot but he knew that, strangely, you would be really mad at him if he didn’t.

Cheryl’s voice rang from the megaphone, “LET’S TAKE IT FROM THE TOP VIXENS!”

Archie went against his better judgment, lifting his foot about two feet off the ground and slammed it down onto your soft sneaker.

“SHIT!” You buckled over and grabbed your foot in pain, balancing yourself by holding onto Archie with your other hand.

“I’m so sorry. Are you okay? I really didn’t want to –”

“It’s fine, Arch. That was perfect. But I will need you to carry me over to Cheryl. She’ll want to see this.”

He put the rest of his equipment in his bag and lifted you up bridal style and headed towards the cheer squad. “Cheryl’s going to kill me right?” “Probably.”

She had her back turned to you as she was yelling at a freshman about how her hair looked unprofessional. “Cheryl?” You called out to her. She whipped around and her jaw dropped.

“What did you do to my flyer Andrews?!”

He cautiously answered her, “I’m really sorry, I just accidentally stepped on her foot with my cleat…”

“Which foot?!” Her eyes were wide with rage. You lifted your leg to indicate. She walked swiftly over to you and roughly pulled off your sneaker, making you wince a bit in pain. Sure enough, Archie’s cleats had left their mark. Your foot was red and it was obvious you couldn’t do anymore flying today. She threw the shoe into your hand that wasn’t wrapped around Archie’s neck. “Next time keep your big clown feet to yourself Boo Boo the fool.” She turned and walked towards her place in the bleachers. “Get out of my sight Y/n and put some ice on the foot. It better be healed by next practice,” she warned over her shoulder.

You looked at Archie, “I think… we’re free to go.” You looked back at the squad and saw Betty and Veronica getting into formation to run something. Betty reached her arm out dramatically towards the two of you and you could see Veronica mouth the words ‘Take us with you’. You reached back mirroring Betty’s motion as Archie turned away and walked towards his car.

“At least now we can make our dinner reservation. I got us a table at this great place called Pop’s. You probably haven’t heard of it, it’s pretty underground.” Archie quipped.

“Oh yeah? Sounds cute. I really will need some ice when we get there though. You know you actually stepped on me pretty bad,” you said to him, knowing how it would make him react.

“Are you kidding me? You forced me to do it! You threatened me!”

“I’m kidding, I’m kidding relax. I will need some ice though.”

“What are you? Some kind of masochist?”

“Mr. Grey will see you now.”

Kink Tag: none!

Period: Modern

Song: “Thin Air” - Olivia Holt ft. Jordan Fisher

A/N: So I collabed with @daveeddiggsit for this one and it ended up way cuter than we expected?? lol hope you enjoy!! (also there are several criminal minds references bc i’m like that)

You pushed your glasses back up the bridge of your nose as you continued typing away at your final thesis paper of the semester. Hair up in a bun, and some ratty university sweatpants on, you were looking a little worse for wear. But that was normal during finals week, right?

The library you had been holed up in for the past five hours was dead silent, allowing you to completely focus on your paper. Your eyes were glued to your laptop screen when you heard the sound of a chair scraping backwards but you were too in the zone to look up. As long as they didn’t disrupt your concentration, you’d be good.

“You ever think that the reason you’re wearing glasses is because you’ve been staring at that screen pretty closely for about two hours straight?” You heard a curious, deep voice interrupt your thoughts.

“You ever think about how the library is a quiet place for people to work,” you retorted without looking away from your screen.

“If you really want a quiet place to work, we could head back to my place and work on some other things too, if you know what I mean.” You could practically hear the smirk grow on his face.

“That sounds like one of the first lines in a Criminal Minds episode. Hard pass.”

“You like Criminal Minds? How about you let me profile you.

You finally glanced over and you could see that there definitely was a smirk on the very attractive man’s face. His hair was wildly curly, yet somehow tamable to an extent, facial hair adorned his defined jawline, and his amused brown eyes stared into your slightly-narrowed ones.

If you weren’t supposed to email this paper to your professor in six hours, you probably would’ve taken him up on his advances, but what was more attractive than Smirky Guy was an A on your paper. Which you then turned back to.

“Are you seriously just going to keep ignoring me?” He asked.

“Yup.”

“I’m just going to keep flirting with you until you talk to me.”

“You call saying random pick up lines to a girl whose name you don’t know and receiving little to no response flirting?”

“Yup.” He said, mocking you.

You rolled your eyes and continued to type your paper.

“Aww, come on, four eyes, take a break and talk to me. It won’t hurt anyone.”

You completely turned to him. “‘Four eyes,’ really?” You raised an eyebrow at him. “What are you, five?”

“Hey, ‘four eyes’ isn’t a bad thing. You look cute in glasses.” He grinned at you and even added a wink this time.

Period Pains

Peter Parker x Reader

Summary: Reader gets a visit from mother nature and Peter is there to save the day.

Word Count: 1,251

Warnings: Language (as always), period pain (?).

A/N: I apologize for my lack of posts. School has been weighing me down for the past few weeks. I’ll try and upload something new this week if I have time. Please let me know what you guys think! I decided to try someone other than Bucky, lol. Feedback really helps me understand what you guys like.

You know the day right before you get your period or a few days before and you totally veg out with unnecessary junk? That’s what you were currently doing. Sitting on the couch with a mini Ben and Jerry’s ice cream, oreo’s, candy, you name it. You tried working on some school work that was supposed to be due tomorrow, but for the life of you, you couldn’t keep a damn focus on anything.

Plopping down in your bed full of fluffy, warm blankets, you doze off into a food coma. However, the next morning, you would regret it all.

Why?

Your period.

Going out on a date with some guy you met at a café could bring more with it than meets the eye.

With slow steps, you dragged your feet towards the bathroom, feeling really tired from the nap you just woke up from. Maybe it wasn’t a good idea to sleep before a date, but you couldn’t help yourself as you had woken up really early for work. A small smile played upon your lips as you thought about it, work. It’s where you met him.

‘’Y/N! A caramel macchiato!’’ your co-worker yelled from the counter as you hastily wiped away the mess you just made.

‘’Coming right at ya,’’ you just told him, still wiping the counter and now also the floor, as coffee dripped from the edges. Brown droplets splashed in front of your white shoes, almost making them brown too, but with a few more wipes it looked like nothing was ever there.

A heavy sigh left your mouth and you heard a shy voice speaking a few metres away from you.

‘’Please, t-take your time,’’ the voice said as you whipped your head around, gazing at the guy to which the voice belonged with surprised eyes. When you met his eyes, your heart was about the burst and you could feel your head getting lighter.

Warm, chocolate brown eyes, a bit puffy and a face handsome as hell. Lips plump at first, but when his mouth went upwards, the cutest smile ever appeared, making his eyes smile as well. You had no idea how a stranger could make you feel all giddy, but he did. His ash blonde hair fell in front of his face in various ways, and it gave him this chill and cute vibe.

‘’Oh Jesus, Lord, save me,’’ was the only thought going through your mind,

Reggie Mantle x Reader PART ONE: THE ARTIST & THE JOCK

Before the story starts I must say this one is pretty long because I needed to tell you a bit of the backstory I have created, and hopefully you guys like this it’s my first fanfic ever. Also I see very little Reggie Imagines, so one came to mind and I decided to write, please comment what you think about it. I’m thinking of turning into little series so I’m guessing this is Part One.

words: 1974

Summary: The beginning of something b/w the reader and Reggie

Spoilers: Its gonna get good by Part two i promise, hopefully you guys like it

Part Two - Part Three - Part Four -  Part Five - Part Six

Such a small town Riverdale was. A town where everyone knew each other. By default though, the town you once knew was falling apart. Your parents’ generation was so screwed up and your generation was just trying to make it out alive.

           The next thing you knew this wholesome town had turned into a horror film, and you were not looking forward to the ending. Ms. Grundy was exposed a sexual predator and sent to Jail, and as happy as many people were that she had been put away, you couldn’t help but think how your friend Archie was doing. Not everyone knew that it was Archie who she had been with, as The Coopers decided to keep his identity a secret for his sake and the fact that Betty would not have them humiliate him.

           Then the incident of July 4th, when Jason Blossom was running away with Polly Cooper. Forbidden love, which ended in such a tragic ending with the murder of Jason. Then again does Forbidden love ever get a happy ending?  There you could not help to think of how both Cheryl and Betty were doing. Cheryl had lost her best friend, her confidant, the only one who was there for her unlike the rest of her tragic family dynamic. Betty in a sense lost Polly too since her parents sent her away because “she was not well” and she hasn’t seen Polly since.

           With you though you’re problems weren’t as big as theirs. Growing up in Riverdale was not easy, especially when all of us kids were just trying to make our parents happy, while trying to do the things we loved. You were the neutral ground for all the kids, well you and Betty. You had always hung out with almost every kid in Riverdale, from Betty, Archie, Kevin, Jughead, Cheryl, Chuck, Moose, Ethel, Trev, Josie, Valerie, Melody and Reggie. Now adding the new girl Veronica who seemed quite nice. She had her share of dysfunctional family problems too just like many of us in Riverdale. You’re parents came from nothing and in Riverdale they blossomed, your dad became a doctor and became rich and your mom decided to quit her job to support the household, which was not really her choice, but she would do anything for your father.

           These days though you were all grown up, many from different sides of the high school spectrum. Cheryl had her River Vixens cheerleading squad, Archie found love in music and sports (Such a Troy Bolton), Kevin realized he was gay (which we all accepted), Jughead found comfort in writing, Betty opened up The Blue & Gold newspaper for school again and dragged Jughead with her. Josie made a band with Val and Melody, Reggie/Chuck/Moose/Trev decided to channel their issues in the Jock spectrum. You however loved art, so they’d catch you drawing or painting hanging out with all of these losers on your free time. Oh did I forget to mention where Veronica made you and Betty tryout for the River Vixens. You only did it for the reason you do anything for anyone, to make them happy. Obviously you thought you weren’t going to make it. Proven wrong though when Cheryl accepted you because you were her friend and she knew you had “fire” only when your “fire” is needed. Though since the light of events this summer You and Veronica helped get Betty on the team.

            .

           You were arriving home in your new uniform since you didn’t have time to change, Your mother seemed a little too happy about you joining the vixens, and dad was just happy you weren’t just the “hippie”  artist.  I did say this was a small town right? Well word got around that you were now a vixen. And to avoid your parent’s cheeriness about this whole ensemble you changed and decided to go to Pops.

           As you opened the door to Pops with the delightful smell of burgers and fries, you looked to your right to see Jughead in his usual booth typing away and slip across him in the booth.

“Hey” you stated as he looked up. “What no more uniform?” he retorted.

“Oh c’mon not you too, I am so tired of the comments and looks I have gotten” as you replied back Arch, Kevin, Bets, and Ronnie were coming into Pops

“Oh c’mon (Y/N) you talk to everybody here, you were bound to became a bit of the “in-crowd” Jug signals with his fingers.

“I just don’t want this to take time away from my art” You replied as the gang snuck into the booth.

“You can do both like me, (Y/N)” Archie answered with a smile as you gave a shoulder shrug.

“I only did this, because Ronnie made me, and thinking Cheryl wouldn’t let me in” you exclaimed.

“Oh come on I just recently met you and I can now see you have legs!” Veronica exclaimed after listening into our conversation.

“Yeah (Y/N) we’ve all known you for so long honestly I thought the only part of you that moved were those hands when they’re painting away.” Kevin adds on with a giggle

and so we kept on talking until it was our curfew and we had to go, the only one who ever stays behind is Jug trying to fix up his novel.

“Get some rest” you say to Jug as you are one of the last one there and he just gives you a glare and bids you goodbye.

The next morning as you were getting ready to leave your house, your parents call you.

“(Y/N), we need to talk to you!” Your mom shouted from downstairs.

“Coming!” you shouted back, grabbing your stuff for practice later.

“Hey mom, dad what’s up?” you asked as you reached them in the kitchen.

“We are having dinner with The Mantles on Friday night” your father answered

“And we need you home and go buy yourself something nice for the dinner” your mother ordered with a smile as she continued dads sentence.

Confused as to what’s going on since you don’t really mingle with The Mantles anymore you ask “Why?”

Dad just shoots you a look “Its business, and I want you here and that’s final (Y/N).”

You nod and make your way to the door and get the bike to get to school.

As you walk through the hall reaching your locker to shove in your Vixens outfit, he appears with a smug look on his face.

“Hey (Y/N), looking good today, um well you look good all days” Reggie fidgets and continues “but you definitely look good today.”

“I’d like to think so” you retort “but does this by any chance have to do with the fact that our parents are having a dinner on Friday?” you question Reggie

“Well a bit, but I always have to compliment a girl when she looks good” he smirks

“OH MY SAVIOR!” you give a sarcastic comment while motioning your hands to forehead like a damsel in distress, as Betty and Ronnie approach you.

“Hey, Reggie” Veronica speaks up, “um I was wondering if you’d like to do something on Friday?” she asks Reggie

“Sorry Ron, I got plans with my family and (Y/N) family” and he bids farewell by reaching to his forehead with his hand as if he was tipping an imaginary hat and walks off with his Goonies as Jug likes to call them.

“The (Y/L/N) and The Mantles together again, it’s been so long, what’s the occasion?”  Betty questions me.

“Is there something I’m missing here (Y/N)? You said you guys were just childhood friends” Ronnie adds on

“Oh, oh… my god no! We used to be very close when we were smaller, but um… no, you can have him Ron I haven’t changed my mind, and my dad said its purely business related” you retort while closing my locker answering to both Betty and Veronica.

The day goes by and during lunch you head on to ask Cheryl if there is going to be practice on Friday.

“No, I got some things to do at home (Y/N), have a nice dinner with The Mantles” Cheryl answers and gives me devilish smirk

“It is not like that Cheryl, just a business dinner” you answer annoyed.

“I always did think he’d end up with you, before he went full jock king on us and you ended up the tortured artist” she stated with sly smile.

The week went by and you bought yourself a dress that both you and your mom could find middle ground on since you preferred jeans and t-shirt on any occasion. It was Friday during lunch and you were with Jug, Kevin, Arch, Bets, and Ronnie. Talking about your plans for the weekend when Kevin decided to have a movie night tonight.

“Can’t, family dinner, if I skip it they’ll put me on death row” You told Kev

“Seriously? Ok how about Saturday night then?” Kevin asks

“Yeah, I think I can, how about you guys?” you ask the rest of the group

“Yeah sure, Betty and I will stop sleuthing for a night” Jug answers while taking a bit of food from all of us, while Betty nods

“I’m in!” Veronica states “What about you Archiekins?” She says taking away one of Archie’s fries.

“Yeah” the red-haired boy answered.

Reggie made his way to the table

“Hope you’re not making any plans for tonight (Y/N/N) my parents and my little sister would be so sad” Reggie states with a puppy dog expression.

“Oh, God please don’t call me that.” you tell Reggie while making an annoyed face.

“What? You love it when I call you that!” Reggie proclaims

“Yeah when we were eight” you declare as he walks off before Ronnie can get to talk to him.

“Well he’s been awfully sweet to you lately” Betty announces to the group

“It’s probably because he doesn’t want me telling our parents he’s a jerk most of the time” you say, while Ronnie just looks at you with a small smile, before you get to speak again, to re-assure Ronnie, Kevin decides to open his mouth.

“OMG, Sorry Ron, but you and Reggie, can it be? Straight out of a movie plot” he motions his hands together against his heart.

“I promise, he’s yours for the taking Ron” you speak up glaring at Kevin.

At the end of the school day as you’re getting ready to go home Ronnie stops to talk to you.

“Hey (Y/N), look if you like Reggie it’s okay, I mean you guys have history, I’m new and he doesn’t even give me the time of day, I mean…”

You grab her by the shoulder and cut her off by saying “Look Ron, you like him, me and Reg were just friends, I have never thought about him like that, never.”

Ronnie gives you a sad smile “Look I’m just saying the guy is hot, and he doesn’t even look my way, when he looks and talks to you it is like he is not that douchebag everyone thinks he is”

“Ron I… I… look… Look I am not going to let you mope around like this, I admit that Reg is good looking, but that could never happen you like him, and were just polar opposites that could never work out” You reassure her.

She looks at you still a bit sad and so you speak up again “I promise to talk you up during dinner, so he can start crushing on you, I’d invite you, but my parents as I have said would put be on death row if I did”

You bid goodbyes as you headed home to get ready for dinner with The Mantles.

Man it is going to a long night…

A thing you probably don’t know about me is that sometimes I get in this mood where I don’t want to do anything but spend every spare moment binge-watching House, M.D. for several days at a time. I was on ep 2.15, “Clueless,” AKA that one where Wilson crashes at House’s place for a while, when inspiration struck and this Sterek drabble happened. Or… It’s almost 2k words, so maybe it’s a bit more than a drabble, BUT it’s still a drabble in spirit. (Rated T.)

It’s almost midnight when Derek finally shoulders on his coat, locks his office door, and steps out, only to spot Stiles crouched in front of the vending machine at the end of the hall, whacking the glass with the heel of his palm and muttering darkly.

Derek can’t just ignore him; he never can. (It’s a bit of a problem, and everyone in the hospital seems to know it, except for Stiles.) Before he knows it, he’s changed tracks and walked right over. “What are you still doing here?”

Stiles sits back on his heels to look up at him. “Bob ate my dollar and I’m feeling petty so I’m trying to get it back.”

“Bob?” Derek asks, a split second before he remembers that Stiles named the vending machine. It’s just this kind of thing that makes Derek feel guilty for sometimes looking at Stiles’ mouth a little too long, or pausing to let his eyes follow Stiles’ progress down the hall. Stiles isn’t a kid or anything, but he’s still only 26 to Derek’s 32, and he’s still got a year of residency to go. A lot of times, like when he’s jamming out to his iPod while he looks over lab work or doing stupid stuff like naming the vending machines, he seems to Derek more like a college kid than a grown man with a medical license and a house and a girlfriend.

Stiles goes back to hitting the vending machine, and Derek remembers why he originally came over here. “Didn’t your shift end at 7?”

Stiles smirks up at him, and Derek tries very, very hard not to imagine him making that same face in certain… other contexts. “What, you got my schedule memorized now, Dr. Hale? I’m flattered.”

It would make Derek’s life a lot easier if so much of what Stiles said didn’t come out sounding so flirtatious. Derek crosses his arms over his chest. “You’re deflecting.”

A/N: I’m so sorry for the long wait, I will try my best to get more fics out, i’ve just been really overwhelmed and anxious lately. Love you guys.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

You and Jughead were walking home together like normal. He usually walked you home so that you wouldn’t be alone. You never were very outspoken, never blended in very well with other kids your age. You considered Jughead your only friend.

Your mom was out of town for the week, but that was nothing strange. Her job always had her flying out to different places. As you approached your driveway, you quickly checked the mailbox and were surprised by the abundance of letters stashed inside. You grabbed them and invited Jughead inside for a bit.

Your backpack found its way on the floor as the pile of mail in your arms became scattered over the counter. You stacked them neatly and started to go through them as Jughead helped himself to any snacks in the pantry. “Junk, ads, mom stuff, junk, no we don’t need a new internet service, junk, junk, ads, hey what’s this.” You held out a crisp, white, official looking, letter addressed to your mom. You were about to put it in your mom’s stack when you saw the sender’s address. It was from the state prison.

Your eyes furrowed with worry as you made the decision to open it. Jughead sat next to you with two freshly made sandwiches as he watched your eyes dart from side to side across the letter. He took a bite as he observed you reading. As soon as you finished reading your jaw dropped in shock as the letter fell out of your hands. You started shaking as you stared blankly ahead of you.

Jughead noticed the change and dropped his now forgotten, half-eaten, sandwich and was immediately at your side. “y/n? What’s wrong?” he asked as you just kept muttering to yourself, “He’s out.” Over and over again. “Come on.” Jughead said as he led you over to the couch and sat you down.

You just kept muttering to yourself the same phrase, not being able to fully comprehend what was on the letter. “Hey y/n, listen to me aright. Focus on my voice. Ok? It’s Jughead. Can you hear me?” your hands were shaking rapidly as your eyes finally darted to meet his clear blue ones. “y/n?” he gripped your hands in his nimble ones in an attempt to steady you. He rubbed circles into them as he tried to get you to focus on him.

“Hey, shh. You’re alright. No one’s gonna hurt you, I’m right here for you. It’s ok.” As if being brought out of a trance the shaking and mumbling stopped. You looked up at him as your e/c eyes watered before collapsing into him.

You sobbed as your tears stained his shirt. But he didn’t care. He rocked you against his chest, whispering sweet nothings into your ear until you calmed down. You hiccupped as the sobbing finally ceased. He soon stopped rocking you but made no move to remove you from his chest.

He sighed softly as you sat there listening to his steady heartbeat. “I’m scared Juggy.” You finally said. He ran his hand up and down your arm soothingly. “Of what?” he asked. You let out another shaky breath. “My dad, he’s getting out of jail.” Jughead somehow pulled you in closer after you said that.

He placed a brief kiss on the top of your head as he held you protectively. “I’m sorry. I know, after what he did… He deserves to be locked up, forever. But I’ll make a promise to you right now.” You sat up and looked him in the eye. “I will protect you. Even if he steps 20 feet near you, he’s toast.” You giggled slightly. Of course you’d use food as an analogy.” He grinned.

Your head founds its way back on his chest as he embraced you again. “I’m being serious though. I’ll always be there for you” You smiled as a single tear escaped your eye before snuggling even closer to him, showing him just how much he meant to you.

12x12 Episode Review - Still Screeching...this time about the colour “Peach”.

I gave my 12x10 episode review the title “Pterodactyl Screeching into the Void” because I was so happy about it I couldn’t help but scream with glee at practically every moment. I also said this: “I feel like there is so much to talk about in this episode that fandom will be chewing on it for months if not years to come.” I still believe this, I just didn’t expect that two episodes later I would be reliving this exact same thoughts and feelings. I considered 12x10 to be a one off, a glorious gift to fandom wrapped in a big destielicious bow. Clearly, we celebrate our fandom birthday only two weeks before fandom Christmas because we just got ANOTHER gift wrapped in an even BIGGER destielicious bow and I can hardly contain my glee. (baring in mind fandom Christmas falls on the tenth anniversary of tumblr and close to valentines day I can’t help but feel this was planned - PRESENTS ALL AROUND)

But anyway. Lets talk meta. Once again I am very late to the party as I doubt I will be posting this any earlier than Saturday evening when you have probably all been talking this to death for the past two days. But eh, I’m gonna do my thing and hope you all agree, or aren’t bored by now if everything I talk about is stuff already gone over by my fellow very talented meta writers.

Starting with the obvious, Director Dick Speight Jr and Writer Davy Perez made this episode an homage to Tarantino movies. Specifically Reservoir Dogs which has so many ties to this episode both visually and subtextually that it is kind of difficult to keep track of my thoughts on it. I have to confess, I hadn’t ever watched Reservoir Dogs all the way through prior to watching the episode because it never really interested me. However, after watching the episode for the first time Friday lunch time I decided that it was in my best interests as a meta writer to give it a go. I watched it and tried to take in everything Tarantino was saying and doing with this movie…

Being a meta writing, destiel shipper with heteronormative goggles permanently removed since watching this show guess what the first thing I picked up on was? That’s right Mr White and Mr Orange… what WAS going on there anyway? Because these guys didn’t know each other very long but they became VERY close by the time of the heist. Poor Freddie and Larry. Such doomed tragic lovers… do we have a ship name for them yet? Frarry? Leddie? Or maybe just “peach” (hence my title)

I believe that when Perez was writing this episode he had a SPN character in mind for each character in RD (mostly anyway). Cas is obviously Mr Orange (the bleeding out from the stomach thing gives it away as does Davy’s tweet here. Here is who I think the rest of the characters are supposed to be:

Dean – Mr White (duh)

Mary – Mr Pink

Wally – Mr Brown

Sam – Nice Guy Eddie maybe? I struggled here

Crowley – I wanna say Joe. (though I also kinda think Ketch would be Joe here… its not too obvious)

Remiel – Mr Blonde (“yellow” hair)

Explanations and various meta under the cut. This gets long:

She's Not You [j.j.]

Jughead x reader in which she acts completely normal.

~~~
(Y/N) (L/N) liked Jughead Jones. That was a fact.
Jughead Jones liked Betty Cooper. That was also a fact.
Another (very) known fact was that Betty Cooper liked Archie Andrews, yet Archie liked Valerie Brown.
It was a huge mess and there was no way to fix it.
~~~

“Are you ever going to tell him you like him?”

(Y/N) looked up from her book to see Kevin Keller and Veronica Lodge slide into the booth she was sitting in. “No.”

“But why?” complained Veronica. She was the biggest (Y/N)/Jughead shipper there was.

“Because he likes Betty,” (Y/N) replied smoothly. “I’m not gonna waste my time.”

“Oh c’mon,” Kevin exclaimed. “That boy is taken with you, he just hasn’t realized it yet.”

“And he probably never will. I’m completely happy just being friends with him Keller, I’m not going to jeopardize that friendship because of my feelings.”

“Whatever (Y/N),” Veronica scoffed. “But he’s going to find out sooner or later.”

The trio of friends turned to the door when they heard the jingling of a bell, alerting the patrons in Pop’s that someone had entered. Jughead looked around the diner, his eyes settling on the (H/C) girl and making his way over.

“Hey guys,” he greeted. “What are we talking about?”

“Oh nothing,” Veronica said.

“Yeah, we were just leaving,” Kevin added as they both got up from their seats.  “Remember what we talked about (Y/N/N)!”

You simply nodded as you waved at them, too engrossed in your book to notice the looks they exchanged with each other.

“So, what were you talking about?” Jughead asked as he sat next to you.

(Y/N) looked up at him and gave him a smile, “Don’t worry about it.”

~~~
Jughead couldn’t help but worry. He was too curious for his own good, everybody knew that. He wanted to know what his best friend had been talking about with Veronica and Kevin before he had arrived, but she wasn’t telling.
He followed her around for the whole week, bugging and begging her to tell him. She’d always laugh and give him a ridiculous response.
“We were talking about how my cat got diabetes.”
“Veronica was telling me that Reggie is actually very gay for Chuck.”
“Kevin and Veronica were trying to convince me to go skinny dipping in the river with them.”
Jughead was pretty tired of her excuses.
~~~

Later that week, Jughead had managed to corner Veronica in the hallway and was pestering her trying to figure out the topic of the conversation Pop’s.

“Fine!” Veronica cried out in exasperation. Noticing that (Y/N) was rounding the corner and approaching them, the Lodge girl quickly came up with a plan. Pushing Jughead into an empty classroom next to them, she motioned for him to stay put. Curious, Jughead decided to listen to her and watched as (Y/N) was stopped by Veronica.

“So (Y/N), I assume you’re on your way to meet Jughead at Pop’s?” Veronica had a sly smile on her face.

“Of course not,” (Y/N) replied. “Why follow my daily schedule when I can be spontaneous.”

Noticing the heavy sarcasm in her tone, Veronica gave her an irritated look. “Well little Miss Sarcasm, sorry for asking.”

The (H/C) haired girl flashed a smile at Veronica, “Where else would I be going Ronnie?”

Jughead smiled at his best friends words. It was indeed a daily ritual to sit at Pop’s until closing time every day, just enjoying each others company as they drank some milkshakes.

“So have you thought about what we told you?”

Jughead was snapped out of his thoughts by Veronica’s question. ‘What is she talking about?’ he though to himself.

“Yeah, I have actually,” he heard (Y/N) reply. “I’m not doing it.”

“You have to,” Veronica said.

“No Ronnie, I am not telling my best friend that I like him!”

Jughead felt his breathing stop. (Y/N) liked him? His (Y/N)? He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t notice (Y/N) and Veronica walking away. He quickly gathered his thoughts and rushed off to Pop’s, determined to get some answers from his best friend.

~~~
“You’re late,” (Y/N) said, not looking up from her book as Jughead approached her booth.
“Yeah, I got caught up with some stuff for the Blue & Gold. Betty needed my help,” Jughead mentally cursed himself for his shitty excuse. (Y/N) simply looked up at him over her book, raising an eyebrow at him, before going back to her story.
Jughead didn’t know what to do. He wanted to ask her about what she had said to Veronica back at school but he couldn’t seem to find the words to speak.
“You alright there Juggie?” (Y/N) asked. “You seem very conflicted.”
“Do you like me?” Jughead blurted out. He mentally face palmed. ‘Way to be subtle’ he mentally reprimanded himself.
(Y/N)’s eyes widened briefly before going back to her book. “Dammit Ronnie,” she muttered under her breath.
“So it’s true?” Jughead asked nervously.
“Yeah,” (Y/N) replied nonchalantly, still reading.
“I’m sorry (Y/N). I really am, but I like Betty,” Jughead’s voice almost trailed off at the end as he braced himself for her reaction. He didn’t know what she’d do. He was expecting anger, sadness, a melancholic response. He got none of those.
“Ok,” the girl simply replied. Jughead’s head shot up.
“I’m sorry (Y/N/N), I truly am.”
(Y/N) finally looked up at him, setting her book down after she marked her page.
“Why?” she questioned. Jughead looked at her in confusion.
“Why are you sorry Juggie?” she said. “I knew you liked Betty. That’s why I didn’t say anything”
“Yeah but, it’s just that you like me, and I uh- I feel really bad and uh…” Jughead stumbled over his words, not knowing how to reply.
His best friend leaned back in her seat and chuckled. “Juggie. You have no reason to be sorry. We can’t control our feelings. I like you, you like Betty, that’s the way it is. We can’t change it.”
“Yeah, but I feel kind of shitty,” Jughead breathed.
“Don’t,” his best friend replied. “Just because you don’t like me back doesn’t mean we’re not friends Jug. You’re my best friend, and our friendship is more important than some stupid feelings.”
And with those words, Jughead felt reassured as they ordered their milkshakes, drinking the night away, knowing that their friendship wasn’t ruined.
~~~

“You have to come along guys!” Veronica exclaimed. “Last time it was only me, Josie, Kevin, and Reggie but we all need a stress reliever.”

It was a Friday, and Veronica was trying to get her friends to go clubbing with her. Reluctantly, and with a lot of encouragement, they all agreed. Even Jughead.

It was eight at night when they all stepped into the club. Veronica, fearless and confident, dragged Josie and Kevin off to dance,with Archie tagging along. (Y/N) chose to sit down for awhile and Jughead and Betty joined her. (Y/N) felt really out of place as Betty and Jughead struck up a conversation and she decided to wander around. Just as she got up, she bumped into Reggie (who she had forgotten was there to be honest) and stumbled. She felt hands wrap around her waist as she put her hands out to steady herself.

“Whoa there,” Reggie said, smirking. “Don’t go falling for me (Y/N)”

(Y/N) couldn’t help but groan and chuckle at his lame pick-up line. Her and Reggie had once been friends, best friends actually, up until high school. He had instantly become popular and she hadn’t. They had simply grown apart.

“I had honestly forgotten you had come,” the girl stated.

“You wound me (Y/N/N),” Reggie smiled, placing a hand upon his heart. “And here I was thinking that you loved me.”

“Yea yea, long time no see huh?” the girl replied.

“Yeah,” Reggie muttered awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck. “I miss our friendship and I’m honestly sorry that we stopped talking.”

“Buy me a milkshake and you’ll be forgiven,” (Y/N) told him.

“Deal,” Reggie said. “Let’s go.”

“What? Now?”

“Yea, we have a lot of catching up to do.”

~~~
“Jug, why is (Y/N) leaving with Reggie?” Betty questioned.
Snapping his head to look for his best friend, Jughead immediately stood up and walked over to the pair that was making their way out of the club.
“(Y/N/N)!” Jughead called out. The pair stopped and turned around. “Where are you going?”
“Oh, Reggie here is gonna buy me milkshakes,” (Y/N) answered happily.
“Uh, I believe I said one  milkshake,” Reggie said in a teasing tone, bumping his shoulder against the girl’s.
“Uh, I believe I never said how many milkshakes you owe me,” (Y/N) shot back in an equally teasing tone. Jughead looked back and forth between them, an uneasy feeling creeping up on him.
“Yeah, okay,” he mumbled. “See you around I guess.”
(Y/N) frowned slightly at his response before being pulled away by Reggie, the smile reappearing on her face. Jughead made his way back to Betty.
~~~

“…and then we also have to start working on next week’s spread,” Betty said as Jughead glanced at the club’s entrance.

“And I also kissed Veronica at cheer tryouts,” Betty said, trying to get Jughead’s attention.

“Uh huh,” Jughead replied absentmindedly, still looking at the entrance.

“And I also found a unicorn and named it Sparkles. He’s currently in my attic.”

“Yeah, that sounds great Betty.”

“Jughead!” Betty shouted. He turned to her, nearly knocking over his drink.

“Go after her Juggie,” Betty said. “I know you’re worried.”

“It’s just…its Reggie,” Jughead started. “I don’t know why she left with him.”

“Well, they are friends,” Betty replied. “Go Jughead. We all know you like her. Go after her.”

Jughead looked at her in surprise. “You think I like her?”

“Jug,” she said. “I know you like her. We all do.”

“But I like you,” he mumbled, surprised when Betty giggled.

“That’s sweet Jug, really, but come on, you really don’t like her? She’s in love with you y’know. She always has been.”

“I know…” Jughead trailed off.

“Go talk to her,” Betty encouraged,

Jughead left the club.

~~~
As he approached Pop’s, Jughead couldn’t feel the small pang of jealously that he felt as he saw (Y/N) sitting at their usual booth with Reggie, as they both drank a milkshake. He watched as she tilted her head back, laughing as Reggie told her a story, gesticulating wildly with his hands.
He couldn’t help but think over Betty’s words. Yes, he always did think that (Y/N) was beautiful, and yes, he always did love receiving a hug from her. But that was normal with best friends…right?
But as he stood outside, watching (Y/N) sitting at their booth with Reggie Mantle, he couldn’t help but agree with Betty. He definitely felt something for his best friend. He always had, he had just ignored those feelings. He wouldn’t have left Betty if he didn’t feel something for (Y/N).
He watched as (Y/N)’s gaze traveled to the window, spotting him and instantly smiling at him. Reggie’s eyes followed soon after and he got up/ Jughead watched as he gave (Y/N) a quick hug and paid for their milkshakes before leaving the diner.
“Don’t fuck this up freak,” Reggie muttered as he passed Jughead. Reggie was right, Jughead couldn’t mess any of this up.
He made his way inside and took his usual seat next to (Y/n).
“What are you doing here Jug? You were having such a nice time at the club with Betty!” the (H/C) girl exclaimed.
Gathering up all the courage he had, Jughead quietly replied, “But she’s not you.”
(Y/N) froze before looking up at Jughead. “What?”
“She’s not you (Y/N),” Jughead continued, feeling confident. He had nothing to lose and he knew that she liked him back. “Betty’s great and all, but she’s not you. You’re the one that’s always been there for me. You helped me after my dad went off the rails and mom left with Jellybean. You were there to support me when I began my novel and you were there for me when the drive-in closed down. You offered me a place to stay when I had nothing. It’s always been you (Y/N),I just never thought that we could be anything more than friends.”
(Y/N) threw her head back and laughed. “Oh Juggie. Of course I’ve always been there for you. You’re my best friend. I love you.”
“Go out with me? Please,” Jughead awaited her reply.
Smiling up at him, (Y/N) replied, “This can be our first date Jug.”
Jughead smiled at her and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulling her into him. And they spent their night there, like they usually did, just talking and sharing milkshakes. Only now, things had changed. They were happy, and it was quite obvious to anyone who saw them sitting together, exchanging shy kisses as the night dragged on.
“I love you too (Y/N/N).”
The Spring Exchange fic authors have been revealed, so I can post this here now!
This was my exchange fic for @baneismydragon! I hope you enjoy(ed) it, you gave a really good prompt! Shout out to @reyxa for lending me her soulmates au where the sneezes of soulmates sync up.
Summary: "After pouring two packs of chocolate powder in each mug, she felt a sudden sensation in her sinuses thanks to the powder that remained in the air. Quickly, she put her finger below her nose, pleased when the sneeze stopped. After that, it was quick work to pour the water and stir the mix in, and just as she was about to bring them out-
She sneezed.
She stared at the mugs of hot chocolate, her eyes impossibly wide. There was no way. She had to be dreaming. She did not just hear three consecutive sneezes come from her friends in the living room.”
Or, a soulmate au where the sneezes of soulmates sync up after you meet them.
“Alright, class, we’ve got two new students joining us this semester. Please, introduce yourselves for us,” their teacher, Madame Bustier, said.
Standing in front of the rest of the class were two students, one that looked excited and fiery, and another that looked shy and awkward. To the class’ surprise, the shy one spoke first.
“Hi, my name’s Adrien, and I look forward to working with all of you in the future.” He punctuated his statement with a quick little wave and a sweet smile.
After he finished speaking, the other spoke. “I’m Alya, and I just moved nearby from across the city.”
Madame Bustier gave them both a smile and gestured for them to find their seats. Alya moved instantly, spotting an empty seat in the second row, next to a girl she’d actually ran into before school started. Adrien rubbed his arm, his eyes sweeping across the room. He saw a childhood friend of his waving for him to sit by her, but he cringed when he saw her trying to push her seatmate out for him. While the two settled in, their teacher was about to continue speaking when two synchronized sneezes sounded from the back of the room. Adrien and Alya both turned to look, eyes wide at actually having a pair of soulmates in their classroom. They saw a couple sitting next to each other in the row behind Alya, both of them blushing a tiny bit as their hands intertwined.
Patient though she may be, when Adrien and Alya didn’t look away, Madame Bustier cleared her throat and brought their attention back to her. It was only then that the two noticed nobody else had turned to gawk, which could only mean they all knew already.
“I understand that soulmates are an interesting topic to talk about, let alone see in person, but we do have class to tend to, Monsieur Agreste and Mademoiselle Césaire.” With that, she turned around and started writing on the board. Adrien looked sheepish and stared down at his desk while Alya turned to the girl beside her and started whispering.
“So girl, mind spilling the beans on those two behind us?” she asked, not quiet enough to keep Adrien and his seatmate from hearing. “Are they really… you know?”
