Stanislav Petrov, Soviet soldier credited with saving world from nuclear war, dies at 77
Stanislav Petrov was monitoring an early warning system from a bunker outside Moscow when the radar screen appeared to depict an inbound US missile.

Petrov, thinking that any U.S. attack should have involved even more missiles to limit the chance of Soviet retaliation, told his Kremlin bosses the alert must have been caused by a malfunction. He persuaded Moscow not to shoot back.

It was later determined that Russian satellites must have mistaken sunlight reflecting off clouds for nuclear missiles.

Petrov’s reward? He was chastised for failing to provide proper paperwork, he said.

Vampire Marius who has to tell Cosette that he's a vampire because she's noticed his little quirks at times and he's so nervous about telling her and Cosette's just like, "oh okay"

“wow butthole, you should’ve have posted this when the Vampire!Marius drawings were still relevant, like what 1? 2 weeks ago?”

I don't know maybe because ur story rest stop is amazing. And we see great potential in u 4more story

Thanks! I’m wiped with school, so writing moods are coming and going. It’s constantly a state of wanting to update, trust me, I want to put Part 4 out there because that is going to be such a chapter for growth for me, but I don’t want to rush it. Literally any time I rush my writing is shit. The whole plot is put out, but just writing takes forever ( I totally enjoy it though). Part 2 took me roughly 2 to 2 to a half hours, and editing. is. ugh. Writing disabilities run in my family, and while I don’t have one, I can’t spell for shit. Like “sentries” was “sentrys” and words like “gorgeous” and “burgundy” kill me because I write like I talk/think/feel. I literally pronounce it “bur-gun-dee” instead of “ber-gindy”. And I’m ranting, but I do want to let you guys know I am trying. I’ve literally scrapped and re-wrote the opening scene five times, because, sweet baby jesus, how does one do this??? Eh, I’ll figure it out. I will have a break starting October 6th (my birthday!!!!!!) that lasts 5 days, so if I stay home on my birthday, expect an update. If I don’t, then the 8th will be the best bet. And weekends are open for updates as long as I don’t have a million essays or my family demanding we spend time together (which is kind of nice, actually. I just hate having people re-arrange my plans once I get them going).

“The creature in his chest roaring in triumph, he grinned down at Ginny and gestured wordlessly out of the portrait hole. A long walk in the grounds seemed indicated, during which–if they had time–they might discuss the match.” Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

  • me: wonders if we're really supposed to buy that all the guests at Felix's art opening just accepted that each new 'sister' was the same person dressed up in a different costume
  • me, twelve hours later: remembers that each of the sisters actually IS the same person dressed up in a different costume
