The first time someone else touched me with the intent to pleasure, I fell in love. Not with that person, but with the act itself. Such intimacy and accord. Even with the awkwardness of first time lovers there was a grace and purity, carnal and beautiful that I knew from that moment on I could never live without.

Meet Jon Bellion, an atypical hip-hop/pop singer and producer. Bellion first jumped into the music scene with his mixtape Scattered Thoughts Vol. 1, which was posted through his Facebook page and accumulated over 11,000 downloads. Then, after signing with Visionary Music Group in 2012, Bellion began to gain more traction in his music career. Think back to 2013, when the airwaves were flooded with the ubiquitous song “The Monster” by Eminem and Rihanna. The ever-so catchy chorus was written by none other than Bellion himself, later earning the song a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Bellion’s behind-the-scenes success continued with Jason Derulo’s 2014 hit “Trumpets” co-written and produced by Bellion. In early 2015, Bellion released his song “All Time Low” (his most successful solo song to date), as well as two other hits “Woodstock (Psychedelic Fiction)” and “Woke The F*ck Up.” Bellion’s upward climb continued in 2015 with Zedd’s album True Colors, where he was featured on the album’s second single “Beautiful Now.” More recently in mid-June, Bellion released his official debut album The Human Condition, led by the singles “Guillotine,” “80′s Films,” and “Maybe IDK.” His hope for the album is that it catches the attention of Disney/Pixar because “it has always been a dream of [his] to score a movie for them.” Personally, I love Jon Bellion’s sound. It’s a perfect amalgamation of pop, hip hop, electro pop, indie, and everything in between.
