Comics and wrestling go hand in hand. They’re both full of over the top heroes, dastardly villains, the good guy saving the day (eventually), horrible monsters, and somehow two art forms that were created for “nerds” end up pulling us back in even when we’ve sworn we outgrew them a long time ago.
Mephisto is a favorite of mine from CMLL because not only is he a good wrestler, he’s also come to the ring dressed as Bane (which I love). During Fantasticamania 2015, which is an annual event that’s been co-produced by CMLL and NJPW since 2010 (there have been 18 shows in total because each one is more than one part), Mephisto thought it would be great to come out dressed like SCARY DEAD SKELETON ZOMBIE BATMAN. I mean, it could be Black Lantern Batman but I don’t know enough about comics to say for sure, so he’s just SCARY DEAD SKELETON ZOMBIE BATMAN.
This match also features Stuka Jr., who, despite his name, is not the son of Stuka but his much younger brother. Stuka Jr. teams a lot with Fuego, whose first gimmick was The Flash, and they held the CMLL
Arena Coliseo Tag Team Championship for a record four and a half years.
